Amazingly Delicious! We split the grilled Caesar salad and the drunken scallops. O.M.G. The scallops were amazing and served with a lobster mash potato. Seriously… It was yummy food porn. Staff is incredibly nice and the atmosphere is just laid back key west style.

Tried to eat at this restaurant again during the lunch crowd, with much the same results. The previous great reports were some time ago so I am not sure what has changed at the café, but would recommend you lo k at the menu and talk with your server before committing to dinner. Not the same lace as it once was.

Excellent first night’s dinner in Key West. the best coconut shrimp I’ve ever eaten. Snapper Meuniere, Hogfish with coconut curry were very good. The braised short ribs were melt in your mouth excellent. Conch fritters, and Conch Chowder were both really good. Great location(we were staying at the Waldorf Astoria right next door so it was a very easy option for us. Excellent service combined with really good food made the dinner especially nice for our family. I’d recommend it to anyone.

Great place to kick off your day. Yummy, fresh brunch food. I don’t like eggs and they accommodated me so I could have the breakfast tacos. Bacon Bloody Mary hit the spot. On the beach with a gorgeous view. Open air and chairs available in the beach. MUSTTRY!

Southernmost Beach Café is actually more like 3.5 stars. I’m giving it 4 because my meal was really good, but to be honest it was talked up SO much to me and just didn’t live up to the hype. It’s a nice location, right on a little beach and very bright and airy. Service was fast and friendly. I had the Southernmost Toast(«Challah bread battered in toasted coconut, bananas foster sauce, maple syrup») and it was delicious. French toast is one of those things that can be hit or miss at restaurants, in my experience, but theirs was cooked to perfection. The main issue was with my cappuccino. I’m not really sure what they actually served me, but I finally gave up after choking about half of it down. It was lukewarm, with a thick consistency not reminiscent of any cappuccino I’ve ever had, nor did it even taste much like a cappuccino at all. If the food hadn’t been so good I would have knocked off a star for that alone. Overall, it was an okay experience but to be honest this wouldn’t be one of my top suggestions for breakfast in Key West.

Such an awesome location, I don’t think any beach café or bar can top this one! Breakfast here was delicious, service super nice and the ocean view is just amazing. You can sit half inside/half outside and enjoy good food while relaxing with this amazing view. About the food: I ordered the salmon bagel with cream cheese and capers. It was plenty and I was so full afterwards. Prices are okay, too… Normal for key west I would say. Definitely would recommend this place o come back for breakfast.

No complaints about the food whatsoever, really good. Only complaints I have are with it being summer and outside its still very very hot, there are fans but not too powerful. Also anyone scared of birds shouldn’t come here they have roaming pigeons. I enjoy the pigeons but others might not. They keep to themselves for the most part.

Great location, clean, modern and the staff are really friendly. The only downside is the $ 30 resort fee and the $ 20 parking fee per day.

This place has such a beautiful view confront to the beach. It’s very chill and relaxing, good to hang out with friends and family or grab easy lunch and drinks. The appetizers were amazing. We had fried café calamari, which came with tartar sauce and bell peppers. Another entrée we had was fish and chips and they were good. Their conch chowder soup was good, but not the best I’ve ever had. The size was pretty small. The cocktails were awesome. We love their key lime margarita and couldn’t help but had to get another drink. Definitely recommend if you are in the area. Very relaxing by the beach.

Love a place that opens early! Second day in a row, sitting here at the bar … for breakfast? Open air restaurant, breeze passing through the bar. Sun just came up, life, is good! 7:24 am, time for the 2nd rum-n-coke, and, an order of bacon!

We had perfectly prepared Conch soup and calamari with a unique batter with tiny pieces of hot pepper in it. Excellent! Giant chunks of tender conch. And the cocktails were also great with generous not stingy pours. Good service even when packed on a Friday. I’d return.

I definitely miss the plethora of wonderful breakfast options that living in Key West offered! My friend and I had breakfast here on a recent trip«home»…right on the beach across from the Southernmost House is this beautiful little café, with spectacular views of the water, and the absolute VERYBEST cappuccino ever. It was a little small, but sooo good(I could have had three more, but at $ 6 each I decided against that)! Our server was delightful and split a fantastic omelet for me and my childhood friend… I believe it was the Farmer’s Market omelet. My son had the buttermilk pancakes covered with chocolate chips, and of course he loved them. This is an open air restaurant right on the beach… don’t be surprised if you find a few pigeons scrambling about your feet. They mix quite well with the sound of the ocean on the shore and the sand at your feet!

