I saw the pictures on here about this place and knew I had to stop. Looked like they had a ton of craft beers and that is what I look for when I travel. I was a little disappointed to see that the shelves were not as full as pictured. It could be because it’s off season but disappointing nevertheless. As I looked through the beer selections I did stumble on a few I can’t get at home. I did also notice they had a highly sought after beer but the price on it was double what it was going for anywhere else. I asked why it was so expensive and basically was told, it will sell for that price so why not. I obviously didn’t touch it but it made me very leary about the prices of their other beers. Outer Banks may be a tourist trap but I surely didn’t want to pay for it. I noticed they had another room and was told they have beers on tap and started doing growler fills. I typically won’t bring home a growler but they had a beer on tap that I saw they sold in a bottle and wanted to try it. The growler(32oz) was the same price of the bottle(22oz). So I grabbed the growler($ 3 for the plastic container/not glass) because I knew we would be drinking it over the weekend. When she handed it to me I had to tighten the cap as it was loosely placed on there. The nice lady who helped me was very kind and offered great service, so I hope this review is no reflection on that. But for the selection and price, I wouldn’t get anything here unless it is something I am really looking for.

Fantastic selection. Friendly, helpful staff. This is a great place to pick up some local and not so local brews. Build your own six pack, buy singles, check out a beer flight or wine tasting.

What a disappointment! I love wine and after picking up a brochure for this place at the visitor’s center and seeing that it had classes and tastings all in one. thought it would be the perfect place to stop… NOT! It was basically a wine & beer store with a sad«wannabe» wine bar connected to it. They did have a small place where you could pay for a wine tasting,…$ 2 per tasting from a MACHINE(no one to tell you about the wine or suggest one to you, not to mention the price is ridiculous for somewhere that boasts being a «snob free zone»). I saw a sign about their upcoming class, which was out of brochures so I asked the guy behind the counter about it. He seemed a little clueless and told me that I could sign-up now and would have to give my credit card number to him to hold a place(at $ 20 per person) for a class, that he said may or may not be cancelled. The way he talked, they don’t get enough people to sign-up. Additionally, I found out we would only be tasting FIVE wines for that price. Why would I go here again when I can go get a FREE wine tasting at Sanctuary Vineyard right up the road? What a disappointment… don’t waste your time!

Love this place! It’s not just a wine store that touts being a «snob free zone,» the adjoining tasting room offers a nice alternative to tapping into free wifi at a coffee shop. We escaped the house and holed up in the tasting room for two hours on a rainy Thursday. The serve yourself wine dispenser was extremely helpful while we were working out a particularly harrowing chapter of our book. With eight different wines, ranging from $ 1 an ounce to $ 2.25, I had plenty of creative juice to keep me going. They also serve flights of micro brews and have a nice little cheese selection.

This is a VERY well stocked market! They have wines, organized by origin, a wide champagne selection, and many craft beers to choose from. There are some chocolates and wine accessories. There’s also a nice, small bar attached to the market with six beers on tap. If you’re a wine drinker, there’s a very cool wine machine, where you obtain a card, place it into the machine, place a wine glass under a spout, and choose from a taste, a half glass, or a full glass of wine. I was in this small bar for a happy hour and it was a nice small space to try wines and beers and gather with friends. Highly recommended to stock up on your drink needs in the OBX.

Beer! This is always one of the first places we stop to stock up for the week. They have an absolutely fantastic beer selection. I especially love it because they have beers I can’t get back home in Cleveland. The prices are reasonable and comparable to what I see elsewhere, and the staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. Whenever I have a question or need a recommendation they always come through. They also have a pretty impressive looking wine selection. I’m not a wine drinker, so I can’t really speak to that, but from what I’ve seen it looks well stocked. Can’t be beat if you’re looking for craft beer!

Great place to take a pit stop before making your way out to dinner. Chips does beer and wine flights and they usually have some really great craft brews on tap. In addition to wine and beer in their tasting room, you can put up some pretty interesting micros at their store. You can find some great wines from around the world too, all at pretty reasonable prices for a speciality wine & beer store/tasting room. As far as the staff goes, they are pretty chill and down to earth. We stayed there for like 45 minutes just drinking beer playing some card games. It was a good way to start the night.
