The new facility is nicer than the old one, except the bathrooms are still dirty. The place is still poorly managed and just because someone is good at gymnastics does not make them a good instructor. Their website is archaic.

Gymnastics intro class = excellent! my son had a lot of fun with a great instructor and lots of active exercises — but emphasis on form. Facility is great too.

I was very hopeful to introduce dance to my 3 year old at this studio. However, at the end of the second class the instructor, who clearly was overwhelmed by the children, asked me to remove my child and another child because they only participated for part of the class and sitting during the rest of the class at the instructors direction. I’m sure this studio is wonderful for more experienced dancers and gymnasts. But it is not geared to the preschool set.

Dearest Child has been a student at UMDGC since he was four years old, at the time when Little Gym was just not enough. Ready for«Big Gym», we heard about UMDGC from a friend. Through the many years since, we have always found this to be a very friendly, professional, well run gym. Dave Evasew and Michelle Elbin, the owners, are friendly, approachable, enthusiastic and receptive. The coaches have all been excellent, and our child has gained both confidence and skill under their instruction. What is nice is that if you have a child interested in dance and a child interested in gymnastics, they can both attend classes, often simultaneously, and there are multiple family member discounts. I can’t say about the dance program as dearest child has not taken any classes.
