We started with the crab bisque, which was creamy and delicious. The grilled chicken and mango salad was light and flavorful. Great seasoning on the chicken. Then our experience took a turn for the worse. My husband ordered the grilled shrimp cobb salad. The shrimp were undercooked(raw in some parts), and we were SHOCKED when an INSECT crawled out of from within the salad. The chef apologized and offered us a free dessert, but unfortunately my husband lost his appetite after such a disgusting experience. We really expected more from an establishment like this.

The best meal we had on the island while we were here. My wife had the Mahi Mahi, I had the daily fish special, I would say one of the best fish dinners I have had, we also ordered a pitcher of Sangri, good thing we walked here

Really good food, but — expectedly — pricy. The Sanibel Chicken, Macadamia Crusted Snapper and Tortilla Soup were especially notable. — Nice atmosphere and live music topped off an enjoyable meal.

Look forward to coming here every time I’m in Maui! The bread with the cinnamon butter they set on the table is just a sneak peek for the kind of food they have here. The blackened fish tacos are a must along with the artichokes, the snapper, the chicken, and anything else you order on the menu. An unforgettable meal!

My wife and I came here on our second night in Maui on a whim after checking out some Unilocal reviews. Overall, it was a nice experience but there were high and low points. We had made a reservation earlier in the day but when we first showed up there was definitely some confusion around the hostess station and it took a few minutes to sort out. Not really a big deal but then when we were seated, we noticed tables that sat after us were greeted first which rubbed us the wrong way. The waitress overheard my wife make a comment which actually got us a free crab cake appetizer which was very good. For appetizer, we ordered macadamia goat cheese which was really good. My wife had a Mai Tai which she enjoyed and I ordered a Mojito which was a little stronger than anticipated. My wife enjoyed her salad but I thought my seafood was a little over-cooked. I ordered a seafood special that came with shrimp, a filet of fish, and cheese grits. The shrimp was really good but there was only one on the plate. Cheese grits were on point. The filet was a little overdone but still had a nice flavor. As the waitress heard we were on our honeymoon, she brought us out a free key lime pie for dessert which was tasty but I was so full that I only had a few bites.

Really great considering it is a chain! The drinks were well crafted and and the fish tacos I had were some of the better ones on the island.

We had the special of the night, a steak dinner and a kids burger meal. Pros: always pretty consistent in service & quality of food. The cocktails are always perfect. Cons: touristy, noisy.

Kylene was the best bartender ever(ok but for Tim ;). She was fun even when she was over run by the demands of new people at the bar — what a special pleasure to have in Maui. If you have the opportunity to visit Tommy’s — see if Kylene is there!!!

I should have come here on day one of 8 day trip vs day 6 – 8! Would have saved $$$ and had everything on the menu. Great happy hour menu and prices… And of course great staff and service. Don’t let the mall location or the franchise tag fool you, this please is top notch.

Though no change in rating, another update is in order because we tried new items! I like the lunch setting here more than I do the dinner as it’s usually less crowded and you can actually see the tranquil surroundings. FOOD: Spiked Guacamole & Fire Roasted Salsa — This app was listed on a separate lunch specials menu. I’m not sure what«spiked» the guac but it was chunky and creamy, nothing different than the norm. The salsa looks like it could burn down a building but wasn’t spicy at all. The tortilla chips were mainstream. Filet Mignon Loco Moco Tacos — This was also on the lunch specials menu. I’m glad my spouse ordered it because I wanted to try it due to it’s odd ingredients and local title. The presentation was very visually appealing. 3 grilled soft shell flour tacos were filled with a little fried rice, medium-temperature slices of steak that were super tender, some brown gravy, and cute little over easy quail eggs which tasted just like chicken eggs, only smaller. The flavor was very subtle, a tiny bit savory, but overall is lacking oomph to give it character. Crispy Fish Sandwich — My fave item on the menu. Though it’s not listed on the dinner menu, you can still order it. The huge filet’s tasty beer batter is always deep-fried to perfection. Toppings are butter lettuce, tomato, cucumbers, and caramelized onions, but unfortunately no pickles like before. The side of fries were good, and the tartar sauce is total winners! SERVICE: James was our server. He was very patient, professional, and checked on us often. OVERALL: I don’t have too many favorites here but the Crispy Fish Sandwich can’t be beat.

Had to hit this place on our Maui bucket list due to high ratings from a friend. Unfortunately I was totally underwhelmed. The service was great but the food was average. We went here during restaurant week and scored a prix fixe meal which was fab. Here were the items I ordered: 3⁄5: Chicken Tortilla Soup. I could snooze as I am writing this as it was that unmemorable. 3⁄5: Hawaiian Fresh Catch Ono. The fish was cooked perfectly and the rice tasted great. Overall it was just desperately lacking sauce. SAUCEPLZ! Skip it, pono.

