Spent $ 139 for two adults and two children. Compared the cost they don’t meet the quality at all. quality and amount is below the average. People are nice but not well trained

Amazingly found a Japanese restaurant in Tahoe with a Japanese chef and even have a certificate as a sushi chef. Sushi here is very traditional. Love it! The only thing is that we came super hungry and was not expecting the price tag so high to fill up our stomach. Otherwise, every items taste great.

Worst service I have EVER experienced. Great sushi, but only go if you appreciate awful service and incompetent employees.

We’re visiting from the Bay area so it’s our first time to visit this place. I ordered to go sashimi and other items for take out. The sashimi dinner which cost $ 29.99 was very small serving and the fish are not fresh. No soy sauce, chopsticks or napkins that were packed in our to go bags!!! So how can you eat the sashimi and sushi! We ended up throwing the sashimi and sushi since it does not taste good to begin with, worst no soy sauce to dip it! Do not go to this restaurant! It’s a waste of money & time!

Super long wait, they got our order mixed up as well as other tables. Was not a good experience at all!

Short: Eh man the rolls were tiny, the fish wasn’t the best quality. I had some concerns with cleanliness. This place left me feeling unsatisfied and sad that I spent $ 30. I didn’t feel like I was actually eating sushi at a Japanese restaurant. One thing a sushi place should be is clean, orderly, and efficient. I didn’t get that feeling here. Structure! And Why no paper sushi menus? MVP: Nuclear roll is good if you like spicy sushi, it included Serrano peppers inside and it had a nice sesame taste and is topped with roasted Chili’s. I loved this roll… Long: I’ll toss this place a bone maybe the owner should try to improve food quality rather then cut costs. I got the feeling this place was really about the bottom line. Let’s give people the smallest amount of rice, nori, fish for their buck… Really? :/I’m sure this place could be great with some little changes. I couldn’t shake this feeling of sloppiness as the sushi was being made either. The chefs were nice enough but the way the sushi was handed out also kind of put me off, just place the plate down and let me grab it instead of hovering it in my face grunting something and looking down at the cutting board. Though that was not possible though because the chef would roll sushi using the mats then place them on top of the counter/freezer(that can’t be sanitary). Some fish in the sushi bar freezer didn’t look so good either. I feel that the fish should be stored at a lower temperature it did not look or feel cold at all. I also think that the chefs should cut fish, roll sushi, cut vegetables, and cut fruit in a more orderly way. I watched as a chef cut some fish, made a roll and handed it out. Then did one pass with a moist rag and started cutting up our oranges in the same exact spot on the same cutting board probably using the same knife. :(What’s with the rag? Anyways I was drinking some hot tea when I noticed a stinking fish stench, I was puzzled until I realized the smell was coming from the outside of my cup. The guy who brought my tea must have just been handling raw fish before handing it to me. I had to wash my hands again after that. That was off-putting. I admit we did come during peak hours so it was busy but maybe some preparation should be done especially for peak hours so that things don’t get so backed up. It shouldn’t be a surprise that Friday night is going to be busy. Again, One thing a sushi place should be is clean, orderly, and efficient. I didn’t get that feeling here. I got the all you can eat special and the time it took to get the next roll almost left me feeling hungrier because so much time had passed. Now back to the idea of the bottom line maybe providing normal sized rolls will help the back up that the sushi chefs are dealing with, but when they hand me 4 pieces of sushi every 10 minutes it’s just not gonna work out. People want to be satiated, jeez I mean you could fill me full of the cheapest fish as long as its done right and I’d be happy! But no they’re to preoccupied with giving me the bare minimum everytime. There’s got to be some innovative solutions here guys. think about it maybe complimentary soup with AYCE special to fill me up I’m hungry here! It doesnt make a difference to me if you fill me up with soup and water and then a little good sushi! Here’s an acronym KISS(Keep it simple stupid) Keep it simple and do it right guys. That’s how you make a customer happy, but not like this. So spicy tuna is one thing I use to gauge a sushi restaurant and man was it sad, I’ve never had spicy tuna so pink and creamy and in such small quantities :(. If you’re so worried about costs find ways to fill me full of cheap crap, soup, water, refills, salad, something please all these things can contribute to making a person feel satiated then give me a little good sushi and I’ll gladly pay what you want. This place needs to reevaluate itself and really nail the fundamentals if they want to survive. Anyways atleast the chefs would examine the cuts of fish before using them and cut out undesirable parts. I’m surprised I didn’t get sick. Come on now there’s got to be some solutions to this places problems. Shiz man give tables pitchers of water, they want ginger give me ginger, what’s so hard in giving customer some sauce please? How come I constantly felt like things were being held back. Work smarter not harder. Key Words: 1. Fundamentals 2. Organization 3. Cleanliness/Professional Appearance 4. Service 5. Preparation Misc: I guess I should just stick to sushi back in LA.