Their hash is out of this world. I’ve NEVER had hash this good. I’m back in Boston and I’ve thought about it way too much since we got back. The patio is open so you can sit by the beach so it’s a nice view. It’s also convenient that they have their own beach so you can hang out there before/after. Definitely worth a visit.

Located on the water, this café has a wonderful location. The staff is friendly and funny, you can pick a table by the water and you can see Ocean Waters for miles… The food was just OK, I don’t think it was outstanding. I had the salmon omelette. It was light. My BF got The One with sausage and again, it was good, but nothing to write home about… Great spot to get a drink, watch the waves and just relax.

They serve amazing Key Lime pie. It was not the best I had in town, but it was hands down super good. I didn’t experience anything else other than it’s patio and a very interesting experience in the woman’s bathroom where some women from California were changing clothes and barricading the door to get in since they decided to go for a quick dip in their clothes. One of them had better boobs than mine despite her buying hers. That’s the only thing that really reflects in my mind aside from key lime pie. Key lime pie… mmmm… I want some now. I miss you, KEYWEST!

We came here twice, both when we got to Key West and right before we left. It was next door to the place we stayed, so very convenient. This place has a lovely view of the water. Service is good but a touch slow. Nothing terrible, I promise. Just sort of running on «island time». But the food! Holy crapsticks, the food here is GOOD! The first day here we got here around lunch time. I had the coconut shrimp and my husband had a fish fry. Both were excellent! The coconut shrimp were HUGE. I think it came with 5 of them but they were so big. Easily filled me up. My husband’s fish fry was big too. Both the fries and fish were excellent. Next time we came here was for breakfast. I had the«one» breakfast. It was eggs with sausage and home fries and a biscuit. Everything was awesome. My mouth is watering remembering how good their biscuit was. My husband teased me because I ate ALL of my food. They gave a decent amount and it was all so tasty. My husband had french toast with sausage. His was excellent as well. I would consider staying at the resort that houses this restaurant just to eat here more often. Very good meals here!

My first and last meal in Key West were at the Southernmost Café. My friends were raving about the shrimp tacos. Unfortunately, during our first trip they already switched the dinner menu. No biggie, we ordered up a bunch of appetizers for the table. Our second trip we came back for lunch and were able to order sandwiches/tacos. Overall thoughts: Environment: The scene was an A+. We were sitting practically on the beach in a quintessential beachfront café. Food: This was a solid A. I had the eggrolls with pork, goat cheese and beans for my first appetizer and then a grouper sandwich for my lunch. They let me order my grouper sandwich off the menu so I was able to squeak in my grouper fix before leaving the island. It was prepared blackened and it made my day. I ordered it with a side salad which had a tasty little Caribbean vinaigrette. Beverages: Between my two trips I had a mojito, key lime margarita and 32 ounce bucket of their rum punch. All three beverages were wins, especially the rum punch. There were 5 types of flavored rum in a bucket and they did not skimp on the rum. It was fruity, strong and at $ 13 a real bang for the buck. Service: The service was just okay. Both servers were nice, but weren’t overly attentive. The service was flat out slow for our lunch visit. Critters roaming the restaurant: Pigeon fail. I didn’t go out to eat to have pigeons brushing up against my feet. These rats with wings were very comfortable around people and would walk right under the table. They are the reason I’m deducting a star. The food, beverage and beachfront property ultimately win the Southernmost Café a 4 star from me.

^^ 4 ½ Stars for Breakfast My husband and I strolled over for breakfast on a Thursday morning and grabbed two seats at the bar(as per usual). There were two rotating bartenders at this time, Ed and ?. Both were wonderful. Attentive, sociable, helpful and fun. First up we received our water orders and proceeded with a bloody and a mimosa. Both drinks were on special for a 2-for-1 $ 5 Happy Hour Breakfast special running between 8am and 9am. Who knew? They were tasty and refreshing for the $ 5 tag. Bonus day! Our orders came out in a timely fashion. French Toast($ 12) for my man, and Shrimp and Wlld Mushroom Omelet($ 13) for me. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his french toast. My omelet actually came with swiss cheese as well, but I switched that out easily with the bartender for tomatoes instead. Both the omelet and accompanying potatoes were delicious. Overall, it was a very nice experience and we look forward to visiting again. SIDEBAROBSERVATIONS — Since the buy-out and new ownership, the menu and rules of the establishment/staff have changed a bit. Will give it some time to see how things shake out. I took a peak at the DINNER menu on another visit and the PRICES seemed VERY expensive. Though beautifully presented, the price tags were heavy for a place with a no tablecloth atmosphere. Not a place I would visit or bring a family with children on a budget for dinner. TIP — Stick with lunch or the breakfast or late day happy hours for the best prices.
