Friendly staff, attentive service, casual atmosphere and excellent food! The neighborly deck was great. Looking forward to returning. The walleye was very good, light and fresh. The brisket & cheese sandwich was fantastic.

Yum! Walked over here for lunch. I had veggie wrap and my husband had a burger. Both came out great! Huge portions. The servers were very friendly. They made sure we had a great meal. The place is super clean and one gets to see the kitchen too. Will most definitely recommend if you are looking for a great meal which won’t hurt your wallet.

Nice seaside vib to place. Makes excellent breakfast. Front part a litter narrow. So could see the place filling fast with 2 – 4 large families showing up.

No wait walked in and sat down, service was very good, very attentive. Food not so much. If you offer something like poached eggs you should know how to serve them properly. More like Hard boiled eggs. Asked for extra crispy bacon, think it could have been brought back to life with some CPR. $ 23 for 2 people pretty high I believe for breakfast and not to get what you ordered. Would never complain as I do not send food back…

A family owned restaurant, and I have to say its a great success! Everyone there is so friendly, and the food is authentic to the region and tastes very good. The mahi mahi burger, just wow!

Have had breakfast at DJs twice while in the keys and I highly recommend it. Clean and great service. Omelets are fantastic. Fried or hash brown potatoes are homemade and very good. The Lucy sandwich is a perfect choice if you are having a late breakfast or early lunch… picture a BLT with a fried egg added. Yum.

The food was delicious! I had Blackbeards Delight Wrap and it was very tasty! This is a small, quaint place with good food and service.

I thought this restaurant was pretty bad. There was a wait when we walked in, which isn’t unusual for a Sunday morning in the Keys, but the staff was so disorganized, we thought we’d never get a table! Depending on where you sit, you can see the cooks at work, and it’s clear that cleanliness and health are not a priority. I’m not too squeamish about that stuff as long as the food is good(I’ve worked in a lot of restaurants; cleanliness is questionable everywhere) buy, unfortunately, the food was not good ATALL. The pancakes were served dry, but even worse, the pancake batter had too much baking soda in it, which creates a horrible, tingly feeling in your mouth. Limp bacon and overcooked eggs completed our order. This is probably an awesome place to eat if you have a raging hangover, but otherwise, there are much better breakfasts in Key Largo.

Had breakfast here twice over the weekend. Excellent food and the service was quick and friendly. Prices were fair considering where we were. Waitress both times was very nice and helpful. Super cute too!

BC burger was excellent and so was the service. The eggs benedict were great as well. A kind customer returned my bag and DJs called me immediately to inform me that I had left my laptop bag and they made sure my contents were all on the bag before I could I even get the bag. They were kind enough to hold it for me past closing, and I REALLY appreciate that as a retaurant emoloyee. Great food, service, and people. Higlhy reccomend!

Lunch is decent. Had a patty melt and fries, good, no issues. Service is good, better than most places! Breakfast was awful both times I went: –I can tell they cook their sausage patties ahead of time and keep them for God knows how long in a warmer. They come out like hockey pucks. –Both times I ordered an over medium egg, and both times it came to me with the whites not fully cooked. That’s an over easy egg folks! –instead of real butter/margarine on the toast the cook slathered grill oil on it. Yum! soggy toast! My fault — forgot to ask for dry toast with butter on the side. –hash browns were burned. Quite the culinary feat on one plate, something undercooked, something overcooked, something soggy and something dried out. amazing! It was a busy Saturday morning so I gave them the benefit of the doubt and went back. Same thing,(except I remembered about the toast, so that was good). Nope. Not the breakfast place of choice for me.

Been there for breakfast a few times, and it is our stop as we head to Miami now. Great and homey kind of local place. People who work there seem like a big family, and it shows in the atmosphere. Great French toast and you get plenty of good service with the breakfast fare they have. Like it here, and very reasonable price wise.

Décor was fun and the service friendly. Food however… MEH. .chili thin and rather watered-down. Conch chowder tasty tomato and onion concoction but the conch was MIA. Same for the conch fritters. .mire like bread balls… slightly fishy and again, where’s the conch. They also automatically add an 18% gratuity if you have even 4 people. The service was good and I’d have left a good tip anyway, however forced«gratuities» for a small group are not gratuities, but imposed services changes. Highly recommend you don’t waste your palette or your cash.

Not impressed at all. The prices were fine but they were incredibly slow. Interesting the waitress when asked about the specials told us they were on the board which was not visible from our table. We ordered a blackened Mahi Mahi sandwich with fries and an appetizer of conch fritters. The fritters were very over cooked and the waitress took them off our bill. The best thing about our meal was the fries. I will not be back.

First I would like to say why I give the 4 stars. Amazing service!!! Very seldom do you receive such a welcoming as you walk through the door and throughout your stay. This is a small hole in the wall diner. The cooks know their stuff. Being in the business all my life, I’m a bit of a foodie and so is my daughter, whom accompanied me. We sat at the counter where we were able to view every move the cooks made, as well as the servers. Delicious Food. Well portioned and great presentation. The only reason I did not give the extra star is because it was really warm inside this diner. Would recommend turning the air down. Love this place.

Great food, great service, well priced. Location is central and ample parking. Menu is diverse. The burgers are great. If you want to eat healthy you can. In the keys, it’s hit or miss with the food. You won’t be disappointed eating here. Try the coconut key lime pie crunch. Yummmmmmmmy!!!

This was our second choice for breakfast on the way out of Key Largo last Sunday. There were six of us who first stopped into Doc’s but the wait was at least 25 deep(there must be a good reason!), so we left. We were able to get seating immediately for our group at DJ’s — there must be a good reason! After ordering, my husband received his meal while we all waited for ours. Since we watched his start to get cold, we told him to go ahead and eat. More than 10 minutes later, the rest of us received our breakfasts while my husband watched us eat. Terrible timing! My friend did not receive her Key Lime Pie, so she asked for it a second time after she was finished with her breakfast. We sat and sat and sat… ready to go so we could hit the road, but the service just stopped. It was strange. While the food was fine, and the servers were friendly, they just appeared to not be completely on top of their business. It was just an odd experience. I might go here again, but will get to Doc’s earlier since they’ve got a good reputation among the locals.

I really liked this diner. Ironically as soon as we pulled in I get a text from my nephew DJ. Lol. The 50s theme complete with Elvis and checkerboard floor gave the place an extra cute ambience. The cinnamon toast crunch french bread was made specially for me. They added some toppings from a different breakfast item on the side, so I was able to dress my french toast up with coconut, pecans, and blueberries. I ordered some cuban coffee to make sure i stayed awake for the impending drive to key west. Unfortunately, the breakfast wasn’t enough and I was craving something savory. They made the most tastiest burger with salsa and avocado. My son and I stopped at a scenic view en route to key west and I enjoyed that burger in all its savory and filling goodness. So glad I found this place on Unilocal.I’ll be back soon.
