I went here over the weekend because it is convenient, close to home, and I was already in the mall that day. I went to look at prom dresses, and the store was pretty packed with other people doing the same thing. I ultimately found the dress I’d seen online and wanted, but they only had it in the wrong size. I asked a young woman if she could check for the dress in a different size and her response was, «Um, maybe,» before walking away quickly. I didn’t see her for the rest of my trip. While I was there, I also saw a salesperson try to sell a girl a dress with a rip on it and when the girl’s mother asked about it, she said not to worry about it(even though the dress was clearly damaged). There was also a line at least ten customers long in the front of the store, and several other employees were rude to customers while I was there, but since this is one of the only Sherri Hill authorized retailers in the Philadelphia/Main Line area it’s easy to understand how they still get business. I ended up trying on the too small dress and loved it, but after realizing how awful and rude the people were, decided to get it in the right size from another store. I advise others to do the same because of how rude and inattentive the employees at Formals XO were. The only reason I’m giving it two stars instead of one is because they did have 3 of the Sherri Hill dresses I was interested in, although none of them were in my size(I would have settled for 4, 6, or 8 but for the most part, they only had 00, 0, 2 and size 10+ in the dresses I liked). Also on a good note, Amanda, the woman who responds to emails, has always been extremely helpful and responds very quickly. She was the only person who seemed to genuinely care about customer satisfaction.

My best friend/bridesmaid and I went shopping today to get ideas for bridesmaids dresses for her to wear to my wedding. We ended picking out her dress and had a great time and experience doing so! Knowledgable and friendly staff made our trip even better! Can’t wait to go back for the other dresses for the other bridesmaids!

The store is a mess. The photos pictured here are not an actual depiction of the store. There are dresses scattered throughout the store and most are outdated. The customer service is horrendous, in that you have to help yourself and if you have a specific dress you are looking for, you have to find it yourself. When you ask the employees a question, they are rude. Make sure you take your own measurements before you get there. The staff member that measured my daughter did not measure correctly and we ended up with a dress 2 sizes too big for $ 500. I contacted company headquarters and their service is even worse, they never got back to me. Also, there are no refunds, even due to the fact that their staff is either improperly trained or just don’t want to be bothered. Go someplace else, this store is a waste of time and money!

We just experienced the most HORRIBLE time at this store. BETTY, the manager, HARASSED and ASSAULTED our daughter and her friend for no reason. They were trying gowns on in the dressing room that she let them into, and the woman walked in on them while they were half naked, even though she was told to stop and that they didn’t need her«help», and at one point physically tried to remove a dress that my daughter was taking off, while my daughter was naked and there were people standing around watching. THEREISSOMETHINGWRONGWITHBETTYANDTHERESTOFTHEEMPLOYEESATTHISSTOREANDWHYANYONEWOULDSHOPTHEREIS A MYSTERYTOUS. For an older woman to put her hands on a young and impressionable girl is sick, and shows that BETTY is a bully and has serious psychological problems. When we confronted her about the behavior, she tried to justify it and screamed at us as well. We are lawyers and know that we could take Betty to court, and the store, for the assault and harassment, and the only reason I’m not reporting this to the police is because I don’t want to put my daughter through that experience again– my daughter and her friend are upstanding young ladies, both going to an ivy league school this fall(which I only mention to show that they are serious studious girls, and were not there to do anything wrong… they just wanted a prom dress). Save yourself the sorrow and possible humiliation of your daughters and don’t shop here. This store deserves to close and it is an outrage that they are still doing business.
