Do not use this company. This company charged me over 1000% mark-​up for a part and defended the practice as the cost of doing business. I am willing to pay $ 120 for the service call and $ 50 extra to «check the freon» but I will not happily pay $ 176 for a $ 15 part. This is price gouging at its worst and the owner was not willing to work with me at all.

We have been on a service plan with Outer Banks Heating and Cooling for 12 years. When you own a summer rental house you need to be prepared to handle AC emergencies right away or have unhappy renters. Our house is close to the ocean and it is pretty tough to keep the outside unit in good shape. They have been called at least once every summer for some HVAC issue and have resolved it quickly. They are not the cheapest but the service is very good, which can be hard to come by on the OBX. They have installed a new outside unit for us and gave us several price choices, fortunately it did not fail during the middle of the season and they let us know when it was dying.
I would recommend Outer Banks Heating and Cooling to others looking for quality and service.
