Grimstad Farms

I am rating as a vendor of a wedding. It is owned/​ran by a husband/​wife. I was working with the wedding planner and was told where to set up my equipment. I was immediately approached by the man owner and told I could not set up there. The man was extremely rude in his demeanor. I kindly informed him that the wedding planner and the bride wanted me there. He told em he was the owner and it was going to be his way. While setting up my other setup by the pond the grass was wet. I placed my equipment on the gravel to avoid water damage and the Female Owner was on her 4-​wheeler. She rudely yelled at me to move my equipment so she could drive by. I kindly told her the grass was wet and I would move it in just a second (as my hands were fun at that time. She continued to tell me to move my «SH-​T NOW» and I told her I would in just a second. I asked her why she could not drive on the grass. She said it was «The good grass». I moved my equipment promptly. The lady drove off with a hateful expression on her face. Within a few minutes the man approached me, got in my face and told me do not ever disrespect his wife again. This was done in front of the entire wedding crowd. I told him we need to go to another place and talk. He continued to yell at me making claims that I disrespected his wife. I asked him what I did that was so wrong, he said that I was on his property and I will do things HIS way. I asked again what I did that was so wrong. He could not answer me. I said I was sorry for whatever I did that was so bad. The crowd watched the entire thing and was commended on how well I handled the drama. I asked the lady when I saw her next what i did that was so wrong. She said I was a «young punk» and she walked away. The wedding planner told me she experienced similar behavior from both of them and she would never use the facility again. I fulfilled my obligation to the wedding party, only with the owner hovering over me throughout the entire wedding. I still to this day do not understand what was going on, but I am not a «young punk», I am actually retired US Military and very respectful. The venue is a novelty, but the vibe is timid and not inviting. During the wedding ceremony the owner walked next to the father of the bride to assure he stayed on the path and not deviate. This delayed the entire wedding ceremony! I would NOT recommend this venue based on the experience both me and the wedding planner had.

I would recommend this place to anyone I recently had my wedding there they were amazing in helping out everything setting up tearing down making sure that everything went as smooth as it should be I found them at a bridal show and went and looked at the place they showed me everything around the vicinity told me that all of everything on the property I could use as long as nothing was destroyed it is cheap for everything that you get but it is not trashy it is elegant and super pretty

This is such a cute piece of life with great staff.
They do antique sales on occasion which initially got my interest. Their wares for antiques were unique and high quality with a lot of options from the days gone by.
As for the location and facilities, this is a great spot for a wedding, a party or pictures. Their Brides Room is inside a silo and it is a wonderful layout where the primping and prepping would be enjoyed by all the girls. It has a fanciful feel about it with a country twist-​naturally.
The grooms room is like a hunting cabin, very outdoor masculine. The bachlors and groom to be would have a great time getting ready here.
The rest of the facility is very country. It has a great little western town feel as there are other small houses that house antiques.
The Barn is GREAT with wonderful features and large open space upstairs.
There is plenty of parking, my only gripe is that this could potentially be a muddy and or slippery experience. One spot outside of the barn had iced over and could have been quite a tumble.

Hosted a John Deere themed 70^th birthday party for my husband. The venue was excellent and I can’t say enough about the assistance I received from the owners. They went above and beyond to help gather JD items, make the décor appropriate and even provided JD tractors. All the guests in attendance remarked how great the place was. I highly recommend Grimstad Farms and working with Ron & Connie. A great place to have a party, wedding or any family function. I would not hesitate to use Grimstad Farms again in the future.

I recently attended a fundraiser here, the event itself was great. And I can tell you that the place really is a farm, with a barn and everything. You can rent it out for weddings, parties, banquets, BBQs etc…
For the event I attended it worked out fine. The upstairs of the barn was where the silent auction was held, it was hot and dark up there not the best place to place the silent auction but that’s not the farms fault it was the organizers fault. I do want to note that if you attend a non causal event here and are a female be selective in your foot ware. You have to park in cut hay that has horse pooped mixed in with it to get to the barn. Than from the barn to the tent you have to walk across rocks, lots of rocks, so heals are not a good idea here, no they aren’t because if you’re like me you might end up with a twisted ankle because heals and rocks and me = disaster.
In the big tent they had set up out back was where our event was officially held and they had this curb running down the middle of the tent so again be careful walking because you might trip on it. Oh and spray bug repellent on your ankles because you might get seated at table in the grass and there were all kinds of insects nibbling at my twisted ankle.
I think it would be a nice place for a birthday party or maybe a company party but I can’t see myself wanting to attend a ‘formal’ (meaning non-​fleece) event here but that’s just me I’m city girl I don’t do hay or bugs or horse poop.
