Trying a few places while in the Keys, decided on this place as wanted seafood and be by the water. View is very nice as the boats were coming in front their day of fishing. If you’re hungry the portions are way above the top. We had the conch soup, mahi mahi and pork chops. We came in starving and left full and happy. Live music and but tables are flipped at a good pace. Recommend going after 7:30 to let the rush finish

Mahi mahi fish and chips was excellent. Conch fritters were excellent. Will be coming back for lunch tomorrow, and with all the places to eat in Key West, you know it must be good if you want to eat there 2 days in a row.

PHEW. It was HOTHOTHOT when our cruise ship docked in Key West. Beware, The Conch Shack is exactly that – a shack! It’s really easy to walk past on accident. Once you see the ATM, you’ve arrived. My wife and I shared a Lobster Roll and the Fried Shrimp. Both were excellent! The lobster was well done and sprayed with butter and served on Texas toast. There wasn’t as much mayo as I thought there would be on a lobster roll, but that may have been for the better, as I was able to get more of the lobster flavors without feeling overwhelmed by the mayo. The shrimp were nearly perfectly breaded and juicy. I believe we got 9 or 10 shrimp with our order in addition to fries, so the value for both things was pretty good. My only complaint about The Conch Shack is that there is only outdoor seating, and that seating is very limited – maybe 13 – 15 chairs total? Additionally, if you’re not wanting to shell out for a soda or bottled water, bring your own!

While walking around Key West, I was looking for a place to eat without steep prices and that has counter service, so I landed at the Conch Shack. It’s a food stand with limited seating around the stand and 4 – 5 seats in the back. I had never had a conch fritter before and thought it was an ideal place to try it since they advertise that conch fritters is one of their specialities and plus conch is in their name. They also have hamburgers and hot dogs on the menu if you aren’t a fan of seafood. I ordered the seafood sampler platter, which comes with 3 conch fritters, 5 fried shrimp, 1 piece of fried fish, fries, tartar sauce, cocktail sauce, and a remoulade sauce. The conch fritters were pretty good and tasted like a hush puppy with some spices and bits of conch in it. The fried shrimp and fish lacked seasoning and tasted plain. It was nice to sit in the back since it’s adjacent to the Hog’s Breath saloon, and I got to enjoy good live music while eating dinner. They are cash only. Probably wouldn’t order the seafood sampler platter again, but would come back to order the conch fritters if I was with company that had never eaten it before and was curious what they are.

This is actually my second time eating at this place on my visit to Key West. I love it here. It kind of reminds me of a food truck, except, it’s a shack. The menu is interesting, it has american fare like hot dogs, but also items that Key West is known for. Conch fritters, lobster roll and Conch ceviche. The first time I visited I had the a platter of conch fritters, fried conch strips and conch ceviche which were excellent. This time, I ordered just the conch ceviche, again it was excellent. Keep in mind, this is an outdoor venue, so expect to find very little seating and if you do, understand it’s outside. I will be in Key West again in September and will be sure to stop by this place again then.

Obsessed is an understatement… Let me start by asking: is there a rating higher than 5 stars?! If so, The Conch Shack deserves it. Coming across this little place was like striking gold! This little stand-alone shack really caught my attention — it seemed like the most authentic place among all the tourist traps of Duval. And I quickly learned that yes, this place is most definitely authentic and has the best darn conch fritters(among other delicious food) in Key West! We ordered the seafood platter: conch fritters, fried mahi, and fried shrimp. A-maze-ing. The conch fritters were SO darn good! Lots of conch, no gooey/rubbery pieces, delicious seasoning, and perfectly fresh! The fritters go excellent with the pink sauce as well as the key lime sauce. I loved the conch fritters from here so much that I am literally salivating as I write about them. Let’s just say that out of our 4 days here, we had the conch fritters here on 3 of those days. And that one day without them was really difficult to get through; I couldn’t stop thinking about them! The fried shrimp was also so good and don’t even get me started on the fried mahi! I am not a fish eater but omg, that fried mahi changed my life. So soft, tender, clean, and delicious! The kind, humble people running this place provide excellent service. There are only a handful of seats, but that’s the beauty of this place. I absolutely loved everything about this gem.

Man the conch here is splendid! Mahi mahi and shrimp were stellar too. My girlfriend and I are scared of eating fish and this didn’t even taste fishy at all, it was so good we came for four days in a row. We got the seafood sampler. Tip: all this fried stuff sometimes isn’t fully dried so I ask them to please let it sit for a while so I can have a slightly healthier meal

Everytime I come here I only order one thing. The conch fritters with spicy sauce. They’re the best conch fritters I’ve ever had. I know they have more on the menu but I always want conch fritters when im in the keys. I wish they had more places to sit but its a conch shack.

