Garden Ponds Nursery

This review is long overdue, but I had a really great customer service experience from Jake at Garden Ponds Nursery that I wanted to share to anyone considering where to go for gardening supplies and services in Kauai.
Sadly I’m not a resident, but was on vacation in Kauai a couple weeks ago and while on the way to a Na Pali snorkeling tour, I stopped at the Garden Ponds Nursery. It’s conveniently located right off the main highway and I thought the grounds were really pretty. I wish I would have had more time to explore, but I wanted to get a cool souvenir and found a glass display case with cute gold-​plated animals that would fit perfectly in my planters. I bought a gecko from Jake, he was super nice when he rang me up, and I was on my way.
Fast forward four hours, and I had returned from my boat tour… and I really wished I had picked up the butterfly and dragonfly figurines from the nursery. I arrived in the parking lot at 5:03 and saw the Closed sign…5 PM. Ugh… but wait… there’s Jake, still closing up. I asked if I could make a quick purchase, and he could not have been more awesome about it! In fact, he had already shut down his computer and had to reboot it just so I could pay with my credit card (I had no cash, bad me). I hated being that annoying touristy customer, but I already totally regretted not getting the other items which would serve as perfect reminders of my amazing beautiful time on the island. Jake was completely cool, made me smile, and definitely went above and beyond to help me out. I really hope anyone who has a chance to make their gardening purchases does so from Garden Ponds, and especially thank you to Jake for creating yet another great memory of my time there. Mahalo!
