I cannot say enough about the food at this establishment. The BBQ is out of this world. My boyfriend may actually shed a tear if they close when they say they are(say it isn’t so!!!) as he would probably bathe in the BBQ rib sauce if he could. The fries are perfection. The pulled pork sandwich is piled sky high and is one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. We’ve also really enjoyed the brisket. I am sad that we stumbled upon this plate only a month or two ago. It is not much to look at it, but the food makes up for any aesthetic flaws. How we will miss this place! Please don’t close!!!

The BBQ here is excellent !! The rib tips and brisket are the best in town !!! I always have my sauce on the side, because I like to taste the meat the way it is. The brisket has the right amount of char and the rib tips just melt in your mouth.

This place is the real deal for Rib Tips! I have been here twice and both times the tips were the same, smokey, tender and the sauce is perfect. Even my hubby who is not a big rib guy loved them! They are super generous with the fresh cut fries, honestly, I think they could give a few less because you get so much meat you are stuffed and waste quite a few fries! All they need is some good mac and cheese and some desserts(peach cobbler, layer cake, banana pudding) and this place would be the whole package! Can’t wait to come back next time I need my rib fix!

Best BBQ in the Kenosha area. The owner, burt, is super friendly. Pulled pork sandwich was insanely good. Rib tip dinner is great too.

To clarify from the start, the food and service is 4 stars, the variety and price is 2. I’ve been to this place periodically over the past year and a half, but not in a while until today, Labor Day. I was available and they advertised being open so I made it a point to go. What they didn’t advertise is that they were not serving brisket or baked beans(which contain brisket) today. I wish I had known this in advance because I would have chosen to come a different day. When I got there, there were a few other changes from what I remember as well. First off, there is no longer a sauce station or seemingly any options other than the standard… what you get on your food is what you get, anything additional is 25c extra. I like their main sauce so this isn’t a big deal. In reviewing their menu, it seems they no longer offer ribs, only rib tips… a huge disappointment to come to a BBQ place and not be able to get ribs. I’m not a fan of rib tips(anyone’s) because of the bone and cartilage you always have to navigate through. Since I was unable to get brisket or beans, I called an audible and instead got a Chicago dog(w/fries)($ 3.50) and a ½ lb of pulled pork, no side($ 7). That plus my can of Coke in retrospect should have been $ 11.50, but I was charged $ 12.50; not sure if this was because I used a credit card, because the menu indicated the price included tax and there was no credit card fee listed. That dog price was fine, though it would have been nice if it included tomatoes and/or a pickle spear like other Chicago dogs. The bun was also a plain white one, would be nice if there was a poppy seed option or something a little more substantial. The fries included were excellent, good as advertised. I had to ask for ketchup(fries only, calm down hot dog fans!) because there are literally zero condiments available for eat-in, just plastic silverware and a roll of paper towels on each table. $ 7 or $ 8, whatever it is I actually spent on the pork included the sauce and bread, no sides, which puts it pretty close in price to Real Urban BBQ. The«dinners»(½/4 meats) only include fries, and are much more expensive than Dickey’s by the interstate, who isn’t quite as good but like Real Urban gives you a large number of side choices that B2DB doesn’t have…$ 10.50 there gets you 1 meat, 2 sides, and a roll whereas $ 11 gets you 1 meat and fries at B2DB. So my takeaway is this — you should go, but before you do, review the menu, possibly call ahead to ensure availability, but with that out of the way if what you want is available and you happen to live in or be in Kenosha, you will enjoy what you get, and the staff is very nice, in fact a breath of fresh air… I get tired of local places(Kenosha and otherwise) who allow themselves to be short and unfriendly because it makes no impact on their sales at the end of the day(*cough* all the Mike’s locations *cough*); this is definitely not one of those places.

I’ve been in Kenosha now for almost 6 weeks and I have been hunting down BBQ since I got here. I thought for sure my only option would be Famous Dave’s, however, I kept hearing about Bad 2 Da Bone so I looked it up online. I was happy to find it was also close to where I live! So, let’s get there. The place reminds me of a classic BBQ Rib joint in Chicago. It’s got that look and feel. And, if you’re not into BBQ, they also have a whole menu of Chicago style red hots, which is also nice. I’m a sucker for a good Maxwell St Polish. Anywho, I ordered a pound and a half of the rib tips with a side of cole slaw. It was phenomenal. Meat was clearly smoked perfectly, the sauce was a great cross between, sweet, tangy, and smoky, and the cole slaw, which is made in house, was fabulous. It was a bit more wet than I like my cole slaw, but it was still delicious. As I started to devour my meal, the gentlemen behind the counter came out and handed me a small order of piping hot french fries, explaining, «These were left over from the last order, please enjoy!» I will indeed sir! Great place, great service, and amazing food. Definitely a place I highly recommend!

