I recently relocated from LA and have been looking for a legitimate Mexican Market that I can find all my Mexican food staples. Great news! My search is over, this market has it all– full service carniceria, Mexican produce, and very helpful and welcoming staff. Thank you La Plaza for making me feel at home. I will definitely be returning

My mom actually«made» me go in here for the first time about a year ago. I was not in the grocery shopping mood so I didn’t exactly feel like going in but I did and I’M GLAD I DID! Everything is more inexpensive than normal, especially the produce! And our ultimate fav thing there is the carne y pollo adobado which we probably eat once a week whether it be in tacos, nachos, etc. And the bakery is pretty good too ;)

I am giving them 5 stars for the bread I just ate. My boyfriend and I came in here thinking it would be similar to a Safeway. It is a grocery store with Hispanic cuisine and we smelled the bakery and went to check it out. The loaves of bread and pastries were only 65 cents each. The bread reminded me of my great grandmother’s recipe and didn’t last long in the car ride. So good. I would definitely go back and get more.

The pan dulce at this place is the best I’ve found in the area, and I don’t seem to be the only one who thinks so – this place is always busy. The flavors are great with just the right amount of dryness to the bread. The variety of their pan dulce is fantastic, plus they have mini conchas! Pan dulce is delicious, sweet bread that will fill you up and is best with some coffee or tea. If you’ve never eaten pan dulce, this is a great place for your first try.

The Taqueria inside this Market makes by far the best Torta I’ve ever had. It is huge, so plan to share because half of it barely fits in the to-go-box. My husband(from Mexico City) said the sopes he ordered were the best he’s ever had in the states. The prices are cheap! Also, this taqueria is inside a Mexican Market that has the best mexican sweet bread, a fantastic meat market and produce along with a music store and more!!! This is just down the street from Highline Community College on Pac Hwy and the Kent/Des Moines Road — in the same complex as UW Medical Center.

Stumbled upon the Grand Opening of «The Market». They have a clothing store, meat shop and bakery located in the grocery store. Their produce was really good and great prices(grapes were .98 lb). Bakery items we got were good — cakes look tempting — may have to try one. Didn’t buy another at the meat shop this time — but I’ll be back.
