Wow! I came to exchange some shoes for a different size that had never been worn. I had had them for 19 days which was 5 days past the exchange policy. This was no big deal and I would have completely understood if they couldn’t take them back. Instead of simply explaining the policy to me, the sales lady huffed in my face and called the owner making it appear that this was the most inconvenient thing that ever happened to her. I tried another size of the same shoe, but it was still uncomfortable so I asked if I could try a different shoe. Wrong question! She glared at me again and called the owner to verify. She wouldn’t look at me as I shopped the store and I decided I had better just find a pair of shoes that she didn’t have to pull a size for me, grabbed a pair of flip flops and went to the counter. I asked if I could see the original receipt because I wanted to make sure I found some for an even exchange and the sales lady said«we need to keep that.» Yikes, I didn’t want to keep it, I just wanted to see it! I must say that the owner let me exchange the shoes and that was kind of her. But again, I was in no way desperate to exchange them or demanding, yet the sales lady was angry as soon as I asked about it. Disappointed!

April at Sandal Tree in Kihei, provided the best service ever, anywhere. She is a valuable employee and should be recognized for her professionalism and willingness to go the extra mile for the customer. She made numerous phone calls to her manager and the owner on my behalf regarding a sizing issue. She stayed in touch with me, and because of her I bought two pairs of the same shoe in different sizes, getting the second pair at a discount. I hope her employer realizes what an asset April is the to the business. Joan M. Seattle

Updating my review after going into the store a few times over the past few months. Service — NONE. It is borderline contempt. If you have a question, their answer is laced with attitude, as though you should know the answer already. I love Olu Kai’s and they happen to have what I wanted to purchase, but after my latest visit I will take my business elsewhere.

The Sandal Tree always has a great selection of beach/resort shoes. I’m a big fan of my new SANUK flip-flops! The service was fine on this visit – we got what we needed and were off!

You gotta love Hawaii. Here’s a shop that basically has 90% flip flops. As you know, that what most Hawaiian’s wear. You can find some high end flip flops, like Olu Kai here. The selection was great. However, the store clerk was an idiot and didn’t give me the time of day. Their lost.
