Looking for moderately priced walking sandals in Kihei today. The saleswomen brought me a number of choices in my color and size– all on sale. I found 2 good pairs. I was pleased with selection, price, and service.

Let me start with my usual statement about shoes and shoe stores. You get what you pay for. If you get cheap shoes they won’t last and they’ll ruin your feet. You may«Payless» now, but later you’ll pay for it. Trust me on this. Overall the Walking Company is a good shoe store. Most of the stuff they carry will not harm you, unlike most shoe stores. But, yes, you pay for it. They’re expensive. But not as expensive as cheap shoes in the long run. That said I found this location not as good as I have come to expect. Maybe it was just this one sales lady, but she didn’t seem as competent as I’m used to. She knew all the terms and knew you didn’t want a narrow shoe if you have a neuroma, but didn’t seem to know the shoes well. The shoes she sold us ended up not quite fitting right. They were adequate to finish our vacation here, but my wife could tell they weren’t right within about a day. It’s one thing to walk around the store a few times, it’s another to walk-walk-walk-walk while on vacation(beaches, shopping, nature walks, attractions, etc). When we got home we went to our local Walking Company and they swapped out the shoes for something more appropriate. My wife is delighted with these new ones. How many shoe stores would do that for you?
