National Nails

The customer service was lackluster. The esthetician was on the phone making personal calls the majority of the time (over an hour) while doing my wife’s nails. She didn’t respond to requests, nor did she inform us of the price difference of the acrylic UV gel. My wife was never told when her nails were dry and she sat at the heating lamps for 20 minutes. Another lady asked us how long we’ve been waiting and rung us up. The lady was also very rude towards my wife during the message by pointing or her insecurities. Never coming here again. Over charged and underwhelmed.

The rating is for the male owner only. I’m pretty certain that he is the only competent employee in the salon. His employee made a first run at giving me a manicure. He corrected it entirely for free.

For a first experience in Killeen, I was impressed. I love the nail techs because they are all very sweet & nice. They don’t make you feel awkward. I especially enjoyed my French tip session. They take their time & put a lot of care into the art of making your nails look as you wish & as amazing as you would want them to be. Pricing isn’t bad either. It’s actually average compared to a lot of places I’ve been to out of state. I will be a repeat customer here that’s for sure. For my entire session for my fingers & toes, it was $ 55. In Cali I paid $ 70 for a decent but not so great job. Oh & they provide other services like waxing, permanent make up, eyelash extensions & so on & so forth. It was worth the trip. I got a leg massage & it was nice to finally pamper myself. It’s a girl’s paradise I tell you. Now I know where to go when the hubby comes home. Gotta look fly for my guy you know?

Nice place clean and patient staff. They take their time and I didn’t feel rushed. I would recommend this place.

My nail tech listened to what I wanted and did a great job. I called ahead so I appreciated not having to wait long and he didn’t take long to do my nails either. That was a big plus in my book.

The only reason why this place gets three stars is because Sue Young does awesome pedicures. The pedicure I received was awesome! Best in town! Now, as for the clientele they unfortunately cater to, is unfortunate. Loud ghetto women came in their throughout my whole visit and were loud and just GHETTO, pregnant women were drinking wine, … Crazy. It really did ruin the relaxing experience, but of course they turn money down. Owners are nice, staff are nice too, place needs an upgrade, but they do their job well. I’ll go back for the pedicure any day, and they offer drinks :) Oh, and I got my nails done their recently, and I asked for them to put on the acrylic thin. It looks SO THICK! Not going here for acrylic nails again.

I normally go to CK nails (and they do a superb job), but they couldn’t get me in for an eyelash fill prior to my vacation. So, based on the reviews, I made an appointment here. DO NOT DO IT!
I got a pedicure as well, which was average. The girl was very friendly. No complaints about that part.
I have been getting my lashes done since 2011 and have never had a mess like this. She didn’t separate the lashes at all, so when the epoxy dried they moved as one big mass. It was actually quite painful. The matting caused me to lose eyelashes (my own as well as the extensions) in big chunks. I had to go into CK and get them soaked off! (Not a pleasant experience.) They have no idea what they are doing with lashes! HORRIBLE job, but friendly and clean. Still, DON’T DO IT!

Awesome pedis. Lots of different nail designs to choose from. Staff takes their time and they are super friendly. It took me a while to find a good nail salon in this area but this is now my place. :)

They did sooooooooo good we just got our nails done me my mom and my sister and they did so good! They were super nice! And they had cheap prices! Wow u guys were over the top!

This place chargest the cheapest for acrylic French tips nails. It’s $ 25 dollars and they do a really good job compared to the $ 35 they usually charge at other salons. I’ve been here a few times and it was all a pleasant experience.

I was not impressed at this salon. I came in for a Shellac/​Gel manicure. My nails are thin, that is why I use the gel. Well she filed my nails with a nail file that is meant for acrylic nails. She was tearing at them. I had to ask her a few times to refile them as well because they are crooked. I even had to file them myself when I got home. And I don’t know if she was trying to save on the polish because the coats are so thin that you can see thru the color. It hasn’t even been a week and the polish is chipping. Gel does not chip in the first week. Sign of a bad manicure job. And expensive, $ 37 for gel manicure.

I came here after reading the 5 star reviews.
On the outside, the store looked a bit sketchy, but took me by surprise when myself and my Mom walked in. Very neat and clean.
I got a simple Gel Polish change for both hands and feet. As I sat down, he had his computer out. I waited a good couple minutes before I became nosy and decided to see what was more interesting than a customer waiting to get her nails done. I curiously looked at his screen… he was playing a video game. oook. I was taken aback when he had me soak my hands in the acetone the entire time even after he had taken the polish off. His reason was the color was still not off. I showed him my hands and how he had successfully taken off all my polish and how my finger tips were extremely dry from the acetone. He grabbed my hands and put it back in the acetone. He said if I didn’t do that, I’d be here all day waiting for the rest to come off. Hmm. I have never had that done and told him I didn’t feel comfortable doing that. He was a bit «bossy» and kept turning my hands different ways which were uncomfortable for me, but obviously comfortable for him. After he did my hands, he told me to «do the UV light» 3x on each side and then he’d come back to do my feet after his cigarette break. He finally came back and did my feet. Afterward, he told me to «do the UV light 3x» again and he went back on his computer to play a game. He did do a good job. The color came out nice.
At the very end, my Mom asked how much it was and the lady who did my Mom’s nails and the guy who did mine were arguing over how much they needed to charge us. Apparently, the «boss» wasn’t in and they make all these new rules and constantly change prices without informing them. So at the end, we were charged $ 82 for a Mani/​Pedi and gel polish change for both hands and feet. I’m not sure if we’d come back.

My friend recommended this place, since i was tired of my normal place (tired of them having the same gel polish, felt like i tried every single one). They had a lot more Gel polish colors, which i was really happy about! The guy took his time and wasnt trying to rush me out. nice massage chairs, 20 $ pedicure! pretty large salon too. I really enjoyed this nail salon and would return.

This is by far the best nail salon I have ever been to. Right by a gym and department stores so you can get everything done at once without having to drive all over town.
The nail techs are so friendly and do an awesome job. The salon is super clean which is a huge plus. They had a check-​in deal on here a while ago and even though I was a returning customer and the deal had expired they put designs on my toes for free. Overall a great place and the only one I go to now.

to make an appointment so you don’t have to wait and get a pedicure while you’re there. They are AMAZING!
