What a great little spot to stop in on our road trip! Came because of the reviews, and really appreciated the fresh, homemade sandwiches, soup and salad. They don’t even have a freezer on premise — you can tell it’s all made fresh. Next time I drive through I need to try the gluten free biscuits and gravy…

Visiting from out of state and wanted to find a place with some fresh sandwiches and salads. Had wonderful service and the sandwiches, salads, and hot dogs were wonderful! Great little local spot and would highly recommend it!

Really enjoyed my lunch from here. I don’t like to eat fast food, so when I typed in salad and this place came up I was excited to go. I got half turkey sandwich, salad, and tomato basil soup. It was delicious, fresh, light, and filling. I have no complaints about the food and will definitely be eating there again. My only thought was that it smelt a little funny when I walked in, but I think that’s just the nature of an old building. It sure didn’t affect the food. Outdoor seating would be nice, as it’s so tiny inside and I would have liked to eat there but felt too close to everything being that I was a party of 1. I’ve already told a few friends about it I am changing my review from the above. I went for the first time this week– recommended to my health conscious mother. She is vegetarian and was excited to go try. The Unilocal page SPECIFICALLYSTATES«I make a very popular vegetarian sandwich». My mother, who is very kind and isn’t easy to displease, went in and immediately texted me saying she wasn’t impressed with the service. She had told the gal that her daughter recommended the place, the waitress recommended the Reuben to which my mom explained she was vegetarian. The worker replies«well I don’t know why your daughter recommended us then!». I was upset to hear of this kind of tone being spoken to a customer. Not sure I will be back now.

Great discovery on our way through. Service was good, attentive. Went out of the way to accommodate dietary needs(vegan/veggie), and it was all delicious!

Although the food was good, the service was very slow even though we were the only customers in the restaurant. I would order the food to go if I ate there again, as there was nothing that stood out in either the service or the décor to make me feel welcome and comfortable.

Mike’s Place is wonderful! We came for breakfast and the food was cooked perfectly, especially the bacon and eggs. Mike even came to our table to say hello. He told us about all the fresh, organic foods they carry, including the gluten free options available(which is important to our friend with Celiac’s). The space is homey and charming and the price was very reasonable. It had everything we were looking for, plus the service was friendly and fast. We loved it!

Breakfast now til 11am, which is great. We’ve been meaning to try Mike’s so we did finally. I had their breakfast special — crumbled biscuit, potatoes, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, and sausage gravy topped with cheddar. My husband had the corn beef hash. With all the hype this place got, we were disappointed. The food was good, but not great. The breakfast bowl suffered with average ingredients. It has potential, but fell short of my expectations. It was bland. My husband’s corn beef hash was good, but the sizing was awkward to eat. Chunks of potato were large and the corn beef was sliced into triangles. It was weird. It did have good flavor though and the jam with the toast was good. Overall not bad, but nothing that made us say«oh wow» and want to come back or rave to friends about. It’s cool they have some gluten free options, and lunch looks pretty good. This is not the best breakfast you’ll ever have, but it’s not bad.

On our way to Portland from Montana we stopped for a few hours in Kennewick to catch some sleep, in the morning we went to Mikes. My daughter had the kids stuffed biscuit with scrambled eggs and ham smothered in country gravy, and ate the whole thing, the biscuit was light and fluffy, and the combination had great flavor. I had the corned beef and red potatoes with two eggs over easy. It was delicious, I practically licked the plate. My wife had the BBQ roast beef omlet, I thought she was gonna lick her plate as well. I tried a bite of her omlet, great combination of flavors with the red onion, red potatoes and roast beef with bbq. The plates were all antiques including the awesome John Deer plate my daughters meal was served on.

When we tried to get a made to order breakfast, Mike talked us out of it and steered us toward the French toast and the stuffed biscuits and gravy. He was right to do so because he knows what he’s talking about. That was my favorite French toast ever(thick egg battered French bread, floating in syrup, topped with Almonds and powdered sugar– a custard like middle as it should be, and the almond flavoring did the trick). I’ll be heading to the gym to work off the stuffed biscuits and gravy– think cheese and sausage(we used that instead of ham) egg scramble inside a homemade biscuit topped with a legit sausage gravy– and we are super picky about our biscuits and gravy. Mike came back out and checked up on us– glad we stopped! I’ll be back!

I initially had a poor experience with the service, and wrote a negative review for Mike’s Place. However, Mike reached out to me, apologized, and thanked me for the feedback. He didn’t ask me to give him another chance or pressure me to change my review, but I appreciated that enough to try him out again. My second experience couldn’t have been more different. We were immediately greeted, sat, and drink orders were taken. The staff was very friendly and attentive, and gave great recommendations on the food. My wife had the Signature sandwich and pasta salad, and I ordered the Reuben and tomato bisque. Everything tasted fresh and delicious, and we were both very happy with our choices. We were both happy we gave it a second chance, and are looking forward to trying out breakfast!

Great food, real food! And the prices are reasonable. I had the one egg meal and with everything, it was more than I could eat. Service was personal & wonderful — Brian helped us start our morning right!

My husband and I just had an excellent breakfast. Mike is sourcing grass fed beef and organic produce to produce delicious food. Well worth a stop.

Ran in all hurried and the three of them expedited me for carry out. Had to choose between my clan chowder and wife’s broccoli, cheese and mushroom soup. Wife would not share, dang it. I usually get ham and cheese, but went for the house specialty chicken sandwich. Big chunks of chicken – not my favorite texture for a sandwich, but tasty. I will always support Mike, because he cares and is diligent.

Saw that this place had a high rating on Unilocal.Decided to give it a try. Glad we did. Clam Chowder A+, Signature Sandwich A+, Turkey wrap A+. My only regret was not ordering a big bowl of chowder.

Simple food… but amazing food. Mike’s not turning water into wine here, and he’s certainly not cooking up pork belly or other fancy things. He’s providing simple really high quality food at reasonable prices. Hands down the best clam chowder I’ve ever eaten, and that club sandwich was to die for. The place is maybe a little on the dingy side and I’m really glad there was a space heater out, because sitting by the windows is chilly. It’s a comfortable sort of place though– Mike will come out and check on you while you eat your food.

5 stars because… –Mike is in the back, cooking every single salad, panini, and dessert to order! Nothing is frozen, re-heated, or from a box. This is home cooking, from scratch, and done well –Impeccable service. Very attentive, bubbly, and sweet waitress –Grilled cheese with ham was served panini style, and loaded with ham. Tomato soups was served piping hot and loaded with flavor. Maybe the most impressive, however, was the side salad. This guy takes veggies seriously! I overheard the waitress say the veggies in the salad were fresh from the garden. Delish! –EATLOCAL. Keep places like this in business. Definitely worth a visit.

We were passing through on the way to Tahoe and found this place on Unilocal. We had breakfast and were so impressed, we ordered lunch to go. The place is clean even though it looks like the furniture is older and well used. For breakfast, we had the two eggs, two strips maple wood bacon, potatoes and toast. They had gluten free bread(I love bread but I can’t have wheat). Everything tastes fresh and delicious. Their soup of the day was a broccoli cheese and mushroom. My husband got it and loved it. He ordered the Signature to go and I had the turkey. Super yummy, super fresh and he tries to use organic or natural ingredients which is also a plus. Prices are reasonable too. The people here are very nice. The older woman helping us was quite sweet. I was going to take pictures, but we ate everything very quickly :/

This place has great sandwiches and also breakfast! Support this local restaurant. Great food and a fantastic price. I had the club sandwich and it was very fresh and filled me up. Biscuits and gravy are one of the best I’ve had. Check this place out.
