If you haven’t tried the pizza with pickles on it yet… I highly recommend it!!! All of our kids love it!!!

I was in the mood for a cheese, sausage and mushroom pizza and Hubby’s won the coin toss as a place to try. I was a bit leery as Hubby’s got a three star overall rating in a town that considers Domino’s a four star pizza place. But hey! No guts, no glory! Hubby’s here I come. As stated in earlier review, Hubby’s has this kitschky Mom and Pop air about it. Remember the old Shakey’s restaurants? This place reminded me of Shakey’s, without the peanut shells and popcorn. Their kitchen is open for all to see, they sell beer including four flat beers on tap(cold, but flat), and they have a slightly preoccupied young lady taking orders. One part of the dining area has a collection of old video machines. Dining area itself was made up of benches and heavy wood tables. There are two Television monitors that I could see, one in opposite corners. I ordered the 13 inch Sausage, Mushroom and Cheese pizza. I did a quick look at some of their combination pizzas and specials and it can get a bit weird. Dill pickles in pizza? I don’t think so. The pizza itself was very tasty, most distinct part about it was the crust, very crunchy, almost tough. But I enjoyed it and would have it again if I am in the area. Only negative is the price. I’m used to expensive pizza but 23 bucks for a 13 inch two topping pizza is pushing it a bit. In fairness they do have a special, a large(16 inch) pepperoni for 10.99. That might be the route to go. Three stars for now, maybe another star next time I visit.

Awesome pizza! The pepperoni and the supreme are both great. Prices are affordable

This is a classic mom and pop pizza joint. The crust is made from scratch daily and is a great base for the multitude of toping options. You can watch them running the fresh dough through a press while you watch them make your food. The pickle pizza is not as strange as it sounds, and the tangy pickles are a great contrast to the meat. That is, if you like dill pickles. There is a decent covered outdoor play area for the kids along with a few arcade games. Which makes this place great for families.

Hubby’s is a Kennewick staple and family owned business. Great service and pizza is very good!

Locals like it. I’m a transplant. Perhaps that’s my problem. Spoiled with places like Zeeks, Pagliacci and Flying Squirrel in Seattle this place was sub par. It’s small and cramped. Half of the place was reserved for kids birthday parties. As you walk in its confusing. No one greets you. seat yourself? guess so. Order at the counter. Okay. Counter ladies were nice. hubby’s has obviously been around awhile and probably hasn’t changed much since opening. The crust was bland and crunchy. My mouth was sore after eating a few slices. It reminded me of store brand frozen pizza. Sauce was meh. Toppings were plentiful. That was nice. Cheap paper plates. I thought the paper plates were make shift hot plate holders. Nope. That’s what you eat off of. The playground outside is a nice idea. It’s old and run down. you have to watch the smaller ones the the older children are not being supervised by their adults and will run them down. It did keep my kids entertained for the wait time. i wouldn’t eat out there. It looked filthy and forgotten. We won’t go back.

We hadn’t been here in a very long time but really wanted a good taco pizza so we gave it a try. First of all nobody greated us, the phone rang as we were waiting to order and the girl answered it still saying nothing to us. There were seriously 10 employees behind the counter that had no idea what to do. We ordered a small taco pizza and a medium combo pizza and 2 drinks for $ 50. We ordered our food at 7:24 and our food wasn’t ready until 8:04!!! Really! When we did finally get out food, it was nothing impressive… no taste, the crust wasn’t even tasty! They had paper plates that were flimsy and you had to grab your own plastic utensils. They did had napkins at the table, thanks! Will not be returning! Big disappointment!

Tonight we took our family 7 to hubby’s after a swim meet. We walked in the door at 9pm starved. As we went up to order we noticed the salad bar was already closed. Nobody wanted pizza without salad so we left and went somewhere else. Closing time was stated as 945. So why is the salad bar closed at 9?

As much as I would love to support local and give this old time pizzeria spot a better review, I just can’t. I’d be lying to myself and my city. I don’t consider myself a Dave Ramsey of pizza, but I know overpriced pizza for low quality taste when I taste it. Let’s start with a simple Hawaiian. For a large Hawaiian with one additional toppings, it would cost me well over $ 25…I gave it a shot. The sauce was over spiced by oregano and plain. The salad bar. The salad bar was well kept, and apparently the owner felt it was worth more then it looked. It offered basic toppings for a small salad around $ 7 price. Seating is crammed. The kids play area looks like it hasn’t been maintained since the 80’s. My kids had to manually pull the carousel around… Need I say more? Sorry Hubby’s!