Good friendly establishment. Quality of seafood is not as. Good as elsewhere, but prices are not as high as others. Lots of fried food, served right out of the oil. Cash only.

This was a good spot, especially after the nasty food on the cruise shio we been eating. The prices are right and the food is decent. He serves beer here also. You really cant ask for much more. He coooks the food fresh and it is prepared in your face. I would recommend this place if you are near by!

Decent… I think they advertise as being the best but that’s definitely not true. I’ve had conch fritters from a lot of places and this one won’t stick out as a go back to spot. They were actually sorta spicy which I didn’t really like.

This was the first time I’ve had conch. There’s a reason you never see it on a menu anywhere. It doesn’t have much flavor and you’d be far better off eating shrimp or scallops or something. In any event, I’m convinced that conch shack offers up a good example of the dish, it just happens that I don’t like the dish. If you have to see what the hype is about, check it out. I will never eat conch again, though.

Conch fritters are very popular in Key West and I, of course, wanted to try them. I first heard about conch when I traveled to the Bahamas as a child. Most places sell a minimum of six pieces so I was glad the Conch Shack sold them in a batch of three which was just enough as a sampler. The fritters were terrific with the special dipping sauce. They do remind me of something similar to hush puppies with bits of conch. I also had a piña colada smoothie which was SO good and refreshing. Seating is really scarce here. Be prepared to stand and eat your fritters.

Conch fritters might be one of the best foods on the whole damn planet. Ground conch, onions, spices, and corn meal. So good, so Key West. Washed it down with a couple Coronas, and it’s a beautiful thing.

After eating at some of the other places around here I would have to say I’ve had better. We had the conch trio. Which is one deep fried brown basket with conch three ways. Deep fried, in a ball, and ceviche. The ceviche was the best. The citrus and the acid was not overly overpowerong and highlighted the conch’s light flavor. The ceviche was mixed with Bell peppers, scallions and some citrus. Probably lime or lemon. The conch balls were super crispy but the batter was a bit dense for my liking. The simply fried conch was just alright. Great value for 16 bucks.

We were only in Key West for the day so I wanted a little seafood fix and eat what the area is known for, conch. Found this little spot on Unilocal.Glad we stopped in for our first conch and lobster roll experience, which my husband, son and I shared. They were tasty but I thought they could have used more conch in them. But that was our first conch dish so nothing to compare it too. The dipping sauce was delish and the man behind the counter gave us another spicy sauce to try, which was also tasty with a little kick. The lobster roll was very good, plenty of tender lobster. Even my picky 8 year old liked and finished it off. My son also had the fries which crunchy and perfectly seasoned. The workers were super friendly and conversed with our son. They only except cash and there is limited stool seating but it is a «shack». We enjoyed our selves.

Maybe it’s just me but this was the first time i’ve tried conch fritters and i wasn’t totally impressed. the corn meal and sauces and lime made this a tasty snack but the conch was minimal and chewy. I think these would have tasted the same had there not been any conch inside at all.

A really little place with just a few seats in the front and back of the kitchen. Among three people, we shared conch fritters and ceviche of the day(not exactly sure what the meat was, but I believe it was conch as well). The conch fritters were lightly battered and seasoned, and the meat was definitely fresh… not too chewy and rough but not too soft either. There was a mildly spicy aioli and a key lime mayo, both of which complimented the conch fritters. The ceviche was mixed with bell peppers and onions, and the proportions of seafood to vegetables were just right. Two slices of lime were given with this. The ceviche was also very fresh. Good place for a quick bite or a full lunch!

This review is for the conch fritters only. They were good but there was way too much breading. I could barely find any conch. We ended up feeding most of it to the roosters walking around Duval street. Their spicy sauce is deeelicious :). Service was fine and beers are cheap. I would go back to try other stuff here!

WINNERWINNER, CONCHSHACKDINNER! My husband had the burger and hot dog and enjoyed them both. The burger is a frozen patty that you get well done, so there is no flexibility there. The whole burger package overall was well made and good. The bun was nice and soft, and the added items were just right. The hot dog was split and put on a flat top grill, and was very tasty as well. My husband would get both of these again. I had the conch ceviche, which I loved. I will definitely get this again. Freshly made with a nice bite of jalapeño, it was refreshing and delicious. Yay, Conch Shack! I’ll be back.

A bit overpriced. For a seafood platter you get a few shrimps and accras, and all the rest in French fries.