Love this restaurant. Blacked mahi mahi tacos are so good and very filling. Seared tuna salad is gorgeous ruby red seared tuna atop fresh greens. Cocktails are strong. Service us top notch. Outdoor seating is spectacular.

Love this place ! When I lived on Oahu, happy hours anywhere were always a big hit and a good way to avoid paying tourist prices when you’re a local. The food at this Maui restaurant is delicious, though expensive so go for happy hour 2p-5p everyday in the bar… just because ! See menu below: Small Plates: Ahi Tuna Poke $ 9, Blackened Fish Tacos $ 7, Angus Burger Sliders $ 7, Macadamia Goat Cheese, $ 7, Jerk Chicken Lollipops $ 6, Pulled Pork Quesadilla $ 6. Martinis $ 8 — Pineapple Paradisio, Classic Lemon Drop, Classic Grapefruit Basil, Ketel One Vodka, Coconut Cloud. Cocktails $ 7 — Classic Margarita, Mai Tai, Bahia Sangria, Crazy Cuban, Classic Mojito, Berry Inspired Hint: The Wailea Shopping area does free music at The Shops @ Wailea(Wailea on Wednesdays), which is worth a trip to hear some great tunes.

I am not usually someone who typically chooses to eat at a chain restaurant when traveling, but someone highly recommended I give Tommy Bhama located at the Shops in Wailea a try. First of all, the ambiance is cozy and romantic. Their beautiful spacious outdoor lanai with soothing local live music floating in the background set the mood for our enjoyable romantic night out. The best seating is outside. So be sure to make a reservation in advance, as the place was packed. Even though this is a chain restaurant, they do source the majority of their produce from the islands locally. They have a good wine selection, and the crafted cocktails are well done. Among some of the best we had during our short time on the island. The service was impeccable, and we very much enjoyed our server. The food was good, but the standout was the sliders! They were incredible, a must have menu option. The second favorite was the macadamia nut crusted snapper. If you are staying in the Wailea area like we were, this was a good dining experience. I think this would be the perfect place for an island happy hours, as the drinks were solid and the appetisers were delicious. The desserts were also tasty. I especially loved the pineapple crème brule, served in a pineapple, it was incredible!

I’m a huge fan of the clothes first time I have ever eaten at the restaurant, they have a great atmosphere best my time I have ever had in my life, and fresh food you can simply order at the appetizers and before not that overpriced compared to other restaurants in the area and Maui We need one in Dallas Fort Worth immediately

A successful restaurant and a successful clothing store in Maui! Yes, Tommy Bahamas Restaurant & Bar has been around since 1999 in upscale Wailea(Shops at Wailea), located on the second floor next to its clothing store. Is Tommy Bahama an actual person? Nope! A fictional name dreamt up by three entrepreneurs who loved to relax at the beach. In 1992, they created its signature island-style camp silk shirt with graphic floral prints and squared-off bottom to be un-tucked. With this signature shirt and additional men’s clothing, the Tommy Bahama’s line was sold in upscale stores(Nordstrom’s, Sak’s 5th Ave., Neiman Marcus), before the first stand-alone retail store opened in Florida in 1996; an attached restaurant opened three months later. Their inventory expanded into women’s sportswear, swimwear, accessories, footwear, and home furnishings as additional stores were opened, With corporate headquarters in Seattle, WA, there are now more than 160 company-owned stores worldwide, with 16 of these stores having an attached restaurant. Hawaii has three of these restaurants: Shops at Wailea in Maui, Mauna Lani on the Big Island, and the recently opened restaurant in Waikiki on Oahu. Having lunch with my daughter at Tommy Bahama’s in Wailea was a pleasant experience. The menu offerings were delicious and gorgeously presented. We had: * Strawberry lemonade($ 5.00). Freshly squeezed lemonade with the juices from fresh strawberries, plus you could see the strawberry seeds in the drink. It was so perfectly refreshing, not overly sweet nor tart. It came with a free refill. * Bread with signature butter. Fluffy, warm, freshly baked white bread in the form of four clovers with whipped butter mixed with cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and honey was highly addicting and so delicious! I couldn’t resist asking for another set of bread, and of course, got full by the time the main entrée arrived. * Crispy fish sandwich with fries($ 17.50). The beer-battered fried fish was so flavorful and so large that it was partially folded over and hung over the bun. The fish was perfectly crispy and tasty and topped with honey roasted onions, a large thick tomato slice, lettuce, and pickles. The bun was perfectly baked with a golden glaze on top. The fries were excellent, crispy on the outside and moist in the inside. This entrée was absolutely delicious! * Blackened fish tacos($ 19.50). Three soft taco shells with cooked basa filets topped with tomato relish, chipotle aioli, pineapple, and cilantro were excellently prepared and very tasty! The accompanying cole slaw was refreshing; the caramelized plantains with a pineapple sour cream/coconut dipping sauce were over the top and not overly sweet! * Malted chocolate pie($ 12.50). We took this to-go, as we had wanted to share this with my daughter’s husband. Good thing we did, as although it seemed to be pricey, it was HUGE and could have fed several more people! It had a chocolate cookie crumb crust, a filling with lots of mocha mousse, and topped with a toffee crumble. It was very smooth, creamy, and flavorful! Our service, Leah, was excellent! She was so friendly and gracious by welcoming us, «talking story» with us, explaining the menu, bringing our orders in a timely manner, refilling our drinks, and ensuring that we enjoyed our dining experience. Knowing how much I enjoyed the bread and butter mixture, she even packed up a whole new clover of four to-go(plus most of my fish sandwich as I ate kept on eating the bread)! Plus, the leftover fries were packed up with a small container of ketchup! She even packed napkins and brand new utensils! Small little details like that made it special! With Restaurant Managers Chad Butan and Megan Moran, plus Head Chef Marcus Lege, this restaurant has an island-inspired, farm to table menu using locally farmed produce, such as Molokai sweet potatoes, Hamakua mushrooms, Maui Cattle Co. beef, and Surfing Goat Dairy cheese. Menu selections are varied and include appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, burgers/sandwiches, and desserts. Their popular items include coconut shrimp, piña colada cake, and crème brulee served in a cross-section of a pineapple. While menu items are somewhat pricey(entrees are $ 30+), a lighter lunch instead of a heavy dinner makes it affordable; however, I think that the higher prices at this restaurant are well worth the excellent dining experience that you will get. The restaurant has a seating capacity of 280 and has a beautiful spacious interior décor in the classic Tommy Bahama plantation luxury designs. Many tourists prefer to sit in the spacious lanai under huge umbrellas and palm trees. They can also do group or event dining with floral requirements and live music. The restaurant is open daily from 11 am to 10 pm, with happy hours from 2 pm to 5 pm. It was a super relaxing lunch and an enjoyable one for local residents in a major tourist area! Looking forward to going back!

