Nice little restaurant. The food was good, as was the service. Would recommend to others for a quick lunch.

I love reading reviews. Many times they crack me up. Especially when I’ve already been there and can compare what’s written to what I experienced. Had we not seen the star rating(and a niece’s encouragement who’d eaten here before), we might have slunk out when we walked in! First of all, let’s talk about the ambiance. Someone mentioned its lack. It’s true! When you walk in the door, you will wonder if you’ve meandered into a cafeteria on a tiny college somewhere in Wisconsin! But just like Wisconsin, you will be greeted in the most friendly fashion! Don’t let the red-checkered, plastic tablecloths deter you! Ignore the open floor plan where you are privy to the soda machines(that the waitress will happily use to refill your drinks), the comings and goings of the wait staff and the occasion appearance of the cooking crew from a corner door! Just stop and sniff. Oh yes! That right there is the sweet, sweet smell of garlic! And all manner of deliciousness that is about to grace your humble little table! Here’s another warning. The salads aren’t anything to write home about. Generic lettuce with a couple slices of Roma tomatoes, cucumbers and non-descript croutons along with okay salad dressing. I wouldn’t recommend making a meal of it. My sister did, but supplemented with bites from others’ dishes here and there. We did order some of the fried zucchini and it set the tone for the rest of the food! It was lightly breaded — not soggy — and the zucchini was perfectly cooked! Not wilted or over cooked, not crispy and undercooked! As Goldilocks would say, «Juuuuuuuust right!» But wait! There’s more! The real treat comes when they bring the main dishes to the table! Upon my niece’s recommendation I added fresh spinach to my Chef’s Favorite at the end of cooking. It really was one of the prettiest dishes I’ve had set in front of me at an eating establishment! Feast for the eyes! The Chef’s Favorite is made with bowtie pasta with all sorts of veggies finished with Parmesan cheese. You can add chicken or shrimp; being veg I didn’t. In any other Italian restaurant there would be a preponderance of pasta and only accents of veggies. This dish had plenty of pasta bits, but oodles and oodles of cooked onions, mushrooms, red peppers and whole garlic cloves(true to its name)! I like a little sauce so ordered the garlic cream sauce on the side to supplement. I’m glad I did as it added a little flavor. The sauce is basically their cream/alfredo sauce mixed to their chunky marinara, but unlike many places it is more marinara than cream. I like it that way, but if you don’t just be aware. My niece ordered the Messina which is basically the same dish as mine except oozing with cheese(ricotta, cream cheese and covered in the cream sauce). I tasted it and was, in the exact same moment, very thankful(hello, calories) and very sad(good bye taste) that I hadn’t chosen that dish! The niece on my other side ordered the white lasagna, a special, and also vegetarian. My taste buds exploded when I tasted that dish too! Let’s recap: ambiance, nope. Amazing salads, nope! Best recommendations? Bring a group of your best friends or family, assuming they make you happy, and enjoy some of the best Italian food you’ll ever have the pleasure of sampling!

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in town. The food is simply awesome. I’ve tried to get something different every time I’ve went, and everything has been phenomenal so far. I also completely love the staff! Jessica is my FAVORITE server ever!

Food was ok. Pizza sauce is way too sweet. Who puts a cup of sugar in tomato sauce? Pasta was better, however avoid Alfredo unless you you really like the type of sauce you get in a jar. They serve bread with cold marinara sauce. Server was very nice. Portions are quite huge.

We like to eat here when we come through town for the holidays! Staff is very friendly, and helpful. I am always asking for something special, no cheese or something different and this place always gets it right! Great food! Great service… Will be back…

This was my first visit. The Garlic Clove was very clean, but needed carpeting to distinguish it from a fast food establishment. The inside noise was bouncing off the walls. There was not a warm feeling inside. The food was pretty good and priced right. The service was excellent. Just need to improve the ambiance.

