Couldn’t wait to write this review but had to… My hands were dripping with the juices flowing from this heavenly cheese burger. Passed this place last week and put it on my list of to try things. Rarely do you find a burger that is this good without going to a restaurant in the city. I walk in and the owners greeted me like family. I chatted with the wife as her husband was busy manning the grill. They use Pat LA Freda meat for there burgers which is a mix of chuck, short rib and brisket. If you know anything about a great juicy burger it all starts with the meat. knowing what this meat is I couldn’t wait to get home and try it. I also got a side of hand-​cut fries which were cooked twice as any good cook knows, this is the right way. Let me tell you. This burger was spot on! Cooked med rare as I ordered it and juicy as can be that the juices were running down my hands. I’m glad it was served on a fresh lightly toasted brioche roll. The fries were crispy and delish and not a soggy mess. I highly recommend this place. It is right next to Fantasy’s club, but I think this place should have that name. Finally a great burger in New Jersey. Keep up the good work. See you again… real soon

Great place. They serve La Freda beef burgers. I love the food here. Fresh cut fries and now they have pizza !! Also consider yourself lucky when you get there on a day when they do italian hot dog specials, they are simply the best around anywhere. I haven’t had one yet but a few customers told me I must have a cheesesteak. I have made this a regular stop !!

I’m not going to lie it was hard to get to Chubbys for lunch, I hate Rt 34. Thankfully I did not give up and my perseverance was rewarded with delicious burger goodness.
Chubbys is unassuming and the staff are kind and welcoming. During my visit I was greeted by all 3 different staff members, it did not feel forced her up out of obligation but people who are genuinely happy to see you walk in.
Clearly confused they handed me a menu as I came in the door and made some recommendations. It took about five minutes for my food come out but it was so fresh I thought I was in a deli.
The burger was excellent cooked medium to perfection, topped with their special chubby sauce it was refreshing and the meet was high quality. The burger did not come with fries so I ordered a side and was so glad I did. The fries are twice cooked they were flavorful and crispy. They do not have a soda fountain so a bottle of soda later brought me to $ 14. It may seem more expensive than a standard lunch, but I left feeling like it was money well spent and they delivered excellent food definitely a great value for their price.
From its clean interior to its friendly staff and it’s delicious food I would recommend checking out Chubby’s!

This place is delicious and definitely worth a visit. Very fresh ingredients. Best burger I’ve had in a while on a tasty soft brioche bun. Chix sandwich was perfect — all the ingredients and on grilled bread — which is key. They do sandwiches right. The owners are very friendly and care deeply about the food.

Chubby’s is consistent, fresh food. Under priced as I see it. (And I’ve been in the food biz for many yrs.)
I am related BUT, i would post NOTHING if I truly didn’t feel this way.
I feel they don’t do ½ the biz they should. Maybe wrong demographics. But, great, fresh food. From ppl. That truly LOVE what they do.

I started coming in last year for the $ 2 breakfast special (now $ 3.50) — a large coffee and a pork roll/​egg sandwich. You can’t beat that. A little pit stop before work or on lunch. Service is always great, food and coffee always hot and a bag of really good chips or special beverage to grab to go. I love this little ma & pa shop!

Stopped off for lunch today. Great lunch spot and great atmosphere. Staff was friendly… I would recommend to others without hesitation, it is a hidden gem in Linden!

Holy cow !!! An absolute must stop. Talk about getting it right. This place is a home run… grand slam… upper deck. By far, the best burger around for miles. And it doesn’t stop there. Breakfast sandwiches are the best around as well. Even the french fries stand above everyone else’s. Service is quick, friendly and on the money. They’re not on the ballot for best burger on
by accident. Looking forward to trying more of their menu and daily specials .So far — so unbelievably good.

A fairly new place I just discovered. Open for breakfast and lunch, I decided to go for lunch to sample their hamburger made from Pat LaFrieda meat, hand cut fries, and natural casing grilled beef frank. Everything was excellent. Two perfectly grilled ¼ lb patties with lettuce, tomato, cheese, sauce similar to thousand island dressing, put on a fresh bun. Fantastic burger at a great price that included a good quantity of fresh cut fries. My dog was an all beef Sabrett prepared on a griddle, and at ⁶⁄₁ or 6 to a pound, is bigger than what most hot dog stands serve. Very reasonably priced at $ 2.25 for a big grilled dog that included homemade chili. Everyone I was with enjoyed their food. My wife loved the soup I brought home for her. I can’t wait to go back again; hopefully today if I have time. A clean restaurant providing delicious fresh food from 2 caring owners. Highly recommended.

I really enjoyed my Chubby burger today. Warm ownership and staff, super clean place (the restroom was immaculate!), plenty of parking, giant specials menu. My Chubby burger was 2 ¼ Pat LaFrieda patties, double American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, raw slivered red onion, Chubby sauce, pickles on the side, on an excellent bun from a local bakery. Twice cooked, hand cut fries. $ 8.99, quite good value. Any size coffee is the excellent TM Ward roasting company of Newark and Chatham, $ 1! I’d give it five stars but I want to go back and try some other things.
