Barking Dog Farms

You can’t find more gracious people or a more beautiful market on the coast. Barking Dog Farms does it best.
We stopped in today to grab some fruit and veggies for snacks on our trip, and we were very pleasantly welcomed by the owner Dave, whose friendly demeanor and warm-​hearted storytelling make you feel right at home. He treated us to a few tastings of cherry tomatoes, white peaches, watermelon and cantaloupe. The fruits were just out of this world and the juices of each dribble down your chin, with rich flavors that just simply can’t be match by your standard IGA or local grocery store produce.
We ordered up a nice bunch of kale, which Dave hand-​cut from the garden outside the market. Can you get it any fresher than that? He let us try a few items we were uncertain of, and sent us on our way with plenty of dinner suggestions for our evening out.
I couldn’t recommend Barking Dog Farms enough. Add it to your agenda; you won’t be disappointed.

Don’t come here for customer service, the owner isn’t a «people person» (he told me that himself), I would even say he’s kind of a crabby kind of guy.
Come here for the awesome produce, they pick to order your lettuce, carrots etc! How lovely is that?!
Come here for the GORGEOUS farm that it is! The flowers, the building, the art. It’s all just a super cool place to experience.

Dave is hilarious and gave us great ideas as to what we could do with the produce we bought from him. He gave us samples and we bought a lot. It was so delicious.
The farm is beautiful! And, after asking, he let me take pictures of it. He really appreciated me asking first to take pictures.
I will definitely stop by here anytime I’m in the Newport area. It’s simply an amazing farm with fantastic produce with outstanding prices.
For payment, he only accepts checks or cash.
