I purchased my eyeglasses at Visionworks because that is who my insurance carrier partners with. The staff was very courteous but I felt pressured to buy certain upgrades such as the Clearshield UV complete non-glare treatment. I would recommend NEVER getting this treatment. Within a week of picking up my first pair I noticed the corner of my lens had a mark. I thought it was dirt. After not being able to remove it I took the glasses back to Visionworks. The salesperson noticed right away that the Clearshield treatment was peeling. She put in a new order for me and I had to come back in a week. I thought that was great! But unfortunately that was only one of the problems. Since I purchased these almost a year ago I can never, never, never get them clean. There is always a constant smear on my lenses no matter what I use to clean them. They told me I had to use a certain cleaner(bought from them of course) but this has never worked. I tried soap and water, just water, lens wipes from the drugstore, etc and nothing will clean my glasses. Its too late to return the glasses but maybe they will reevaluate this treatment. Anyone else have a problem with the Clearshield? BTW I have been wearing glasses all of my life so I don’t need any advice on how to clean my lenses. Thanks :)

They have the least customer oriented staff. They obviously never keep accurate records because if you ever need a copy of your script, you’ll get a bunch of, «I can’t find you in the system…» Or, «I don’t see a script in here for you». All of this nonsense after you’ve paid money for glasses or contacts! I would never visit this place again.

It’s a shame they apparently never put half my order in their system because otherwise they would’ve gotten five stars from me. I live in Lansdale and made a special trip to the mall to pick out my new glasses as there are so many options there. I started at Vision Works, the woman was helpful, and I found a set of frames I liked that, with insurance, were under $ 200 with upgraded frames. Considering they were Michael Kors I was really pleased. Then I asked to get new Rx sunglass lenses. I was measured and told those new lenses and my eye glasses would be ready in ten days. I got a call yesterday my order was ready. I sent someone else to pick them up but they returned with only my eyeglasses. Confused I called today about my new sunglass lenses: not in the system, not on the receipt(I double-checked today), and no one knew anything about them. I asked that the clerk who helped me call me tonight with an explanation, but I have a feeling they’ll want to charge me(since apparently they never did the first time), it’ll be more since it’s past the sale and would no longer count as my second set of glasses, and I’d have to come back in and get re-measured. I wanted to have these before I go on vacation next week so off to Lens Crafters I go I guess. I really just don’t have time for this and considering they make you wait more than the usual 1 – 2 days max that places like Lens Crafters can get it done for you it’s just not worth it. They’re really cheap but clearly what you trade off on is the service which in this case was most important and most lacking.