Being that I’m from Tennessee I’ve had great barbeque, this place is ok. The sauce was too sweet and the pulled pork was dry. My fries were really greasy and the ketchup tasted like beer. My son enjoyed his rib tips, that is the only reason for two stars instead of one. Won’t be coming back. Can’t wait to get back to Tenn. For some«REALBARBEQUE»

Simply not the best bbq. I have had way better. Bbq sauce has an off flavor. They don’t do bbq chicken quarters, just deep fried wings WTF? Pull pork did not have a very deep smoke flavor. They smoke with a pellet smoker which in my opinion does not serve justice to a true bbq expierience. The bun used for the sandwiches are too sweet as far as bread buns go. I don’t think I can recommend this place unless the improve some things.

Okay where to start, first off I will say that this is a pretty typical ‘hood’ joint. It’s not fancy and to some the location may seem a bit sketchy. This doesn’t phase me in the least considering many of my faves fit the same description. Overall the place appears pretty clean no red flags there, though the inside table I sat at was bordering on being a bit sticky. As usual I went with the sampler the first time to try as many of the meats as I could. For 18 bucks I received fair portions of the pulled pork, brisket, rib tips, and a hot sausage as well as an order of fries that was very generous. Again not the best value but I didn’t feel cheated either. Let me get the negatives out of the way first since I am giving a fairly low rating. The sausage was comparable to the ones you get at Aldi’s at 5 bucks a dozen, OK flavor but a bit greasier than I like and very salty. The rib tips didn’t make much sense by all rights the interior was very well cooked even the cartiledge was tender enough to eat without feeling like you were gnawing on a bone, unfortunately this was over shadowed by the exterior that was so tough I’ll be picking pieces of it out of my gums for a week. If I had to guess I’d say they were boiled then cooked to death at a bit too high of a heat in the smoker. The sauce everything was slathered in reminded me of open pit and there were no other options offered if they do have any alternates. A good sauce can make me overlook a lot of flaws in the meat but this was not a good sauce. Most disappointing though was the brisket, I’ve eaten BBQ all over the country and this is the first time the brisket was served in one big chunk as opposed to being sliced across the grain to counteract the tendency for it to be very stringy. It was also very dry and overcooked, the flavor was good but it was way too much work to chew and cutting it with the plastic knife provided simply wasn’t an option. On the plus side giving it the second star was the pork which was tasty and tender, still served in considerably larger chunks than is the norm but in this case that was okay it fell apart easily on it’s own. I would definitely get the pork again though I think I’d opt for it unsauced and take it home to use my own BBQ sauce next time. In light of the glowing reviews of others I will hope I just caught them on an off day at a bad time(3 pm on a Monday) If they can do the other meats as well as the pork this would be my go to BBQ joint in town(again if I provided my own sauce) but considering 3 of the 4 meats were sub par I’m not sure I’ll ever bother to find out. Overall I’d say you could do worse, but without driving too much further you can also do a lot better. ***added after the initial review in response to a reply from the owner The positive comments regarding customer service appear to be completely justified, I received a message both apologizing for the above experience and an offer to make it right, as well as clarification of a few points regarding the tips and sausage. First the tips are not boiled and are smoked twice a day(which could easily explain the toughness since I was dining smack dab between the traditional lunch and dinner hours so may have just missed them in their prime. This could also explain the brisket, though I’d still prefer it sliced thinly across the grain as opposed to a big ol’ chunk, even tender brisket can be mighty stringy served that way. Secondly the sausages are in fact a pretty popular Chicago brand(which I knew I’d recognized I just pegged it wrong) As a rule I’m not a fan of salty foods preferring high spice levels over salt but I know I am the exception on this in many cases. Regardless while I stand by my initial assessment based on the somewhat neutral sauce(I’m a big fan of a spicy or sweet Memphis style personally) and the meat that I was served being tough in 2 of 3 examples I am going to raise my rating by a star and make a point of going back to try some of the other offerings, maybe closer to lunch or dinner time.

Overall the food was better than average. I ordered take out & had the 4 meat combo. The menu on the wall said it came with fries, but when I got home there where none. My wife got the pulled pork sandwich. I thought the 4 meat sampler was pretty damn good, but not worth $ 18. It wasn’t overflowing with meat by any means. You could see the crust on all 4 slices of white bread in the container with scoops of meat in the middle of each slice. I ordered baked beans, these were really good. Wife ordered potato salad, it was decent but too many onions for me. We also got cheese fries. Fries were soggy without a lot of cheese on them. My wife said her pulled pork sandwich was really good. Some of the other reviewers said that the owner/workers were friendly, but nobody there seemed overly friendly to me. I stood looking at the menu for at least a minute before anyone said a word. Not the end of the world for me, but it didn’t scream friendly in my opinion. I’ll definitely try it again.

If you’re looking for BBQ in the area, you are not going to find better food than this place. At this point I’ve tried just about everything on the menu, would recommend the pulled pork or brisket sandwich. Rib tips are also awesome(this coming from someone who usually doesn’t like rib tips) Next time you’re thinking of going to Hillaries or some other chain, give this place a try. Guarantee you’ll come back. As others have said, owner is very friendly. You will feel welcome.

