This is a great quaint restaurant. Everything was great! Great service, great food and best shrimp tacos in the keys.

Ughhh. We walked in the hot humidity to find out its closed. Lots of construction of its sidewalk.

This was the first time that I had hog fish and surprisingly it was very good. Plus their version of lobster mac & cheese is excellent. You should call ahead to check for a opening as they book up quickly.

A must do while in Key West! Put it on your bucket list right now. Many businesses should take a page from Deuces’ playbook. We arrived on a Saturday while they were pretty busy. The gentleman seating us let us know up front that they had just seated two large tables and it may be a while before we got seated and got our food. It was hot out and he brought a huge jug of water for while we were waiting outside. When we were seated(it only ended up being about a 15 minute wait) the server thanked us and apologized for the wait again. The Big Rod Coconut Ale from Miami Brewing was very tasty. The conch fritters were a nice appetizer. Everything that everyone ordered was delicious, including my shrimp po boy with sweet potato tots on the side. The only thing that would have made it better is if the bread was toasted. My fiancé enjoyed his blackened hogfish sandwich. My friends’ salad with fresh catch and fish tacos looked tasty as well. For dessert we couldn’t pass up the mango mint key lime pie, which ended up being my favorite pie on the whole trip. It tasted like a Mojito and was just delicious. I can’t wait to come back!

tl;dr Too much sauce & poor sandwich construction. :(Definitely a place worth trying, but stay away from the Tuna Sandwich Special with Arugula & Mango Salsa. Preface: I really wanted to like this place and give it a good review, especially after reading all of the positive things about this place on Unilocal.I think that I may have just ordered the wrong dish and will hopefully return the next time I’m in Key West to update my review. Tuna Sandwich with Arugula & Mango Salsa off the«Special’s» Menu 6.5÷10. To start with the positives: The fish was seared very nicely(cooked on the outside and slightly raw within) and tasted very good on its own. I chose the salad side(trying to be a little healthy haha), which is what you would expect of a standard salad. I tried my friend’s sweet potato tots and WOW! … these are a must. I know y’all are all trying to be healthy too, but these are worth cheating for. Now on to the not so positives: There was WAY too much sauce to taste anything else in the sandwich. This also made the bread very soggy. Combine that with some poor sandwich construction(the piece of tuna was too tall to sit in a sandwich well — see the picture) and you get what happens when a salad decides to take a sauce shower in your hands. In addition, the mangos were unfortunately very sour as well. Overall, I couldn’t get a good sense of the flavors other than the tartness of sour mango and the sweetness of the teriyaki sauce. Service: Very good! Our waitress was very nice and accommodating. She came by frequently with drink & water refills.

What can I say about this place? Absolutely wonderful experience! Worth the 30 min wait outside on a hot sunny day. Small place but excellent service. This gem of a place had an exquisite cuisine I have had in a long time. I had the mahi mahi tacos on a corn tortilla and my other half decided to try the tuna with mango salsa spread. To end with we shared a Kahlua dessert which was our favorite here. Literally finished the dessert in 5 minutes. I would recommend everyone to try this place out, if you are in Keywest. They do accept advance reservations. Please give it a go. You won’t be disappointed. Btw the service is top notch. All 5 stars for this place. P. S. I’m not a fan of wine so cannot comment on the red sangria my gf had. But she said it was good.

Really, really, good. I wanted ceviche, and the scallop ceviche with plantain chips did not dissapoint. After the shared appetizer, we shared the hog fish tacos. I have never had Hogfish, but after this experience I will definitely have it again. Waiter was very conscientious that I was gluten free. They had corn tortillas, beans, and plantains on the side for the entrée. We also shared the entrees, and the Waiter split the plate, which was appreciated. I definitely recommend! Next trip to Key West, we will be back!

I just came back from a fantastic trip in the Florida’s Keys, but I have to say that what the worse experience and food experience I have had in a very long time. We were 3 for dinner and the appetizers were ok. In regard to the main course, it would of been better to eat out of a can. This is a disgrace to the culinarians that are trying so hard to achieve great flavor profile. The Veal chop was cooked ok, but the sauce reminded me of a «cube» flavored with water… Eek!!! The Scallop were cooked properly, but the risotto would make an Italian kill you for massacring such dish. Understood that risotto isn’t easy to cook, but this has an extra effort to kill it! at this point, I do not want to elaborate on the Fish of the day last dis as it was indescribable. As well, the waiter was a cocky jerk… definitely not a repeat.

We found this restaurant while walking one day looking for places of the beaten path, made reservations for that night. Ended up having the BEST meal of our trip. The service was impeccable and food was incredible. I had the Gnocchi Lobster Mac and Cheese and my husband had the Fish and Chips. We finished our meal off with the Chocolate Covered Banana Bread. We are still talking about the food! We have told all our friends about it and plan to go back on our next trip to Key West.

Don’t hesitate for a second about eating at this gem! We made the mistake of not making reservations, but were happily seated at the bar and are very glad we did. The service was prompt and pleasant and our server, Marcel(?) assisted me in deciding between two entrees. He suggested the seared ahi tuna and it was amazing! Wasabi mashed potatoes and seaweed salad were the perfect addition to the dish. Hubby had scallops and risotto which were also delicious. We would definitely eat here again and will recommend to any friends visiting the area!

This place is awesome, if you can get in. The restaurant itself is tiny, I think they seriously only have 8 tables or so, but the food is top-notch. We had the burger and the lobster gnocchi Mac & cheese, and both were outstanding. The chowder is also worth a try, and they have some great beers on tap. Reservations are a must; don’t expect to walk up and get a table.

