My daughter and I went in to get fudge. The lady behind the counter acted like we were wasting her time. She was very rude. We spent a small amount on a couple of peanut butter cups and left to find more fudge. We found the Fudgery, right down the road and ended up spending $ 40 on fudge! We will not be going to this Forbes again.

Fudge was the most expensive we encounter and same with everything from postcards, keychains and all that other stuff you pick up on vacay and then wonder why you did it when you get home and come to your senses. We were never even greeted and it wasn’t crowded. You can find better prices elsewhere.

We went in here to pick up some taffy and treats for friends back home after our vacation. The taffy is pretty good. The fudge is decent. The service is horrible. After spending $ 40 in their store, I asked to use the restroom for my 2 year old toddler and the«manager» proceeds to tell me they don’t have a public restroom, but that I should use the restroom in the restaurant next door. I am sure their neighbors appreciate that. Paying customers should have access to a restroom(plain and simple). She literally turned my young daughter away. I was so bothered by this that I asked to return my purchase and the«manager» points to the sign at the register that says no returns. Buyer — Beware. Mr. Forbes– I urge you to take a hard look at your management and staff. Following rules and policies is important to a business, but so is common sense and good customer service. The staff at this location is lacking both. The fiasco ended with the«manager» following me out to the parking lot because she saw me taking photos of the establishment. She asked if I was going to post this on the internet, and here it is.

Taffy was NOT good… ATALL. we had four bags for one adult and 3 kids and they all hated it. The beat review was«this one’s not terrible. Oh wait… yes it is.» $ 23 right in the trash.

We come here every time we’re at the OBX! FRESHEST taffy I’ve had in my life! EVER! Get your taffy and gifts for the ride home! It’s worth it! I got 3 boxes for friends and customized a bagful for me and the family from the back wall. The have really cute gifts(like mugs, postcards, t-shirts, etc.) The day we went, their cash register was not working and the staff had to write down all the receipts. Long line! But for our troubles, the owner didn’t charge us for the postcards we were planning on purchasing! Nice! Not a fan of their fudge. It seemed to have a granular texture to it. Not smooth enough. Glad I didn’t buy a full pound. But I will definitely keep coming back for the taffy!

Came here to get my husband some fudge and found all types of other delicious candies and gifts to bring back to the coworkers and the girl watching my pets back home. Both the taffy and quality of the chocolate beats any I have had before. A box of taffy, or you can pick your own flavors and put it in a bag for a great price, was the perfect gift to bring back home. I brought a box of taffy and a box of assorted chocolates home to my workplace, and let me just say my coworkers(and I will admit me too because I couldn’t resist taking a few delicious treats) enjoyed all of it immensely(and quickly as it was gone in minutes). My husband really liked the fudge and I can also attest to that. I liked the vanilla the best while husband really liked the snickers and the chocolate ones with nuts in them. I can only talk for the workers at the store in Nags Head closer to the outlet mall, but they were all very patient with me, and and I observed also with other customers, as I had to choose just a few things to take home out of the HUGE variety of yummy looking candies and such that they had. If you are not looking for candy, the souvenirs are also great for something to take home to remind you of the relaxing vacation you had at the beach or for a gift for someone else. Overall a great place with DELICIOUS candies for yourself and for others. Good for after meals and last minute gifts on the way home. There is definitely something for everyone in the family. Chocolates(the molds and sea salt caramels are to die for), chocolate pretzels, taffy, rock candy, jawbreakers, fudge and much more. Don’t worry they have sugar free candy too.

The salt water taffies here are delicious. They beat the kind that they sell in the stores all over OBX – the kind decorated with lighthouses. I’m a fan of the throwback packaging, but I noticed that Forbes is actually from Virginia Beach! Oh nos! No worries, they’re close enough and it’s all the same(salt) water, right? Another thing about the packaging, I wish there was a flavor-legend included in the box. There’s all sorts of crazy colors and everyone asks me what they are and I never know. I guess I should have taken a picture of the bulk-by-flavor wall in the store to jog my memory. Forbes is also a great place for chocolates and candy. I was very happy with their chocolate covered s’more and picked up a chunk of their coffee fudge they were sampling as well. I also bought a huge sack of «hot and spicy peanuts» and some fruit jellies as well. The prices were a tad high for what they were selling, and many times I had candy/chocolate picked out and put it back when I found out the price. The prices are done by weight and for many things, they have huge chunks of chocolate that they don’t allow you to break down into smaller pieces. There are also some cute trinkets here, such as starfish, sand dollars, and turtles carved out of wood. The staff was a bunch of little kids though(is that legal), and were slightly loud, annoying, and hard to get the attention of when wanting to make a purchase.
