server = 92HUA I went to the resturant and asked for a bottle of seltzer water to clean off coffee that had spilled on my wife’s blouse. The women behind the register came back with a cup of seltzer water that she charged me $ 2 for. After she waited on a guy who showed up while I was waiting for her to return with the water. She acted like I was not standing there.

Thanksgiving 2011– Waist of time! My husband & I from(MD) went here last year 2010 for Thanksgiving, the food & service was great and the price was I think $ 29. We also choose what to leave for a tip. This year 2011, they had some different items on the buffet and the salad bar shrunk, not much to select from. One of the meat carvers was eating shrimp. The price now $ 31 and a service charge of 20%, service was not that great. We had sat down for about 15mins and were given a bill(very tacky). The atmosphere & food quality was totally changed from last year. Rate a 5 out of 10&10 being Excellent. I have had BETTER food @ Golden Corral. The price of the buffet was NOT worth it! We will not be going back for the 3rd year.

Note: This review is for the Thanksgiving day buffet. On another food website, posters recommended the Thanksgiving day buffet here. However, no one ever specified the exact restaurant in the Dolce Valley Forge where the buffet was held. Just go to Dolce, we were told. So… we told our daughter, who works in KoP, about the buffet and told her to ask her co-workers what they knew about it. If they, too, liked it then she could go ahead and book our Thanksgiving meal there. It was all so very vague. Call the hotel front desk and get passed to the«restaurant» where the reservation got made. When we asked our daughter«which restaurant?», she said they didn’t say. Well… it took some sleuthing to find out that the buffet is held in Restaurant THREE01. Plus, it took another phone call to find out the cost per person.($ 31 each for over 12; $ 12.95 for age 5 to 12; and under 5, free). Once all that was straightened out, our party of 11(4 generations, with the youngest being 3 and the oldest 86) arrived early for our 5 p.m. reservation. We were warmly welcomed by the hostess and seated. So far, so good. Then the waiter showed up. Sad to say, he wasn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer. He asked for our drink orders which had to be repeated at least 3 times. Some ordered Pepsi(regular, not diet). One person asked for a martini with Beefeaters, which totally confused the waiter. When another person asked for a Belgian beer, I cringed and thought«uh oh!» Then for the three youngest kids, milk in cups with lids and straws — again, the waiter was befuddled. After he took the order, a bartender came out and asked about the martini and the Belgian beer. Those who ordered regular Pepsis, got diet ones — sigh! Not once but twice — even though they told the waiter«regular» yet again. Fortunately, a waitress also came by. She was sharp and efficient and straightened out everyone’s drink orders. Now for the buffet — There was a carving station which had ham and turkey breast. The meats were good — the turkey was tender and juicy plus the man at the carving station was very nice and friendly. There was a decent turkey gravy which the carver offered to put on your meat(or you could do it yourself). There was a salad bar with limited fixings — 2 types of lettuce mixes, cherry tomatoes and shredded carrots plus assorted dressings and pasta salad. The hot food section had apple and sage stuffing, which the consensus at our table was that the sage flavoring was too strong. Plus there were yams, cheddar mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, a sea bass entrée, one with chicken, one with beef and one with lamb. Desserts were apple, cherry, pumpkin, blueberry and coconut custard pies. Also, there was cheesecake and an assortment of cookies. We were put in a separate room at one large table. That worked out fine but I had a sinking feeling that the other table in this room wouldn’t be empty for long. Sadly, I was right. Another large party got put in there. When that happened, it was difficult not only for the customers but the servers to get around. The not too sharp waiter kept sighing everytime he came in the room at that point. Considering that the restaurant was half full, there was no need to pack people in like sardines. The food was decent but yet nothing to rave about. The not too sharp waiter did put somewhat of a damper on things. I wish we had the waitress who knew what she was doing tending to us for the entire meal. Still, I think that we all didn’t let any of this ruin our gathering. After all, we don’t get together as often as we would like. All that said, had the service been consistently good, I would have rated this restaurant higher.
