I have lived here for 40 years and going to this restaurant. Have had mostly great food. Was happy to see the new owners didn’t change anything, UNTIl NOW. I use to be able to make reservations inside for two. Now it has to be a party of more. I mean, They do have tables for two. NOTHAPPY. What next??? Why is it that always happeneds with new owners? Howie as great.

We ate here while on our recent vacation to Key Largo. It’s a casual, waterfront gem, tricky to find but worth the hunt! If you like margaritas, the Neener Rita is perfection. The seafood is very fresh and you can order it cooked as you like(fried, blackened, etc) with your choice of toppings. I ordered Hogfish Dakota style and my husband had Beer Battered Grouper. Note — grouper was not on the menu — Scott, our amazing server, suggested it. Oh, and live music! Don’t miss this gem!

Typical tourist trap. Food was good but the prices were either reasonable or expensive, especially for the amount they gave you. Stingy with their condiments. I asked for ketchup for my fries and got 2 ketchup packets.

The food is great and the service. The drinks to me were watered down. There was more juice than alcohol. Otherwise, good spot to eat

Food was average and server had an attitude. One of our least favorite restaurants the week we stayed in the keys. The view was nice but the waitress had an attitude.

Stopped by for our annual lunch here. I had the smoked fish appetizer and blackened mahi app. The smoked fish was wonderful and served with a sesame flatbread though it did lack some smokiness. The mahi was a bit overcooked but the flavor was great. The separate bar area had a great selection of craft brews and the view is great. The margarita is made with gold tequila but is a bit weak for my taste but had good flavor. All in all, we have been her a number of times and this was not their best performance. We will still come back again to give them a chance to move up to 4 stars.

The conch fritters I had were okay, mediocre but they’re better in the Bahamas and Grand Turk. The pictures I got were good too but the fritters were very chunky. My entire party went home and had liquid like diarrhea. The wind was so bad, our receipt blew away so we can’t go complain. It was very expensive and the drinks we got weren’t even tasting like they were supposed to.

Snapper’s is pretty good. We were in The Keys for a New Year getaway and ate at several restaurants in the Key Largo-Tavernier area. Since I live in the land-locked Kansas City area most of the year, I’m not going to order farm animals for dinner when I visit The Keys. I had something that swims, crawls or lies in the sea for dinner every night of my week-long vacation. We ate at Snapper’s twice, which is always our ultimate compliment. .. good enough the first time to want a return trip. Let me say that the food is good and representative of The Keys’ cuisine. .. fresh, well-prepared and not pretentious. Snapper’s offers one the confidence of ordering anything on the menu and being satisfied. Our first night we wanted to enjoy the water so we dined on the deck. When making reservations you might want to check on the wind for the evening. We still enjoyed the experience, but the zephyr off the water was a tad brisk that night. .. not enough to make us move inside, however. I appreciate good service and nice touches. The first night I ordered a martini and the next time a Manhattan. Snapper’s serves their«up» cocktails in a mini carafe and ice bucket. With the warmth and humidity of The Keys that’s a very thoughtful detail. Thank you. Food is very good. Service is excellent. Price is right. You should enjoy a visit to Snapper’s.

Food is decent, the atmosphere was rather loud even in an empty restaurant. They seemed understaffed and my meal took forever. While it tasted good. The edges of my fish were very chewy but the center was quite good.

Ycchh. Never again. Fish sandwich was flavorless and made on like wheat bread that I’d make my kids’ school sandwiches on. Yuck. Sweet potato fries were limp and yucko too. Ate three of them and that was enough. Shrimp tacos had no flavor either. Even the tartar sauce was like mayo. My family liked the gator bites. Was looking forward to the soup but they forgot to bring it out. Lobster was pricey but my foodie 10 year old said it was basically meh for $ 31. Won’t be coming back for such mediocre food.

Let’s just say in a word. Institutionalized The conch chowder tasted well beyond expiration. The gator bites were thinner than clam strips. The salad tasted like it came out of a box. If you’re looking for a nice view with below average food then this is your place

