First the Pros: clean room, nice size, motel is conveniently located.
Now the Cons: our room was located directly across from the motel’s conference room; which was being used well past 10 PM. Why would you put non-​conference patrons directly across the hall? We had to listen to their noise (music, singing, and door slamming) way too late. When I asked for another room, of course one was not available. The beds in the room were horrible! Both heavily sunk-​in in the middle. My back just ached the next morning.
Would I ever go back … Never!

My granddaughter & I stayed 2 nights here & it was great! Newly renovated, spacious rooms, nice staff, oh and great Texas shaped pool, although too cold to get in this time of year. boo! but going back in a couple of weeks & will definitely hop in their star shaped hot tub! Did I mention the beds were super comfortable? well they are and they have soft & firm pillows too! Nothing I could find to complain about for sure!

We’re loyal to the IHG brands, so we have come to expect certain levels of service and amenities from the different brands. This property is new, has a wonderful pool and hot tub area. The room was very clean and the staff greeted us professionally and answered all questions. We definitely recommend this property.

Typical expectations from a fairly new HIX; nice & clean rooms, friendly staff, free wifi & breakfast bar, and right off the two main thoroughfares.
They do, however, have a great Texas shaped pool!

Southlake, TX
It’s just as you would expect from a HIE. Clean rooms, huge actually, made it easy to fit two adults and a kid in the two queens easily. Lots of floor space although lack of overhead lighting was odd. My sister was in the king room which was also really big. Breakfast was to be expected and breakfast room was clean. We appreciated the easy luggage carts. Note — the keys are deactivated in a heart beat by an iPhone. Just a note of caution.

My bed was a little uncomfortable (I’m a picky sleeper bc I sleep on a tempur-​pedic) and the sheets were itchy. Other than that exactly what you expect from holiday inn… nice room, good breakfast, very friendly staff. The Texas shaped pool is very unique. And you’re only a few minutes drive from several attractions (Shriner park, lost maples state park, enchanted rock state park, devil’s backbone, great food, and Fredricksburg). The free wifi is great as well!
I would have no problem staying here again.

As HIE goes, this is not a great one. However they are currently doing major remodeling so maybe when they are done it will be fine. I reserved a day ahead to get some points, the place is almost empty but they don’t have any suites above the first floor, so no balcony, well because of the renovation thing you see. The room is big but is kinda dark even with every light turned on. Lots of nice looking hotel chains nearby, I suspect some have great suites for similar price.

Okay, so this place is in the middle of nowhere, but that is really the only downside. The rooms are very nice. Most of them have balconies (or at least the suites do). The pool is the best that I have seen at in HIE. It is in the shape of Texas. How rad is that? And the hot tub is a star shape. Talk about Celebrity hot tub.
Everything else is standard HIE. Free breakfast (you get what you pay for). If you are looking for a night spot, check out The Nautilus Beach Bar next door. Good Times!
