40.00 for blow drying After your already paying for a cut and color is extremely expensive. Color, cut, wash. How do you know what it came out like if you don’t blow dry?

Had a great blow out done by Chris on Friday. Lasted through Sunday. Loved the local art work in the salon. Took me right in time for my appointment. Very polite, laid back and chill-​exactly what I was looking for here in Key Largo. Also a great price. Highly recommend and will return on future trips.

Excellent blow out service. Chris made my very long curly hair look amazing in this humidity. Salon is very clean and the staff is very friendly. Next time I head to Fl I will stop in and get another blow out. I would highly recommend this place if you need your hair done for an event.

Brooke did a really nice men’s cut. She understood what we wanted and made it happen. I also got my bangs cut and will for sure go back to her for a regular cut.

I found this place through an ad in the Coconut Telegraph. The ad was for a $ 99 Express Keratiin treatment. As someone with extremely curly hair, I was thrilled not only with the price for this treatment but with the results. Joe, the salon owner, did my hair and I love it. He was very pleasant, kind, and just fun! Loved my time in the chair. The salon itself is funky and cool, no tacky fish décor, just colorful, gallery-​style artwork (for sale) and hip music playing on Pandora. All top-​of-​the-​line products are offered for use and for purchase. I will be going back for color and a cut. I’m so glad to have found this gem right next to Category 3 Restaurant. & Grill. Their online reservation system was so easy, too.

Nice that they closed the salon for our bridal party of 12 — everyone’s hair ‘fell’ and we had to restyle our hair for a 5:00 wedding. The overall experience was miserable. The hairstylists took much longer to do our hair than promised. I will never go back.

I don’t know what I was doing before I came to Up Your Hair. This salon is truly a gem in the Keys. Joe listens, cares, and takes the time to make your hair look perfect. Honestly, he’s the best hairdresser I’ve ever had and I can’t imagine putting my trust in anyone else. When I go to Up Your Hair, I always know I’ll walk out looking and feeling amazing.

My only hesitation with writing this review is that once word gets out it will be hard to get an appointment!
I moved to the area a few months ago and tried one other salon in Key Largo for a haircut. The owner cut my hair but was more distracted by everything else going on in the shop that I could have been a mannequin sitting in her chair and gone unnoticed.
COMPLETELY different experience with Up Your Hair. I was immediately greeted with a hello and friendly smile (first impressions are very important to me) by Caitlin. And even though Joseph was wrapping up his previous client, he came over to say hello and check things out (since I’m a new client) just before I got under the sink. Again, very important.
Next, Joseph asked questions and actually LISTENED before taking the first snip. I have slightly curly thin hair cut in long layers about shoulder length, and have been «trying out» a side bang. It’s been months since I’ve had it cut Joseph was terrific about explaining what he was doing and getting everything back in shape.
He also gets the «wash and wear» lifestyle and didn’t insist on blowing my curls out straight like so many stylists do. Why do you do that, stylists?!! It’s going to last 30 seconds out in this humidity!
The ease of booking an appointment online was just one more added bonus.
I promise you that I’m not related to Joseph or Caitlin, I found them through a Google search (even though I live just over a mile away — never saw their storefront!). They are a small business doing things right, and I really wish them success. I’ll definitely return!
