Installed several years ago with strong pitch about how it would reduce bills by 30%. Haven’t seen it and worst of all their installer broke the exhaust pipe from my furnace and covered it up with tape which eventually broke loose and resulted in carbon monoxide being vented in to my home. Also, when installation was done, a change jar was stollen out of one of the bedrooms in my house containing over $ 120 in change. Reported to company but they denied that their installers would do that as they were«professionals that had been with the company for many years with no issues». These are the same professionals that when the broken furnace exhaust was discovered and reported to the company I was informed that both installers were no longer with the company. That by the way was the only comment I got from the company when I reported the Carbon monoxide leaks due to their installation. This manager guy, Charles has ZERO customer service skills. They just want your money and after that they don’t seem to really care. My overall experience with this company is that they were not effective and not professional at all and actually had this mistake been made to my downstairs furnace, I wouldn’t be here to write this report. If I could give these guys a –10 stars I would do it. Don’t waste your money on these guys but if you still do, I strongly suggest you inspect everything they touch and don’t leave them unsupervised for one minute because your life could depend on it.

I had Home Energy Solutions do a free energy assessment of my home in Oct. 2013. After a very strong sales pitch I was talked into installing e-Shield insulation in my attic. I was told if I didn’t save 25% on energy usage in the first year I would be refunded the difference. The actual installation process did go smoothly. The workers were on time and professional. After a year I noted that my energy usage, both kilowatts for electricity as well as therms for gas, were higher on average per month than before I had it installed. I don’t think it obviously reduced efficiency, but more likely that it was just a slightly colder winter, slightly warmer summer and the insulation didn’t really make a difference at all. Upon examining the 25% savings guarantee closer I realized it was only up to $ 500, a fact that was not verbalized initially and was in small print on a certificate buried in with other papers that I didn’t even get until the contract for the job was already signed. The most frustrating thing isn’t that I wasted over $ 4000 on a product that hasn’t done anything for me, it’s that after filing all paperwork needed for the $ 500 guaranteed rebate I still haven’t received what they promised. I sent in 2 years worth of utility bills and received a check for $ 343. I have called multiple times and nobody can even tell me how they arrived on that number. After fighting with both Home Energy Solutions, and Pro Materials Direct(the maker of the e-Shield product) for the past two months and making a dozen or so phone calls to both companies, it is apparent that they do not intend on honoring their agreement. For both this reason and the fact that the product did not work in the least bit for me, I would strongly advise against both Home Energy Solutions and Pro Materials Direct and their e-Shield product.
