I was pleasantly surprised that the library was located very close to me. However, it seems to be lacking with the audiovisual collection. If you check out any DVDs or CDs, there is a charge for it(old or new). I was pretty disappointed with this since most libraries let you borrow CDs for free. Plus, the DVD collection was not impressive with VHS tapes inter-mingled. Plus, the library is located inside the Upper Merion Township Building so space is a bit limited. Tucked away in the back is the Children’s Library. Still, this is perfectly located and you can always get things by ILL if the library doesn’t carry it. I would have to say that the staff at Upper Merion Township Library is extremely helpful and was willing to lend me a hand. I had the hardest time getting the Tredyffrin Township Library to let me put a donation box for«Cradles to Crayons” — toys/books for kids in front on their library. The library staff just sent me up the chain with more questions and I even put them in touch with the«Cradles to Crayons» director at the Conshohocken office. Finally, I got the reply of NO after jumping through all the hoops. With Upper Merion Township Library, their staff was more than accomodating for me and provided me with some boxes to carry toys/books into my car. Afterwards, the nice librarian even offered me help so that I could load my car. Also, there are seasonal things like the Farmer’s Market on the weekend which makes this location extra nice.