This was a good find for a delicious dinner. The duck bacon was wonderful! Good wine selection. I had the hogfish special. It was wonderful. My fiancé had a dozen oysters and a cup of their crab bisque. He’s still talking about the bisque… and he doesn’t rave about soup. Ever. So I’d strongly suggest that. It is pricy. I think it should fall into the $$$ category for Unilocal.Also. Make reservations. There are literally 4 tables in the restaurant. I did call ahead and was able to get reservations for 2 seats at the bar for 7pm. I was told that there were no tables open until 9. I was a little confused with the fact that two tables say open the entire time we were there eating. So o don’t know what that was about. I would have much preferred having a table because I always feel so rushed at a bar. Especially for such a costly dinner.

Outstandingly good. My wife and I Unilocaled this place and it lived up to our expectations. We sat at the bar and may note of how clean the establishment was kept. Small but smartly decorated. I had the fresh fish of the day and my wife had a chicken dish that were both to die for! The tiramisu and the chocolate covered banana loaf were perfect deserts to end the evening with. Can’t wait to go back.

This place was just ok to me. I got the French soup burger and it was just a burger. Nothing special. No real flavor. Good idea just not quite the best execution. I came with a group and pretty much sampled everything they had and the rest of the food was just the same. It’s good but nothing special. Nothing to bring me back. The conch fritters were pretty good though.

This was definitely one of the best stops for food that we had in Key West. Note: their space is tiny, so call for a reservation. We called that morning and were still able to get a spot, though only after 8pm. Well worth it. Their menu is unique and delicious. Apps include spanakopita, the conch fritters, and the greek trio, all fantastic and packed full of flavor. I got the Gobbler… turkey breast with bacon mashed potatoes on a sage stuffing waffle, all topped with rosemary brown gravy. So. Good. Everyone tried something different and all tried each other’s, each better than the last. This place was truly fantastic. Do not miss it!

I had a shrimp and fish bisque that was very good. For the main course, I had a sauteed fish filet(I’m not remembering which fish it was, I’m thinking grouper) that had a five pepper«rub» or shake. Very good. The sweet potato tots were fine, but not outstanding in anyway. If you like sweet potato fries(and I’m learning to like them more than regular fries), then you’ll like these. The service was excellent, friendly, helpful and efficient. They had a strong beer selection on tap. Make sure to get reservations. I didn’t get reservations, and when I arrived at about 5:30, the earliest they could squeeze me in was late that night. It’s a small place. There area a lot of mediocre tourist places to eat in Key West. This is not one of those.

Tried to make reservations earlier but had to settle for a few nights later. We arrived about a half hour early but out table was it available. Walked over to Duval Street and then squared the block. Arrived about 10 minutes early. Table still not ready but host went inside to get us wine. Table ready about 10 minutes later. 8 tables And Maybe 8 seats at the bar. We Ordered beet salad with goat cheese and spanakopita appys. Both were very good. We both ordered specials off the menu. I Also ordered lobster Mac and cheese which I heard was excellent. I wanted to taste it and there were no appetizer portions. I was not disappointed. I took most of it home. My special consisted of scallops, pink shrimp and a ragu of chorizo and octopus. Needless to say my place was empty we did not have dessert but that’s only because we are too much for dinner. Needless to say this place is s keeper.

It is great to see little places opening up in Key West. It has been two years since I’ve been on the island and this little store front has been closed for a long time. But no longer, as Off the hook grill has filled this little space with some good tastes. But little means little! Make a reservation and don’t show up with 8 people and expect to get in! they were running a special on oysters, so got 6 of those right away. Nicely sized, the liquor still on them, very yummy. What was nice was the variety of sauces, from traditional cocktail to what It think was siracha. Go with the Siracha and some lemon. I also got the duck bacon BLT pizza. this was very nice. The crust is just chewy enough, the bacon was a smokey yumminess, the arugula went well, the cheese was nice and the tomatos work fine. I would get that again. My DC had the shrimp and grits. Shrimp were cooked perfectly and the grits had a nice smokiness. this wasn’t the«spicy» type of shrimp and grits, more of a bacon smoky yumminess. One reason we came here was the sweat potato tater tots as my DC has a «thing» for sweat potato. The tots were crispy and good. but my only real complaint was they were served with a maple syrupy sauce. Sweet on sweet was just an odd issue and didn’t work for us. Now if I had saved some of the sauces and spicy things from my oysters and did a sweet spicy combo, well then they might really have something!

Made a last minute reservation here and was told it would be a 10 minute wait for the table. Which was fine. 25 minutes later we were still waiting outside in the very warm evening — a bit of a disappointment, although the free beers as an apology(without us saying anything) was a nice touch, and it was nice how the very friendly and chatty Hungarian waitress kept us company outside while we waited. I think the people leaving our table were taking their sweet time with the bill… This is a tiny tiny restaurant. Half is the bar, the other half is about 6 small tables. It was also pretty warm in there despite the AC being on 60 degrees(it felt about 80). I ordered a selection of appetisers. The shrimp and crab bisque was delicious, the fried green tomatoes with jumbo lump crab were great. I was less excited about the conche fritters(a little tough) and the duck bacon which was a little underdone and could have been crispier(the sweet chilli sauce dip was a little cheap). The(otherwise very good) waiter brought them all out at the same time so I had to ask him to take one back to keep it from going cold! My friend ordered the Catch(hogfish — which was a lovely meaty fish) with tater tots and salad. In all, some elements of the food were fantastic and I’m loathed to give this a 3 as they were full of apologies about the delay(without being prompted at all). But there is definite room for improvement. The AC for starters.
