I go there for the Sunday football. No college crowds on that day and the food is pretty good. Summer with the deck is great, and they have good specials. Not pricy like Buffalo Wild Wings. You do need to go to the bar to place your order though. May not be the latest and greatest or trendy, but every time I’ve been there, I’ve had no problems.

Are you 18 – 21? Are you in college? Do you consider Smirnoff to be top shelf? If you answered yes to any of the above questions, this is the bar for you!

This bar is a menace to the neighborhood and dangerous to everyone living near by. It serves patrons way beyond intoxication and should be shut down. There is an apartment complex right across the street full of families with young children. One of Somer’s House patrons broke into one of the tenants homes a few weeks ago by kicking in the front door and then passed out in her 5 year old daughters bed! When the police came he admitted he drank at Somer’s House to the point of being so intoxicated he didn’t know where he was and just passed out. He didn’t remember kicking in the door or going to sleep in a child’s bed. He is a recent MSOE engineering graduate and was arrested for breaking and entering. This bar should be shut down for overserving anyone and everyone that walks in. The owner is responsible and liable for the damage caused to the apartment complex. Worse may happen if something is not done to make the area safe — that responsibility is the owners.

College bar aside, I .ike to review bars and this place with its old house setting and outdoor patio looks much cooler than many bars in the twin cities of coastal Southern Wisconsin. They have a midget wrestling event in late Auguast and this bar is great if you are part of the local college social scene. It also happens to be a cool looking bar making me wish I was 21 again. Good dri is and service and the college kids were respectful compared to some bars of idiots my age or older.

I can’t even believe I’m giving this place a 1 star. Horrible. Service was terrible. My chicken was nearly raw. Save yourself the time of going to this hell hole. Not worth it one bit.

Sommer’s house is a great place to hang with friends. The downside it that it is super packed with college student. Not that that is a bad thing, but if your looking for a relaxing night this is not the place.

Somers House is the A-typical college bar, expect this in deciding to stop here. Some of the reviews are bashing the House, but honestly, this place must be taken as-is. If you come here expecting a high-class atmosphere or anything other than a college party(one that you pay for your beers instead taking trips to the keg), then you’ll be disappointed. However, if you don’t mind a bunch of bros, college kids, and townies, then stop on in. There are plenty of decent drink deals and summer leagues to join. If you’re familiar with Kenosha, then understand a bar like this is essential for the area. UW-Parkside and Carthage are within five miles, and Kenosha lacks places for everyone to go to. Sure, the service can be better. Sure, the ratio of dudes to chicks is 5:1. When kids are losing their minds at midterm, a place like this is the perfect escape to let loose.

Really should have a minus star. Dan P is correct in his review. Unlike Dan I am much older. My wife and I tried to get service on two different attempts. The bar staff are more interested if you are a college student. There are far better establishment in the Kenosha area with great food and better service.

«The House» is definitely your stereotypical college bar. It’s never going to exceed a «mediocre» rating for multiple reasons. I walked inside the place, and the floors are all torn up, the tables were dirty, and it completely lacked direction for a customer. I wasn’t greeted by a waitress, she just informed me that«all domestic pitchers tonight are $ 1». At the time, I was under 21, and so were my friends. We originally went there because they litter my college campus with their advertisements in the residence halls and in the parking lots-not overly appreciated by me. But, my friends and I wanted to try some of their menu items, so we paid«the House» a visit. I replied to the waitress«we’re not 21», so she asked why we came to a bar to start out with, and that was not appreciate by us. I have a problem with underage drinking, I immediately didn’t comfortable that this place could serve minors alcohol. Clearly, the waitress didn’t know that her bar posts ads all the time on my college campus, and didn’t respect the fact that my friends and I were under 21, but still wanted to try their food. So we sit down, and my friends were uncomfortable with the dirty, scratched tables, and just the general atmosphere-it in fact, was the stereotypical«college bar», we didn’t enjoy it. After a few minutes of absorbing the place, we got curious where and when we going to get service. I thought maybe the waitress would come back and take our food orders, but that wasn’t the case. All in all, we were there about 15 minutes, and then we agreed to just leave. Culver’s won my business that day. If you want a cheap beer or simple cocktail, go ahead and go to the Somers House. Like I said, it’s a typical college bar with both Carthage College and UW-Parkside in the near vicinities. But to an average customer, it’s not the place I’d go to again. I can’t view the establishment as a respectable one, they really don’t value the customer. If you want a simple place to get drunk for the night, they’ve got the room, beer pong tables, and space out back on their patio for that. But if you want a classier, more respectable, cleaner place, Buffalo Wild Wings is by I-94 exit 344.

This was my bar in college. It was not out of the ordinary to be there every night of the week. Daily specials(bacon on mondays, long islands on wednesdays to name a few) and familiar bartenders are enough to keep people coming in time and time again. Be warned– its college kids and townies. Which might be your scene. I still enjoy going back and reliving my glory days. Nothing makes me giggle more than the girls who get all tramped up to hang out at this sports bar. Big TVs sports memorabilia cover the walls, sometimes they have a DJ and tables get cleared away for a makeshift dancefloor. Nothing says shake your groove thing like sharing your dance partner with the 50 yr old lady in a belly shirt who’s had a few too many cans of beer. The deck is what makes this place for me. Once the weather warms up its the place to be. Big yard out back for bags and beer olympics. Only thing I have to hate on– the bathrooms. On a good night the toilets in the ladies will stay unclogged til about 1130. Yes, both of them will back up. I usually just stick to the mens room– I’m classy like that. I hear they serve food here– I haven’t braved it yet. Keep posted.

Massive Long Islands. College. Awesome. I miss you. Stop in any night of the week. More enjoyable in the summer with the patio open. Then again, what place with a patio isn’t?
