I believe that if you go to this gym to learn how to box and train with Daniel Nieves, that he will be the standard to which you hold any coach in the future. Not just any«boxing» coach, but any coach. Period. He has a way of relating information, tailoring it to the individual. He brings out your individual strengths by taking the fundamentals of boxing and drilling those into you, while allowing your style/expression to blossom. He is stern and matter-of-fact without squashing your spirit. Somehow he knows how to free it and bring out the greatness you only thought you knew was there. When I needed help with basketball, he helped me to improve. When I wanted to compete in the Golden Gloves, he helped me to prevail. I have taken his instruction with me in the ring, in my coaching and in my profession. I think that one of the most valuable lessons I learned from him is that even when you are the teacher-especially then-you should remain humble and continue to seek knowledge. Wait, there’s another one-never give up on myself. If you really want to challenge yourself and to grow, then you need to train here. No excuses.
