Kim’s Custom Tailor

I have been going to this shop for over 20 years, I dropped off a coat that needed new buttons. Orginally when I asked I was told I have no buttons you need to buy buttons, so I ordered buttons. I bring the coat back and get charged $ 37 for the buttons and to have 1 suite dry cleaned. Well what do you know I can’t button the jacket, the buttons he put on are two large, I came back and showed him the coat and I get «your doing it wrong look» and I reply ok button the coat and he can’t. I ask the tailor can you fix this? I get a blank stare I ask again and all of a sudden he doesn’t speak a word of English. Really! I even looked at him and said I have been a customer for 20 years and I get ‘not my fault” stay away from this place!

These guys are terrible. They are a dry cleaners, and a tailor. They are terrible at both. They can’t clean shirts, and they didn’t bother to try again. I asked them to mend my suit trousers. They didn’t mend the trousers the first time, and simply «forgot». Then they rushed to fix their error. What I got back was horrible. I now can’t use the trousers at all. I’ve attached the picture of the «mended» trousers. This from a shop that calls itself a ‘tailor’. I won’t let these people fix a button going forward. Never using them again.

Mr. Kim is the only tailor that I use. I live in Brazil, but whenever I need some expert work, I wait until I come up to visit. História work is impeccable! If you liveanywhere near here, you have to give him a try – you won’t be disappointed.

Kim is the only tailor right now I can trust to make adjustments to my cherished clothing. I’m always excited to get my clothes back after some alterations here because I know he’ll make them look good. The stitches are solid and clean. I haven’t been able to get the same quality after trying a few tailors in queens. I don’t know what the average rate goes for making alterations so it’s hard to tell if it’s pricey or not here.
