Short version: If you are anywhere close to Buzzie’s, go now. Right now. Long version: I have traveled to and eaten at every major BBQ city and Buzzie’s is the best anywhere. The brisket is out of control and I could hurt myself on the ribs. The first time I took my wife here, she barely said a word though there were a table full of friends with us. I married well. They have sides, sure. But don’t waste precious BBQ meat space on them.

Best BBQ I’ve had in a long time! We were visiting Fredericksburg and made the drive to Kerrville to check out the Pitmaster Champ’s BBQ, we were not disappointed! We had the ribs and chicken, it was all juicy and tender, my husband claimed they were the best ribs he’s ever had. They make all of their sides so everything was fresh and tasty. Buzzie’s personal meat rub was a perfect combination of flavors and I can see why he’s won competitions with it. We went home with some! The owners are super sweet and make sure everyone is well taken care of, the staff made suggestions and seemed eager to please. Don’t pass them by if you’re in the area or, just make the drive, it’s well worth it! I’ll be craving that BBQ until I can get there again! Thanks guys!

This is my first time eating authentic TXBBQ and it was amazing I come from Whittier CA where there is little to no smoke houses and I got to say people are missing out on authentic BBQ the chicken brisket and ribs were super tender and most had the perfect amount of smoke flavor in them the BBQ sauce was great I will definitely be coming back when I visit my buddy Dave in Kerrville next time thanks Buzzie!

I was in town for business and we were taken here one day for lunch. We got a family pack to share that came with 3 meats, potato salad, cole slaw, baked beans, and their signature sauce. The ribs were the best(between the ribs, turkey, brisket, and sausage which we ordered extra). The owner has competed and won in different competitions including Pitmasters! The sides were just OK, probably could have gone without. Overall a good experience.

Went here on a local’s recommendation. I had the rib plate with 2 sides.(potato salad and cole slaw). The ribs i had were dry, tough and very salty. the sides were just OK.

Just bought 25 dollars of bbq… then they wanted to charge us for onions and pickles to go??? I hope the owner know their employees have attitudes When we asked for them he said«I could have made your sandwich!» Food is middle of the.road.

We ordered our food to go and I’m glad that we did. We didn’t like it at all! We ended up throwing it away and getting McDonalds instead.

Sausage excellent, ribs had a very good flavor, some of the brisket was a little dry but had a good flavor. Liked beans and potato salad. BBQ sauce tasted too tomatoey but luckily I didn’t need much sauce for anything. Place was very clean.

Made the drive up from San Antonio just to eat and buy some take out for the upcoming work week. Brisket is the best I have ever had. Wife loves their ribs. Definitely worth the drive. Everytime we go thru Kerrville we make a stop for some BBQ. Texas Monthly Magazine was correct in including them on the Texas Top 50BBQ joints.

Got food for four to-go on Sunday: a sliced bbq sandwich, and a chopped one. Both excellent! Also two small pork rib plates that came with 3 ribs each. I could only eat 2 they were so big, but delicious! Friendly staff and very fast service. I’ve been coming to Buzzies a long time and will continue in the future!

For me and people who know me, this review is really based on the meat alone. The brisket was well BBQ’D and seasoned just a tad less then i would have liked. A tad! LOL I don’t mind marbled cut but some was a little too fat but that is being picky-I know. The regular sausage was good but wasn’t too keen on the sausage with jalapeño and cheese. Now the beans they had were outstanding. If they had a little bacon and jalapeños like borracho beans those would have been a knock out of the park. Regardless still good. Was disappointed they didn’t offer when asked for some bread on our to-go order. Not me but more for my daughter. The bbq sauce given was mediocre but then again if it’s good bbq you don’t need sauce. The place was spacious but parking was a little tough but we managed. Overall if you haven’t tried it and your here it is a must. 4 ¼ Stars out of 5.

We had lunch again today at our favorite BBQ joint. Buzzie’s BBQ in Kerrville. Again, no surprises here. I knew what to expect and they have yet to let me down! I had the brisket & sausage plate. The brisket was tender with just the right smoke ring. Even had a few ‘sugar cookies” for those bbq snobs that know what I’m talking about!!! OMG!!! Doesn’t get any better than that! The sausage had a great flavor as usual. Not a mealy fine ground west coast sausage, this is all Texas here. The bbq sauce, well again, the tomato based Texas style with a hint of vinegar and onion, good ol’ german style to me. The beans were perfect! My wife got the Turkey and Pork Tenderloin Plate… All she mumbled was«MMMMMM». enough said! :) To me, three simple things will tell you that a place knows their bbq:(1) the sauce,(2) the beans and(3) the style of sausage. I know its about the brisket, but when you add it all up, If you’re in Kerrville and your BBQ isn’t from Buzzie’s, it’s not REALTEXASBARBECUE! I know my way around a pit too, but this is heaven in a pit here! Do I recommend them, ABSOLUTELY!

I’m writing this as someone who’s only eaten here once. I asked some locals where I could find some BBQ and they sent me here. It’s located near downtown Kerrville, Texas in a semi-industrial area. I almost passed it but I knew I was close because I could smell it. I ordered the Wednesday special rib plate. This is a dry rub rib with the sauce on the side. The sauce was sweet and tangy and really great. The ribs were so good I gnawed them clean. They also offer cobbler and pecan pie. The pie was excellent with less pecans and more custard. This is a great family restaurant and they also serve wine and beer.

Loved the atmosphere and the staff were very friendly. My wife and I ordered large combo plates with two meats and two sides. The potato salad and slaw were both very good! Between the two of us we had ribs, brisket, pork and sausage. All of the meat had great smoked flavor and I especially enjoyed the sausage. However ALL of the meats were tough and chewy, and the pork was dry. I personally didn’t care for the sauce, as it had too much vinegar in it. Portions were large and we ended up taking half the meat home. Too bad that the meat was all so tough as we enjoyed the rest.

Wanted to give this place a try ever since seeing it listed in the Texas Monthly«Top 50 Barbecue Joints». I’m giving this place 4 stars because the brisket sandwich was pretty tasty. Can’t say it’s the best I’ve ever had but it’s worth a quick stop if you’re in the area.

Always like to try the unknown, but always questionable with two kids in tow. You cannot beat the friendly staff and phenomenal owner’s hospitality. As for food, EXCELLENT ribs and solid brisket and pork.

A BBQ buddy and I stopped by to check out Buzzies. We drive from San Antonio after hearing about their ratings and thought it would be worth the trip. Sadly, we were pretty disappointed. We are both BBQ fans and I’ve judged contests in the past. My review is based on some standard grading methods and just good old taste and mouth-feel. We ordered a bit of almost everything they sell. The staff was a bit distant and didn’t know too much about the cooking methods or the meat properties. That’s ok. They were local kids and were just there to do a job but a smile would have been nice as they collected $ 50+ from me. The ribs were a bit undercooked and somehow also dry. I attributed the dryness to the end pieces but the undercooking should not have been let out of the kitchen. Neither of us finished a full rib. The flavor was ok but nothing amazing or different. The brisket was ok but a bit overcooked and gray. It may have even been a re-heat from the prior day as the edges were very dry. The flavor was ok and again, typical for central Texas BBQ with a good smokey flavor. The sausage was nothing special and a 7 out of 10. The sides were also ok. Nothing was special enough to rate any other comments. The place was clean and bright and they clearly spent some money on the interior finish out. A bit more attention to the cooking would be in order here. There were only two other people in the restaurant mid-week at lunchtime so hopefully it will pick up for them over the summer.