This place stinks. I went there with my one year old and my wife not long ago to try a new place in the keys. We go there often and have never had an experience like this one. I asked the grumpy hostess for a full size table since I didn’t want my one year old reaching across a small table for the utensils, condiments, etc. Additionally, our one year old eats off menus so we needed room for all three of us. What does she do? She seats us at a small table for two with a high chair in the blazing sun and walks off quickly before I could even say anything. We had been driving for a while so we stayed because we were really hungry. Another regret. The service was incredibly slow, the waitress finally shows up almost 10 minutes later and had an attitude after we told her that this is not what we had requested as far as seating. Then she took forever to get us our drinks(another 10 minutes). Guess she wanted to make us pay for our complaint. So there we are sitting in the blazing sun. I positioned my little one in the little bit of shade we had and my wife and I just cooked there. Very unpleasant. Hard to enjoy the ambiance when you are being cooked by the sun. The food finally came and it stunk. I can’t believe we stopped here. Greasy soggy fries, the burger was dry and the lettuce had brown all over the edges. I would have sent it back except I don’t send food back as I’m scared they will do something to it. Especially this place after we complained to the waitress. I took a few bites and left it. My wife’s linguine was drowning in sauce and overcooked pasta. She too left most of it. What a waste of money! I paid for our overpriced bill(burger at $ 12.50 for a crappy dry burger and my wife’s $ 26.00 linguine, two beers) and after paying almost $ 50.00 for this crappy experience we left. On the way out, I go to use the bathroom and it is disgusting. Hairs on the toilet of you know what kind, smelly, and not clean. This place is a tourist trap. Not a local’s place. The next day we went to Key Largo Fisheries up the road(where we have been before) and the food was much better and the prices more reasonable. Service is great because you order and pick it up at a window after they buzz you. Order a bucket of beer in ice and you are set.

This restaurant was made for locals. It’s a hidden treasure and if your not local… your only key to finding it, is by recommendation. Seeing this place from the streets would be impossible, we landed here for lunch only because our friend use to live in the keys. It’s located right on the waters with a marina view. We sat at the bar, with wind blowing in our hairs as we stare into the beautiful view of the ocean. As usual, I always like to see what the people that work their recommends. She showed us the menu and pointed out a few things on the chefs specialty that she absolutely loves. The one thing that stood out to me was the scallop salad. The portion on this salad was perfect, the taste of the scallops were so tender and each bite was delicious. She also recommended to go with their house dressing, and was so nicely to say she will switch it out if it was not to my liking. Oh how it was so to my liking! Just the right amount of tang to satisfy my taste buds. This dish hit the spot just right.

Snapper’s is a great place to eat if you are looking for variety like we were. It has many styles you can choose from regarding how you want your seafood cooked and that is huge for me since I have tummy issues and cannot eat fried foods. Gotta say, got the Fresh Fish selection of Spiny Lobster done Dakota style and it was the best lobster I have ever had. Dakota style is almonds encrusted with Parmesan and then your fish selection is baked and then topped off with a champagne butter sauce. Never thought all of that would be good on lobster but my husband talked me into it and obviously I didn’t have any regrets. Also enjoyed the garlic mashed potatoes and slightly firm zucchini, just the way I like it. Atmosphere is casual but the layout is right on the water or you can choose to eat inside. They have music many nights and the whole experience is just carefree, relaxing and down right tasty. Highly recommend this place and hope to go back.

Upon advice from our hotelier, we set out for Snappers, eager to sample more of the local fresh catch. It’s right beside a pier bar, so provides just the right amount of music/ambience without interrupting your conversation. While the restaurant is far from fancy, the food was delish. We were very pleased with our meals and would go back. If you’re craving a GF dessert, this is not your place though. They didn’t have a lot of desserts to chose from. Maybe we’re the only ones who still have room?

I was very disappointed with this one. I got multiple recommendation to try Snapper’s, and the food was just okay. First off we got cracked conch with some dipping sauce. The sauce was under the conch but it had lettuce in it, so it was impossible to dip the conch in the sauce. Also the garlic mash potatoes where straight out of a box. We also got a couple drinks, and I got the cedar plank hog fish, and it was good but really nothing special. With such lack luster meal. The bill came to $ 93!!! I will never go back, way, way overpriced. Save your money and go elsewhere, there are hundreds of other places in the Keys.

This is a great spot to sit by the waterfront and eat the freshest food you can get in Key Largo. I’ve had the burger, I know it’s a seafood place, and it was surprisingly delicious! The shellfish scampi is my favorite, the scallops and shrimp always taste fresh, and the sauce served with is it made to perfection! The keylime pie is a must have! The waterfront is beautiful to sit on while watching the sunset. This place can get pretty packed so make sure to get there early or make a reservation. Over the weekends there is live music, which makes it nice to grab a drink after enjoying dinner. This is a must try place when visiting the Keys!

It is exactly what you would expect of a restaurant in that area! We got there mid afternoon and were starving. They were still serving brunch but didn’t feel like having eggs at 3pm so we decided on fish and shrimp tacos. They were so fresh and not overly breaded. I would definitely recommend this place. And don’t forget the view, seat outside if you can, sometimes they have live music. Overall it’s a good place to eat, service is good too. Give it a try if you’re in the area
