Found this place on Unilocal,and read a few great reviews and figured we’d try it out. Super glad we did, this is how pizza is suppose to be! Super friendly staff, fantastic spinach and feta pizza, and a calzone our daughter will be finishing for breakfast. Well done guys! Here’s another great review to add to the list. Located right next to Woodman’s, I found the inside nicely styled and clean. There is indoor and outdoor seating and the service I received was excellent. The pizza was NY style and it was delicious. A very good place for pizza.

The food it’s great. The service is better. Centrally located for easy access on and off the interstate but close enough to run out for lunch too. Pizzas by the slice are perfect for light meals, kids our an excuse to try every flavor without breaking the bank. Speaking of — the price is on point as well.

Wow, really, really good. Crust is thin yet chewy, toppings are fresh & plentiful. Got the Bianca with pepperoni & mushrooms & it was just perfect. Came out pretty quick too! Staff was incredibly friendly as well. Place is nice & clean. Price wasn’t bad, not cheap, but it was well worth the money. I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area.

Finally, a great New York pizza. Living on Chicago’s North Shore, I have been searching both the city and suburbs for this.
This is the real thing. Had the pizza both by the slice and took one home. The type of pizza one would find in NYC that you pick up, fold and eat. If you prefer it crispy, they will make it that way.
Watched them make a calzone to order. It was huge. They told me that their bread for subs is made there daily, as are the deserts. I will be sure to try the cheesecake next time. Very nice people, as well.

We were here from out of town and staying in a local hotel and needed something quick and easy and we got the most amazing pizza! Along with fabulous friendly service. Highly recommend!

I’ve never been to NY, but if this is the type of pizza they’re known for I’ll stick with my Chicago deep dish…
But seriously, this Pizza is damn good. Service was friendly & it’s a great option to stop in and get a slice for lunch.

What a wonderful place! All food from appetizers, pizza, salad, and dessert are swesome. Kids love the pizza here and if they are happy, my wife and I are happy.

The passion that the owner brings to this place alone should bring a smile to anyone’s stomach. The atmosphere is a blend of casual dining, with a dash of sports bar, and hammered with that New York smell of good ol’ fashioned Italian pizzeria.
You can tell when a place is loved. And the love is baked into each pizza slice, garlic knot, and breadstick. Ask the owner what’s on the «secret» menu. He’ll cook up stuff that’s not even on the wall. Trust me, the guy is great, and he will make sure you’re happy. He even asked what I cared to watch on the television. The pizza combo I had was delicious. I will definitely order a large pizza from this guy any day of the week. He will put the nextdoor Pizza Hut out of business LOL.
The staff is family to the owner! And you know that if they keep their staff in the family, the food is sure to be excellent. Not a franchise and built to suit the pizzeria the owner wanted (complete with gas ovens!) you won’t be disappointed.
Also, he has a sweet patio with a fireplace that’s lit in the evening air. Fun for groups, friends, family, or that romantic date I’m certainly taking advantage of when I get the chance. Give this man your business, and leave happy knowing your hard earned dollars are not going to a corporation but to a man who truly treats the customer with respect, honesty, and delivers that good Italian food.

Whoa! Want to be reminded what really good pizza taste like? This place has it! It’s clear that fresh and high quality ingredients are used here, which was confirmed by the friendly owner who chatted with me as I ate my slice before I headed back on the road. I often find myself driving on I-​94 and getting off the 344 exit to get gas. I’m often hungry, but the exit is pretty heavily littered with chains or heavy greasy food joints. I was excited to find this local business and plan to make many more stops in the future as I pass through. The pizza was filling, but I did not feel weighed down. The crust was crispy and tasty. Can’t wait to try their other slices! There was such a great selection I had trouble choosing. I am already day dreaming about my next visit here.

4 of us ordered spinach & feta, meat & sausage calzones which were so good that on the way out I got 3 different slices of pizza to go. Oh yeah and the fried ravioli with marinara sauce was great also.

We visited this place for the first time this past weekend. What a pleasant surprise! There is something about the atmosphere. Even though you are ordering at the counter, it is just so beautiful and feels so nice inside, you don’t mind that it’s not more fancy. They have a beautiful outdoor space, which we will definitely try when it warms up. I ordered a calzone, which was absolutely enormous! The only thing that was less than perfect was the green olives, which were sort of bland, but the rest was awesome. My husband ordered the Stromboli, which was packed with meat and spicy pepperoni. Highly recommended! And the people are super nice as well.

The food was absolutely amazing! Crispy pizza made with fresh ingredients. The calzone was ridiculously large and ridiculously delicious. Greta atmosphere accompanied by a caring staff. I wish this restaurant was closer by the lake because I think it’s outside patio would be amazing downtown. This won’t stop me from returning though. Such a great experience and I highly recommend eating here.

Before you read this review you should know something about me. I have been in the hospitality industry for over 20 years now and I live and breathe it. When I go out to eat I basically just observe all the behaviors of the staff of the establishment of which on eating at. Now on the Dolce Vita.
The building itself is very «fresh» looking and is very clean. The interior is also very nice and would be a nice place to sit and have a meal. The pizza preparation area is right out where everyone can see it and that is a major risk that can come back to bite other places but this concept seems to be working. Please please just keep it clean and organized.
The slice of pizza and garlic knot I ordered were fantastic! The pizza had a nice soft chewy crust and the topping were plentiful and fresh as well. The cheese tasted as if it was real cheese but didn’t taste like a 100% mozzarella blend. I’m curious to know what it is. The sauce was applied perfectly and wasn’t too little nor too much. The garlic knot was a f***ing home run! If you go there and don’t like it then your an idiot. Plain and simple.
Bottom line, would I go back? Yup!

We found Dolce Vita by chance on a Monday night after 9:00. Not exactly prime time for any restaurant! When we entered, we were warmly welcomed instead of getting the «almost-​closing-​time» cold shoulder some places would greet you with at that time of night. The staff were professional and smiling. We chatted with the friendly owner (Steve) while our pizza baked. We enjoyed the clean, modern yet casual atmosphere and listening to Sinatra while eating our pizza. The pizza was absolutely delicious — the sauce wasn’t too sweet and the toppings were fresh and proportioned just right. To top it off, we had cannolis — you’ve got to try the chocolate! Dolce Vita is a 45-​minute drive from home, but this will be a weekend pizza road trip destination for us! Thank you, Steve!