Excellent service, tasty food and their lunch portion is gigantic! We had the bruschetta. It was a great appetizer for 2 – 4 people. The bread was perfectly toasted, the diced tomatoes were fresh with enough salt and flavor. We also ordered the spinach ravioli with meat sauce and baked seafood pasta dish. I have to say I favored the ravioli more. The meat sauce have the right amount of sweetness and not overly salty like other meat sauces I’ve tried. The spinach ravioli was so creamy but not overwhelming that you can actually finish the whole plate! Best part was that they topped it with melted mozzarella, yummmm… Each dish either comes with bread with(cold) marinara sauce or a salad(it depends what you ordered) I was a happy camper and so was my stomach I will definitely come back again.

We loved this place! We ordered Veal Parmesan and Stuffed Salmon. It came with a side salad and bread. The bread was true to the restaurant name and had a very garlicky flavor. There was a great tomato sauce to dip it in. We also each ordered a beer and they had a great selection ranging in price from $ 2-$ 3. There was also a great selection of California wines. The servers were all very friendly, worked together, and one even noted how much she loved her job. This just added to the positive atmosphere.

Very rarely does a place impress me so thoroughly on the first visit. Craving pasta, my wife and I wandered off the beaten path to check out the Garlic Clove. It’s a short jaunt off I-40, but assuredly worth the time and effort. From the outside, the building is humble and unassuming on the Historic Route 66 downtown area. We actually arrived less than an hour after the place had opened, and there was not a single diner. We were still greeted promptly by a friendly waitress and our drink orders taken immediately. The interior was decorated a bit like how you might imagine an Italian deli with checkered tablecloths, and it was IMMACULATE. I ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce and meat balls, and my wife had cheese ravioli with garlic sauce. I have to admit it took a little longer to get our food as the cook initially prepared the ravioli with regular sauce instead of the garlic sauce, but the waitress caught it before it came to our table and corrected the issue. Despite the short delay, our food still arrived hot and fresh-tasting. My wife was very pleased with her choice, and so was I. The meatballs were tender and delicious, the sauce very good, and the noodles cooked well. They accommodated my request for extra sauce free of charge or hassle. It was about this time the place really started get packed. Pretty soon there were only a couple empty tables left, and the joint was bustling. Still, our waitress was right on top of things and never missed our drink refills, checking on us frequently. She happily sent us out the door with free refills to go and plenty of leftovers, which we enjoyed that evening at our hotel in Ely, Nevada. We would definitely stop here again.

Not for vegetarians. This place got great reviews here, so I stopped on my way through town. There were only a couple of things on the menu for vegetarians. I asked the server vegetarian recommendation and she recommended a salad with meat. I ended up ordering a couple of appetizers, the bread sticks with cheese and the fried zucchini. The bread sticks were manufactured, not home made, barely browned in spots and had a sloppy topping of grated mozzarella cheese and came with a side of marinara that tasted like it came straight from a jar. The fried zucchini came in spears with some heavy, flavorless batter. I took one bite and it was so greasy I set it aside. Obviously frier temperatures are not a special skill here. When the waitress came by I told her I would not be eating it. She apologized by didn’t take it off the bill. I did have a bottle of beer which was good, but the meal(such as it was) with a tip was 19 bucks and a total rip off. Very disappointing experience.

We stopped here on the way back from Grand canyon — awesome experience! The food is amazing and service equally good. The waitress was very friendly and explained things patiently. The food portions are huge and when the food is so good, you tend to clean up the plate. We ordered the eggplant parmesan, chefs favorite pasta and a few more dishes. Everything was yummy. Finished off with a crème brulé — still licking my lips. If you are passing by Kingman and are hungry — perfect option!

Great pizza! We got half pesto and half red sauce with sausage. Also got a calzone to go. Not only did they upgrade our salad at no extra charge, they were super friendly and helpful to us out-of-towners with directions and recommendations when we were stuck. Awesome service. Thanks to Amanda and the guy, I think his name is David.

Found the Garlic Clove on Unilocal and decided to check it out. I was somewhat skeptical when we pulled up, but was later very pleased. They made me a vegan pizza that was absolutely phenomenal! Full of flavor and very fresh ingredients. My husband got a vegan version of the Chef’s Favorite, and it was a better than my pizza! I realize that they’re not located next to the interstate, but folks, it’s well worth your time to drive a little out of the way for some great food, fast & friendly service and clean restrooms!