After reading great reviews, I decided to try Bad 2 Da Bone for lunch and to pick up some of their BBQ Pork which they list online as selling by the ½ pound. I’m going to start with the bad… since there isn’t much that can’t be fixed fairly easily:. 1. There are no prices on their menu board so I had no clue how much the items were going to be that I was purchasing. 2. They were out of BBQ Pork and had been since the night before. But it was still listed on the special board up front. I went in on a Saturday and I would think a BBQ place would want to make sure that they had BBQ for a busy weekend. 3. The location is a little tricky since I almost drove past it and parking is off street but a bit difficult to manuever out of if you have a vehicle of any decent size. Now for the good. 1. The food– I ordered the Italian Beef with sweet peppers. They serve it as they do in the city(Chicago) and even ask wet or dry. Nice flavor and great bread. The peppers didn’t have much flavor. They just tasted like deep fried green pepper pieces without seasoning but they still gave a nice little additional flavor to the sandwich. The fries are obviously fresh cut. They were good… perfect amount of salt. I sampled the beef brisket which was tender and very tasty as well as a chicken wing that the owner said can be done(9 ways I believe). I think the one I tried was a parmesan wing and it was so good. Crispy with a nice flavor on it. 2. The service– The owner and cook were very friendly and took great care of me. The kitchen is open and the cook was also super friendly-both making sure that I was happy and having a great experience. It’s a small place and the two of them made it feel very warm and welcoming. I wasn’t number 11 waiting for my food. I was one of their guests. All in all, I have no doubt this place would have a line out the door if they were located in one of the newer strip malls west of 31 where all the heavy traffic is. Despite the minor location/logistics invonvenience, I had a nice lunch and will definitely be back with my husband to try their BBQ pork!

Very impressive! Everything was delicious and well prepared. The fries and beans were fantastic. Usually places like this have frozen crappy fries but these were fresh and crispy and great!

all your Chicago favorites under one roof. Outstanding Chi-Town style dogs and beefs, hand formed burgers, fresh cut fries, as well as award winning BBQ(pulled pork, briskets, ribs, and rib tips) Oh yeah the tortilla dogs are a must on any visit. like the old Chicago made Jays Potato Chips motto. bet you cant eat just one. Independent family owned place that genuinely cares about what they are serving you unlike the the corp owned chains. Prices are competetive and cheaper than a lot of BBQ and beef joints in the Chicagoland area.

I got a bunch of food to go the other night… a half rack of ribs, and the meat sampler platter. Everything was great! The ribs were meaty and sauced just right… the pulled pork and beef were delicious, as was the sausage. For two bucks you can get sides like fresh cut fries, coleslaw or potato salad. I plan to go back and try the burger and Italian beef sandwiches. I’m wondering about the grilled salami too… never heard of it but might have to try it.

New BBQ place? Um, yeah, I’m there. This little joint(CASH only) in Kenosha opened a week ago. It’s not fancy, but it’s got a casual, fun feeling where you can just hang. Anytime I try new BBQ, the combo plate is what I get to see what the place has to offer. I shared the 4 meat combo of pulled pork & beef, smoked sausage &3 baby back ribs, as well as a side of hand cut fries. Other side options were coleslaw, chili, soup or the like, but, come on– hand cut fries! :) My favorites of the meats were definitely the ribs and pulled pork. The pulled meats in that combo were quite generous. I’d enjoy a pulled pork sandwich next time. Moist with great smoke flavor and it wasn’t overloaded with sauce– which as a purist, I appreciate. You get sides of 2 different sauces if you want to add more. The oak-smoked ribs, which won some awards, were delicious & meaty. I could’ve eaten more of those. Actually, even with sharing our combo, we were quite full; very plentiful helpings. You definitely get your money’s worth!(Ok, we also shared an Italian beef. So we were beyond full! Lol) I really enjoyed the smoked sausage but forgot to ask for it charred which I will next time since that’s my preference. Also, I usually don’t expect much from an Italian beef, cuz I definitely have my favorites, but this one was pretty darn close to my favorite place. I forgot to ask for it «wet». That’s the only thing I’d improve on the beef, but that was my own fault. This is a really new, family owned start up business, so I’m impressed with how good things were a week in. As the business grows & improves, I’m hoping the food will be a bit more«piping hot», & for a brewed ice tea option, & on this cold day, the dining room was a bit chilly for me. I know from conversations while there, they are very conscious of tweaking & making changes & improvements, so I wouldn’t be afraid to voice any suggestions to them since they seem motivated to excel. We are definitely going back. They offer the usual suspects of Chicago dogs, dragged thru the garden, burgers, wings and more. But what I really want to try is the«tortilla dog” — a dog wrapped in a tortilla, deep fried, and optional chili poured over it! Whaaaat? That’s just crazy enough to be awesome! If you try it first, let me know. :))
