I’m glad that I grew the balls to show up to meet up with a bunch of online people. I could not have imagine a nicer group of folks; everyone was really nice(read: normal) and had their own distinctive personalities as their reviews lead to believe. I think is great to put an actual person behind the words. I had a great time. Jim is Officially the man.

I already liked Rock Bottom, and have given it a positive review in the past. I can add one more positive experience and this one clinches it. A Burb event? On a Monday? Wasnt sure what to expect. One by one, Unilocalers trickled in, until we were at least 20 strong! Rock Bottom didnt know what hit them! The bartender was great even if he did share a passing resemblance to Aaron. The server managed to keep up with everyones tab despite the musical chairs we were playing. Good Food, Great Beer, SHOTS! and incredible company. Random thoughts about the evening… — Lee and Aaron must have used the mini copter seen in Mad Max, to have been able to arrive so quickly from the city. — Peoples perception of Aaron is as upside-down as his photo. His presence elevates any event. — Nachos(1) Dave H(0) — Jenna C is as loveable as her Unilocal persona. She is genuinely good people. Bringing Mason was a bonus. _At any event, Dave F becomes the minister of good times. He works the room like no other. He certainly«worked» the bathroom. — Caroline, Emily and I were momentarily ostricized for our childbirthing conversations. _As much as I love soft pretzles, Laura D is much better looking without one in front of her face(although I agree that I would have recognized her sooner if she had one.) — Michelle C is stunning. And a good sport. And went toe-to-toe with angry Aaron. Impressive! — For me, its not an event unless Tom C and Heather M show up. Talk about engaging people. — The Burger Assassin lived up to his name. — I definitely didnt give enough(or any) time to Will, Tony, Sidney, Kristine or Jeff. They are good people and I hope to get the chance to rectify that in future events. — Its impossible to moonwalk in rubber soled shoes(or socks!) — Even Chris Farley showed up, all the way from his van down by the river. — Chris V flinched every time someone mentioned the word«hot dog». And he managed to snag a smokin hot wife, in spite of his childhood trauma. This event will stay with me for a long time(in a good way). SO glad all these people came out. Thanks to all who made this a great night. Special thanks to Dave H for the photo ops and for lending his credibility. Looking forward to the next event in the Burbs… wherever it may be.

Rock Bottom Brewery on a Monday night? Score! Mile high fives to Jim H. for rallying a drunken crowd[1] on a Monday night[2]. We had to do a little creative seat arranging, but we managed to make it work — mingling got easier as the night went on. Everyone munched on assorted appetizers and entrees(a ragtag team helped me plow through a huge nacho plate) and helped to stimulate Rock Bottom Brewery’s economy. Thanks to David F. for not being too troublesome, and for the round of shots! Thanks to all who came out, you know who you are. P. S. Let me say that I’m happy that my favorite shots involve pineapple juice. [1] We don’t have to look far if we decide to assemble our own Alcoholics Anonymous chapter. [2] To those who had doubts on successful suburban events, I guess they hadn’t ever seen one of MY suburban events…

Good times. Biggest group I’ve ever seen at Rock Bottom. See, the burbs aren’t so bad… also doesn’t hurt that I work across the street basically. Had a great time meeting lots of people and hanging out for a while. Not long enough to see Dave H. finish his nachos, but I think I would’ve had to wait all week for that. Next time I’ll try to order some pretzels and hold them in front of my face for instant recognition. See everyone at future events!