Let’s start. When you walk in your greeted fairly well. If you want all you can eat(29.99) you HAVE to be seated at the bar. Once you are seated at the bar you are only allowed to order ONE item at a time. You have to ask the waiter whenever u want a refill on any drink or else they will just walk by you. The sushi chefs are pretty slow at making the sushi, I’ve been to many sushi places and noticed how slow they were. It’s almost like they could care less. Overall the quality for the sushi, the customer service, and the overall price(with them adding 18 percent in your check for tip) is definitely not worth it. Make the drive and go somewhere else, you will leave upset.

Bad experience! My husband and I went last year and it was good so we decided to go again this year. The rolls were small, dry, and left a bad fishy aftertaste. I think we could have purchased better tasting rolls from the grocery store.

This place is slowly sinking into the mire. Slow service, overpriced food. Had to ask repeatedly for basics: a fork, some water…

Had to move tables because of rules: had to sit at bar for all you can eat 20 minutes later even though the table we were at was 20 feet from sushi bar. Next time will spend extra time going to sushi pier.

Did not try the sushi. Instead had chicken teriyaki bento boxes, grilled squid salad and a scallop roll, edamame and miso. The chicken teriyaki was pretty disappointing– unseasoned grilled chicken breast coated with teriyaki sauce — it was very bland. The bright spot In the bento box was the salad which was fresh mixed greens and a palate popping citrusy ginger dressing. Squid was tender and nicely charred. Service was very slow. All in all I will probably not return here.

This used to be our favorite. The last 2 times we have been her the service was the worst I have ever seen. The staff obviously does not want to work their. The sushi is ok but to get it you need to beg. Hopefully the owner will read some reviews and change his wait staff. Tips are left for service. If you dont get a tip you should wonder why.

All you can eat sushi at the sushi bar is a pretty good deal, but the overall quality of the sushi is lacking. The rice is hard, the fish is B quality and the types of rolls they offer are very Americanized. When we went, we were served quickly and frequently for the first 20 minutes, then not again for another 25, making the all you can eat aspect of the meal more difficult to do. My friends like this place a lot so I’ll keep coming here, but if you want real sushi I suggest you try somewhere else.

Hiroshi is one of the nicest guys ever, he treats all of his guests amazing. Every time I go in, it is like a special treat. Definitely recommend heading in. AYCE at the sushi bar only, starts at 5 so get there before they get busy. They run a happy hour Mon-fri as well. You will not be disappointed! Some of my favorites are the #2(albacore roll with a shimp mousse on top) and the captain crunch. They also make their own spicy sauce, heat with smokiness… it’s the best! Enjoy! Ooh! And don’t forget to try the mussels!

Just okay. Service was great but we were the only one’s there. Sushi was okay, the udon was tasteless. Very poor food. May be they should get a Japanese chef instead of a local Hispanic. Though that said, Crystal Fish in Monterey has a Mexican sushi chef and its the best I’ve ever had outside Hawaii.

My daughter and I love coming here for our«date» nights. The staff is very friendly and take the time to make my daughter her special chicken terriyaki roll(she is a super picky eater) Keep up the good work!

Came here with high hopes because our friend highly recommended it but instead we were highly disappointed. They get one star for the sashimi which was decent and fresh. But if I could give negative 5 stars for service, I would! There were 8 of us and it took a FULL2.5 hours to receive all of our food including up to the last 10 minutes of the restaurant closing. The waitress even admitted SEVERAL times she«forgot» our order when everything was written down on the order sheet which we just simply marked what quantity next to which item. I know they were understaffed but the waitress wasn’t friendly either. If you mess up, at least be nice to make up for keeping your tip but nope. Then there was a gentleman who never came by to refill our water cups, yet refilled all the neighboring tables. He only came by to try to clear our table as promptly as possible when many people were STILL missing their rolls. Will definitely never be returning here nor would I recommend it. Unless you want to be treated like crap, then by all means this is the best place! As another Unilocaler stated, you’re definitely better off getting sushi at Safeway down the street. They had the worst service I’ve ever experienced in my life.

Yeah felt pressured by the waiter to make purchases. Rice was extremely dry. Safeway sushi might be better.

Went there on a Sat night without reservation, was seated right away. We took a la carte option, not the all-you-can-eat. Fast service, fresh fish, creative rolls. Great sushi experience. We didn’t try any chicken or bento options there, which were mentioned in poor reviews. Came for sushi and loved it.

The sushi is good, but nothing special. 1 maki roll actually includes 4 small pieces for about $ 10. Tiny portion of sea weed salad is $ 6. Would not recommend.