When I hear the word«Tommy Bahama», I automatically think about the Tommy Bahama camp silk shirts. Never in my wildest dreams do I associate«Tommy Bahama» to a Restaurant. Well, that all changed today, as I met up with my good friend Robert, who I consider my «big bruddah!» And his beautiful wife tonight for a meal at Tommy’s. What can I say… the Tommy Bahama restaurant is located in the beautiful shopping complex called — The Shops at Wailea. The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor, just upstairs from Longhi’s restaurant. What can I say about the restaurant? This is an open air restaurant, it has beautiful décor, and they keep the theme of -«relaxed, casual, & island lifestyle. There was live music tonight, but we were at the other end of the restaurant, so although I could here the music, I was not really paying too much attention. The Tommy Bahama restaurant menu offers a lot of seafood items, as well as steaks, ribs, & salads. If you’re not into any of that, they do offer burgers & sandwiches too. They have a full bar, featuring mixed drinks, wine, & beer. We ordered a few items for tonight’s dinner, we had the following — 1. Ahi Poke Napoleon — Poke with capers, sesame, guacamole, & flatbread. 2. Seared Ahi Tuna — Chili & Brown Sugar, Vegetable Succotash, Edamame Purée. 3. Macadamia Nut Encrusted Snapper — Hawaiian Red Sea Salt, Grilled Asparagus, Almond Rice, Wasabi Soy Beurre. 4. Kona Coffee Crusted Ribeye — Cauliflower– Chive Mash, Lemon Arugula, Garlic Butter. 5. Coconut Cake 6. French Pressed Coffee 7. Beers, Wine, & a Mai Tai What can I say about da grindz? To start our meal, we ordered a — «Ahi Poke Napoleon» for an appetizer, and when we got it, I want to say it kinda reminded me of a dish I’ve eaten before from Uncle Fish Market & Grill. The poke was good, but I really liked the flat bread which came with the dish. The flat bread kind of reminded me of a lavash sticks. For my dinner, I ordered the«Seared Ahi Tuna», and I was really pleased with my meal choice! What can I say… bruddah Fran GOTDAGRINDZ tonight!!! Nom! Nom! Nom! The ahi was seared perfectly, and the chili & brown sugar sauce was delicious! The mixture of the sauce was not spicy, but there was a hint of sweetness from the soy based sauce. The vegetable succotash also complemented the fish real well! My friends ordered the Macadamia Nut Encrusted Snapper & the Kona Coffee Crusted Ribeye(Sorry gang, I forgot to get pics of this). And for dessert, we got the delicious coconut cake! It was so light & delicious! And of course, how can you not have some locally grown coffee? LOVEIT!!! Service was EXCELLENT! As our waitress was very attentive, as she always came by to check on us. Food was served quickly after we placed our order. What a wonderful meal! But as beautiful as the restaurant was, and how wonderful the food was… as I had said this before… There is nothing better in this lifetime, then to spend it with your family & friends… it really doesn’t matter when you go, or what you eat… it’s all about taking the time out from your busy schedule to spend it with your loved ones. That’s what ohana is all about!
