Simply the best work out in Marin! Five years ago, I signed up hoping to get into shape for my role as «mother of the bride» and I have been working out at Urban Gorilla, (formally Fuerza Pilates), ever since. I am always impressed with the group classes at UG because the instructors give us a great deal of individual help and structure workouts to address our specific needs. The amazing UG team is highly trained, knowledgeable and fun. UG offers plenty of core building as well as cardio classes. The Cardio Jumpboard classes with Heidi and Beth is the best way to start a day! My years of hip and back problems are a distant memory for me now and I am forever grateful!

I came to Urban Guerrilla (formerly Fuerza) last summer a few months before my wedding. These ladies kicked my butt and got me in fabulous shape for the big day. This is a great studio and the classes are for all levels. I struggled to find a place that really gave me a great workout and they deliver. They are also careful about being safe and mindful if you have injuries which I really appreciate. Furthermore everyone at the studio is upbeat and has a great sense of humor. I am hooked on the classes and have continued regularly almost a year post-​wedding!

I have been taking classes for the last two months and can already see and feel a difference. The instructors are thorough, dedicated and fun. I am so impressed with Fuerza!

Moved 3 months ago to Greenbrae finding a jewell of a Pilates studio. Great instructors and reformer equipment. It is fun and challenging. I love receiving corrections and see the results. Amy and Heidi deserve a lot of credit for the excellent job they do. I have had 5 years of previous Pilates instruction in Southern California considering Fuerza Pilates in Kentfield the Best.

I have been taking Pilates classes at Fuerza for around two years and have been a fan of Pilates for approximately five years. Fuerza is by far the best Pilates studio I have been to. Amy and Heidi are amazing teachers and their classes are challenging yet fun. The classes are small (at the most, only six people at a time) so it feels like you have your own personal trainer. If you want to transform your body while getting a really amazing workout that never gets boring, you should try Fuerza. You won’t be disapppointed. I can’t imagine going anywhere else!

Fuerza Pilates is a fantastic place. Amy and Heidi are knowledgeable, helpful, and take the time to find out what your goals are and customize your workout to help you achieve them. Amy does a great job of explaining the physical mechanics behind what she’s teaching, and helps correct your posture to make sure that you aren’t injuring yourself and that you are maximizing the stretch to get the most out of your time.
I only wish I could make to the classes daily, rather than a few times a week.

I’ve been traveling for the past year and a half, taking Pilates classes whenever possible at various studios. My favorite hands down has been Fuerza PIlates.
Fuerza Pilates stands apart from the other studios I’ve been to for two reasons:
1) Superior instruction and routine
Fuerza Pilates excels at providing individual instruction within a group setting. Heidi makes sure each person is doing exercises for their ability and keeps tabs on everyone. This is not a cookie-​cutter/​one-​size-​fits-​all approach, that’s for sure. Also, Heidi is incredibly knowledgeable about the muscular system. She knows the exact stretch to help whatever is sore, and the routines produced results.
2) Great positive fun environment
I took evening classes, and it was a great way to unwind after work. It is a friendly and focused environment.
I agree with Sandy R’s review, though I only worked with Heidi. She’s definitely a five star quality instructor.

I have been attending Fuerza Pilates for about 3 months. It was easy for me to see the difference with Fuerza from the other studio I had attended from day one. It is called attention to detail. Amy, Heidi and Stephanie are all excellent instructors and they strive to get all attending to do their best. I appreciate the individual correction and instruction throughout the group classes. They are all caring and positive personalities which make the classes even better for myself and the rest of the group. I have seen the changes in my body and I really look forward to every class I have taken and the results that I have received. I have decided it is now time to take some individual classes available at Fuerza. Amy, Heidi and Stephanie are five star quality.

I’ve had a great experience at Fuerza Pilates. My daughter is now a year old and I am in better shape than I was before I was pregnant! I definitely recommend pilates for getting your body back post partum. I started doing private sessions with Stephanie when the baby was first born to strengthen my pelvic floor and tighten and reconnect my core. Now I go on Saturday mornings for «bootcamp» which is intense and fun! Stephanie is knowledgeable and patient, yet firm enough to get you to the next level! Highly recommend.

Pilates is the best form of «exercise» that I have found. It stimulates strength, flexibility, focus, and balance. It is gentle and effective! With the right guide Pilates allows the connection between body, mind and soul to emerge. The guides, or teachers at Fuerza are the best. They are in touch with the importance of balance and recognize their clients as individuals. Most importantly you can feel safe trusting the instructors at Fuerza. It is immediately apparent that the teachers are experienced professionals who are knowledgeable about what they are teaching. With this said, get ready for a serious workout with serious results!

Solid studio in a beautiful location!
Whew! What a work out! I have a bit of background with pilates/​yoga/​dance, but this is the first time I’ve used the reformer machines or have had private one on one instruction.
Instructor Amy was the perfect combo of task-​master and cheerleader. She instinctively knew how much to push, and when to let up. She noticed imbalances in my body and straightened me out like no one’s business. I left walking out of the studio feeling both energized and knowing that I had put in a really good work out.
A few more sessions with Amy and I have a feeling I’m going to be lean and mean. Rawr!

I’ve been doing yoga for several years now and have overall stayed away from the whole Pilates thing. But, a few recent injuries have shown that my body is pretty out of balance and that I need to do more core work along with just generally balancing out my body.
So, I thought I’d check out pilates.
Fuerza has those reformer things that really look like some sort of torture device. My general exercise tends to happen using fairly simple tech with the fanciest equipment being a rock climbing harness so that I don’t plummet to my death.
Needless to say, I was both fascinated and daunted by the equipment ahead of me.
Fortunately, the instructor/​owner of the studio, Amy Marie, led me through dealing with the equipment and leading me through a session (note: they only do instructor led sessions). What was great is that she was lively and supportive, but not in an over-​the-​top manner.
By the end of the session, I definitely like I had a good workout, and the next day, I’ve got that whole core soreness thing that is a nice feeling.
