Happy Donuts

Staff is always nice. We’ve made this place part of our routine whenever we can. Fresh donuts and coffee. Would definitely recommend it to anyone in the area. A local favorite for sure.

You can’t have a business ran like this one. They open say at 8 am. By 9:30/10 am they are sold out. Then they just close the store. No type of warning to their customers who come during their advertised business hours. Either change the store advertised hours or make more products aka donuts. Do they taste good? How Could I know when I can never purchase one during their business hours. Come here at the minute they open their door and then maybe you can tell me how good they are.

The hubby said these were his favorite in the area… Which may not be saying much since Kent doesn’t have very many options… But at least we know there’s an option now lol

Best donuts ever! I remember when they used to be in the building where the O’reilly auto parts store is next to Value Village. I’ve been going here since I was a little kid in elementary school!!! My dad would bring me donut holes as I waited for the bus in the morning before school. This will always be my favorite place! FYI The earlier you go In the better. They don’t make donuts all day and have a lot of regular customers that come early, so don’t expect to go in an hour before close to find an wide variety, by that time everything is almost gone.

Went here around 2 in the afternoon on my lunch break, they only had two flavors out. Smh. And i waited for 15 minutes for service, but the lady at the counter was too busy talking to even greet me or take my order. Wont be back here.

I’ve lived nearly 5 minutes from Happy Donuts for the past 7+ years and have never tried it… Boy, was I missin’ out!
My boyfriend and I have decided to make Donut Fridays a thing, and Happy Donuts is the closest. We showed up at 5 am (ugh) and of course, the donut case was full as could be and no other customers in sight.
The décor of this place isn’t fancy at all — you can tell they haven’t updated anything in a while. Lots of old drawings and paintings on the wall. One cute touch that I noticed is that they have a couple photo collages hung up with pictures of regulars, stating how long they’ve been a regular.
They have pretty much every donut you could ever want… I can’t even name all of them because there were so many. I ended up getting the olé’ rusty trusty… A maple bar; because if your maple bars aren’t good, then you’re a shitty donut place (in my opinion). And it just so turns out that it was amazing! It was light and fluffy, like a donut should be, and the maple glaze was sooo good. My boyfriend let me try his maple cinnamon pinwheel (just a big round maple glazed donut with cinnamon sugar laced throughout it), and it was such a great twist on a regular maple bar. So good! They also have ANOTHER version of that — basically the same thing but with chopped nuts on top.
Only thing that I didn’t like about this place was the service. I understand that it was early, but I’ve worked EARLIER than that in a customer service environment and faked my way through it. Cold shoulders and attitude isn’t okay no matter what time of the day it is.
They have great donuts though, so a four star it is.

Let’s start off with the service, they are an A+++. If you don’t get there quick enough, you will run out of options. The lady that runs the shop will take orders over the phone so you can reserve your donuts — I know that sounds super greedy, but it’s not. Happy Donuts fulfills a ton of orders for offices and businesses especially on Fridays. I sometimes like to take a box in for my crew or my daughters daycare staff.
The donut holes are my family’s favorite. We get a dozen for 1.65 (I think?) and it’s enough to for the 4 of us. But they have delicious glazed and cake donut assortments and I don’t think I’ve had a donut I didn’t like. They’re all FRESH and always delicious!

The doughnuts tasted great BUT I found more than 3 hairs in my Bavarian cream doughnut. Hair nets or something have got to be used. The variety was a little lacking as well.

The donuts were delicious! My favorite were the raspberry filled. Not as good selection as early, early morning but the donuts were delicious nonetheless!!! We got apple fritters, maple bars, and jelly filled.

I am sad. My friend and I are avid doughnut fans and we were on a quest. We pulled up to an empty parking lot with a sad storefront. I try not to let outter appearances detour me… I shouldn’t have gone in. They were out of my favorite doughnuts (first red flag) and when I asked the girl what they were famous for she said she didn’t know (second red flag). We ended up getting two chocolate maple bars.
They were sad excuses for doughnuts. My friend ate half of his all the while complaining about how bad it was and advised me not to eat mine. I opted for a bite of his. One bite. I still have that taste in my mouth. It was bland… and just no.
I feel bad leaving such a negative review but nothing makes me sadder than bad food.

YUMMY! but get there early before they sell out and close, oh and bring cash because they don’t take credit/​debit cards… oh and bring $ 20 if you plan on getting a dozen because a dozen of donuts will run you about $ 14…ouch, but oh so yummy!

These have to be the best donuts in Kent. They are fresh, flavorful, and delicious!
Prices are reasonable and the staff is very friendly.
Get there early in the morning for the best selection. Also, do not pass up a maple old fashioned or you will greatly regret it.

Delicious! Once in a while I’ll treat myself to a yummy apple fritter from happy donuts. They’re pretty amazing and packed full of apples, love that they’re not so thick but thin enough that they have a nice crunch to them. My son loves their cake donut with the white frosting and sprinkles on top, and he usually only eats the frosting of his donuts but he devours all of these ones. Really yummy maple bars too! And you can’t beat the prices!

Best donuts in kent! There curlers are the best along with the chocolate bar and fritter. I used to go there as a kid before soccer games and it just brings back memories.

At 7am, there were people inside just hanging out, eating donuts and drinking hot beverages. It was like a small town gathering. I bet this is the type of place that remembers your orders when you come in. It had that kind of «Norrrrrrm!» Cheers-​type feel.
Establishment was clean, free of anything unpleasant for the nostrils to detect and I was welcomed with what seemed like a genuine smile. Again, Cheers.
I order a two dozen assortment and she gave me just about everything they had sans the bacon maple bars. America is getting nuts with the bacon, but you didn’t hear that from me. Cause bacon lovers tend to get a little wild like those guys trying to get you to chew more gum in those Stride commercials.
I digress.
These donuts were fresh. I mean, every definition of the word starting back in the 90s fresh. I had a chocolate éclair and a maple bar. The éclair was soft and the chocolate frosting just draped over the sides of the donut. You could literally see where the chocolate was left off when it was applied. Something about a not-​so-​neat spreading of chocolate that still comes off even just makes me… go to my happy place on Drury Lane. The maple bar was just as good, but not as messy-​looking. Very soft and still had sort of a warm texture. Needless to say, both donuts were delicious and distinguishable. There’s also a drink fridge if you need juice, bottled starbucks, milk assortments, or soda.
Because I love soda with my donuts.

When I paid, I was sent away with a smile and she even checked to make sure that I was cool getting to the car. When a second customer had come in, someone came in from outside and immediately went to help him. Service. As far as first impressions go, Happy Donuts hit the mark.
Happy Donuts? At work, we call them «Jovial Pastries».

If I buy donuts for work and they have the Happy Donut sticker or logo on it they are gone. Brought in 4-​dozen donuts (plus a stash of crullers for me) and 22 employees had them gone in under 15 minutes.
When vendors come in with other donut companies from Kent, they might be there all day.
Good quality donuts, fast and friendly service, I love how they have their regulars orders sitting there for them. Just watch out for when they have the bacon maple bars as I have seen people get a little crazy over them.

I discovered Happy Donuts by accident while waiting at a stoplight. It must have been my hunger and love for donuts that instinctively re-​routed my drive into their parking lot.
The name pretty much describes my experience there– the fresh and delicious donuts, friendly service and reasonable prices made me a happy customer!

I liked the apple fritter, it was smaller than i usually see them, so I can eat another piece… maple bar was good, maple cruller too.
