Need a dress shirt for a night out on the town? Or perhaps you’re looking for the latest in «Duck Dynasty» apparel? Either way, Peebles has got you covered. When visiting the familia on Labor Day weekend, the wife realized that one of her shirts had a terrible stain and needed to be replaced. So off to Peebles we went. We shop at the one in Manassas on occasion and knew what to expect. A mixture of dressy attire with brands that you also find at JCP’s or Kohl’s (like Van Heusen or Chaps) mixed in with rednecky casual attire.
Our experience was different than the Manassas store in a couple of ways. My wife can almost always find something that she likes in the Manassas store — she couldn’t find anything here and just got a t-​shirt for emergency wear. On the other hand, when I bargain-​hunt at the Manassas store, I rarely find anything I like on the 50−70% clearance racks. But I guess them there fancy dancy clothes aren’t so popular on the NNK — I found several Chaps and VH dress shirts that I can wear to work for $ 15. This is stuff that you’ll typically pay $ 35 – 45 for at Kohl’s. (In fact, they had the EXACT shirt that I bought full price at Kohl’s, for $ 45, because I needed a shirt for a client meeting the next day.)
Peebles has got a very old school, «Heartland of America» vibe. But if you are on the NNK and need decent clothing in a pinch, and don’t want to shop at Wal-​Mart, this is your best bet.
