Very good food, but service left a lot to be desired. My wife and I both a three-course steak dinner, and I added a mussels appetizer. The mussels were plentiful and tasty with a marinara sauce. Both of our steaks were cooked as we asked and were delicious, and the side of cooked snap peas was a good choice. My wife had a mousse for dessert, and I had bananas foster, prepared tableside. We both enjoyed our choices. As for the service, we were seated quickly, but it was downhill from there. 20 minutes before water was brought to our table and another few minutes before the waiter came to take our order. We asked for rolls and were told they would come with our salads, but they didn’t. We then asked for them again on two occasions, but they never came. It also took longer than necessary to bring my coffee after the meal. The place is under new ownership, so all of this might just be growing pains. We’ll probably go back in a few months to see.

Gander Inn has new owners. We went there tonite. The food was cold and our shrimp was undercooked. Sending it back did not solve the problem. The owner did not adjust the bill to make it right. I do not recommend this restaurant.

I went to Gander Inn for dinner the place is pretty crowded, but I got seated right away. The waitress, Ann Marie, was very nice. I got my drink on time. I was told this place takes a while to get your food, but It didn’t seem very long. My appetizer, calamari. was homemade and delicious. I ordered a chicken marsala And it was very good Salad and bread was included. We were there for about an hour and we enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely be going back. Glad there is a place to go in Kerhonkson. We also had fun playing ping pong in the bar area after dinner.

I was looking for a local place to take my family which includes my 89 year old mother and 2 year old granddaughter. The parking lot was full and although I heard bad reviews from this local restaurant at work I was willing to give it a try. Walking in I saw 5 waitresses standing around and about 4 tables empty excluding the outside patio seating which was empty. I was told by the hostess that we could be seated now but had to wait 45 minutes to be served. Well, I should have went with my first instinct which was the Gilded Otter about 12 miles away. I wonder how The Gander Inn can hold customers if the food wait is 45 minutes. Too bad this place is so close to my home.
