Bose Retail Store

Be careful in this store and all Bose stores. Bose is best at one thing and that is marketing. It is well known within the audiophile community that you can find WAY better than Bose for ALOT cheaper. Save your money folks.
Bose uses an ingenious «perception of value» tactic to lure people in and get your dollar. They sell this pipe dream that Bose sound systems are the absolute luxury setup for people who deserve the best and guess who deserves the best? Why, YOU of course! Your life will be complete once you own a Bose system, right?
To back this up, you are treated to a nice little film in a room that is specifically designed for audio. Noone has a room like this in their house unless they are very rich, a room that is actually DESIGNED to make the best use of Bose speakers.
The truth is, you could probably find many «Home Theater In a Box» systems from Yamaha or Onkyo that would sound better in that room.
Hey folks, you don’t have to be rich in order to have high quality sound systems in your house. Companies like Polk Audio and Boston Acoustics will give you far superior sound and small speakers at a fraction of the price. It can be hard to find specs for Bose’s speakers on their boxes and this is because their specs are nothing to brag about at such an inflated price point. Does it sound good? Yeah it does, but the price is WAY high for what you get.
Also keep in mind that Bose uses proprietary wiring for their bundle systems. This means that if a wire breaks or goes bad, guess where the only place is that you can get a new one? Bose store of course! And at a premium!
I do like the Quiet Comfort series of headphones that Bose offers, they aren’t too bad.

My first generation Quiet Comfort 2 headphones are cracked. I enquired about getting them fixed and my sales rep Albert told me that if it was the champagne colored headphones then Bose would replace them with a new pair!
I was totally impressed and wowed! I could even upgrade my damaged pair with the latest QC3’s which are just over the ear opening vs completely over the ear, for the difference of 50! Cool!