I really want to like Hubby’s Pizza. It has been in business for a long time and a Tri-Cities staple. I recently visited for lunch and had the 8.29 $(pee wee pizza) and an ice tea, which put me up over $ 10.00. The good: décor is old school and retro, without trying to be. It is independently owned and everyone needs to support the indie businesses The bad: A real pizza joint makes their own dough, there is no mistaking it, this pizza is made using frozen pre-made skins from Costco or some other supplier. There is a pile of the parchment paper used to separate the frozen skins stacked near a window in the kitchen. You cannot use frozen dough. It sucks. It tastes like a frozen pizza. The sauce is sweet and tastes more like ketchup than pizza sauce. The cheese is like rubber, not sure what fake/cheap mozzarella they are using, but it is bad, perhaps they could use it to erase the other food quality mistakes. Beer — 4 tap handles(bud, bud light, shock top, Michelob amber). Uhhh… a pizza joint with bad beer is so sad The salad bar looked sketchy, I will admit I did not look at it closely, and had intended to partake of the salad bar, but chose against it solely based on appearance. The value is crazy. If the food quality was there I would not mind playing a premium price, but the food quality simply isn’t there, so I leave feeling ripped off. I really want to like Hubby’s Pizza, but they need to make some serious changes

This place reminds me of chico’s pizza in Moses lake. Not as many toppings, but still really good. The people are friendly, and there is a casual, happy, family friendly feel. My kids really like the pepperoni pizza.

This is my favorite pizza place in the Tri-Cities. They have relatively thin crust, a ton of topping options, and pitchers for drinks. Good for both small and large groups, and they have a play area for kids. Hubby’s gets busy at times, so it helps if you call in your order ahead. Highly recommended!

This pizza place was the choice of my pregnant wife who was craving pizza. I would say right off the bat that the price is a bit high. I paid 30 dollars for a medium pizza with two waters and a salad bar. The salad bar was pretty good actually. The service staff was pretty nice to us. The pizza looks amazing and I feel you get a full pizza, no short changing on the size. The flavor was okay but I wasn’t into the crust. I like a more doughy crust. For thin crust lovers, this is a place for you. Overall it was better than Digorno but maybe not better than delivery.

We got a large sausage pepperoni pickle pizza for $ 26. Here’s how I get to 2 stars: Pizza taste was 3.5 stars. Pickles, super yum. Cheese, meh. Crispy edges, super yum. Crust overall taste, meh. It wasn’t particularly crispy or chewy, it tasted a bit like a frozen pizza crust. Kinda like a cracker that’s been sitting out for ages. However the pickles made for an especially delicious breakfast the next morning so overall I liked it. Price was kinda outrageous, so I give that 2 stars. How do you get from a 10.99 large pepperoni to a $ 26 large pepperoni sausage pickle pizza? Last time I checked, a handful of sausage and pickles doesn’t cost $ 15. Couldn’t believe their prices for own trip to the salad bar either — if I remember right it was 5 bucks for a small plate and 7 for a medium-ish plate. The salad bar looked sketchy so I wouldn’t have gotten a salad regardless. The environment gets 1 star. It is dark, dingy, and the staff don’t seem to take pride in this place at all. I don’t think this place has been updated once in the last 25 years since I came here as a young kid. What did it in for me though was the jar of Ragu alfredo sauce just sitting out on the main counter where we paid. Really? At least pretend like you make your own ingredients. In summary, I’d go here if someone else was paying but I would never spend my own money here. I can get infinitely better pizza from Brickhouse or even Papa Murphy’s or Round Table.

My husband and dropped in and picked up a couple of pizzas. One large and a small cheese. Cost around $ 40. A bit steep but we’ve had great pizzas here in the past(5 years ago). WORSTPIZZAEVER! I don’t know if they changes their cheese blend or sauce but whatever it was its not good. The up side is that it does great kid parties, has a full outdoor play area. So disappointed…

We just moved to town, and being the pizza lovers we are, we gave Hubby’s a try. I was confused when I walked in about where to go and where to look at a menu. We figured it out, ordered a very expensive pizza and went and sat at a sticky table to swat flies and wait a very long time for our food. It was not worth the money. It wasn’t gross food, but any pizza delivery chain is comparable quality for a much lower price. Won’t be going back.

Wanted to try something different with the family so gave Hubby’s a try. A lot of people like this place because it’s been here for over 30 years and hasn’t changed. I don’t have a long relationship with Hubby’s, but walking in you can certainly tell that the only thing that has changed is the price. To start the service isn’t all that great. It really isn’t clear what they have, what the price is, and even where you order. They advertise a large pepperoni pizza for 10.99. We got a half pepperoni and half pineapple which I wouldn’t think would be much more. The pizza ended up being over 20 bucks. Ouch! So after ordering we waited for the pizza. It ended up coming out burnt. The guy said he could remake it and for that much money I said yes of course. So we waited a bit more and the pizza then came. The pizza was ok. Nothing spectacular. The toppings are low quality but the crust is good. It reminds me of «80’s bowling alley pizza» for those who grew up in that era. The paper plates given are those super super cheap thin ones that the pizza pretty much can eat through. My kids went to play on the playground and i’m surprised they are able to have the equipment. I think I may have played on it 25 years ago and it’s not all that safe(we have come a long way). On top of that it seems to be mounted on cement foundation. A fall could be fatal. The equipment is interesting but probably time to get rid of it. All in all it’s ok but not great. I think people love it because they make the pizza the same way with the same ovens and haven’t changed a thing in the décor. They do have a pinball machine but it’s disappointing that they don’t have some good old 80’s arcade games. I mean it wouldn’t be hard to find a Ms. PacMan and perhaps a few more pinball games. Hubby’s is like a time machine back to the late 70’s/80’s. Nothing has changed but that has it’s pluses and minuses.
