Got to say very pleasing experience! All foods very very good. Fried chicken was awesome as was brisket and prime rib. Even though very busy just a short wait a couple minutes. Waitress couldn’t have been better or more friendly. Awesome

Used to be one of the better BBQ places around. Last time we went the so-called pulled pork was chopped fine and saturated with some sort of red light sauce in an attempt to make it taste like smoked meat. We won’t be going back since they’ve abandoned their history of making real pork BBQ.

Very good the best fried okra any where. The brisket is out the worls. Pork awesome. Love the atmosphere. The tea is great. And service is fast. One of my favorite places to eat in kingsport. Love the variety of sauces too. Prices great.

Well known in this area, this is one of the best barbecue places around. The beef brisket is incredible — so good that it doesn’t need sauce. The banana pudding is worthwhile too, although I have had better. And you certainly can’t miss the giant wooden Indian out front!

I couldn’t believe they cooked my steak for 12 to 15 hours. Pulled pork and smoked turkey also delicious. Lots of fun trying all the different BBQ sauces.

From the moment we stepped out of our car and smelled that bbq we knew we had picked a good place. So many good things to choose from. I recommend the brisket and smoked chicken. Tiffany was our server and she was so sweet to us. Hoping to make it back one more time before the convention is over!

Stopped by for the breakfast buffet. There were a good number of options and everything was a good temperature. The highlights for me were the kielbasa, fluffy biscuits, and omelet station. We got a table quickly and were able to go right up to the buffet to eat.

TrIed to go to Pratt’s on Tuesday night about 7. The sign said please wait to be seated. They didn’t seem busy. I waited and waited and left. I did take a to-go menu and I will try to return and hope my opinion changes.

I was craving good bbq so the lady at the front desk of my hotel recommended to come here to eat. It was a great choice. I had the Mac and cheese, coleslaw, and pulled pork. It was definitely good. The pork didn’t need any sauce but I like sauce. So I tried them all. Not sure which I like the best. But the food and service was great.

Pratt’s just catered my brother’s wedding and it was INCREDIBLE! The staff were so professional, warm, and on top of everything. The food was delicious! People couldn’t control themselves going back for more. It was all beautifully displayed and I would highly recommend it to anyone! I wish we lived closer as I will be dreaming of the pulled pork, pickles, coleslaw, sauces, sweet tea, etc… Do u ship to California ;) We will be back when we visit!

There are many reasons I love this place. First, they catered our wedding and did a great job. By the way, they offer much more than just the restaurant menu when it comes to catering. Second, the food is delicious. I love their bbq. My wife loves their meatloaf. Plus, my daughter will tell anyone with ears the fried pickles are incredible, which they are. Third, which is what inspired me to write this review, when you can come into a restaurant that closes at 9:30 and it’s already 8:50, and the staff are still happy to see you, that says something. No one rushed us in the least. If anything, they made us feel extra welcome. That kind of attitude is a rare and wonderful thing and that’s what will keep us coming back for more!

Pratt’s has great BBQ. We went there for lunch the other day and had the buffet. It was great! Never knew they had a buffet, but that’s because it’s only at lunch and we’ve always come at dinner time. Good food. Good service. Fair prices. Be sure to get one of their honey-glazed hams for the holidays! Delicious!!!

I just moved here from Kansas City where BBQ is king. Finding a good BBQ restaurant was something we knew we may not find here in east Tennessee. We went to Pratt’s last week for the first time and it was AWESOME, so we went again tonight to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We have found our BBQ! We tend to get different things and share so we get to try it all. We’ve had the ham, pulled pork, and the brisket. The ham was like my grandma had made it and the pulled pork and brisket beats any of the pulled pork I had in KC(Oklahoma Joe’s, yeah, I said it, evidently Obama had never had Pratt’s when he named OKJ the best BBQ in the nation). All of the sides were amazing. The wait staff is so nice. Everyone was polite and we were waited on in a decent time and our food came out in a timely manner. We’ve taken our one year old son with us both times and the girls that work there just love him. I seriously can’t understand where the low reviews are coming from. They don’t even have a sweet potato or hot dogs on the menu. Don’t pass on Pratt’s it was clean, friendly, and great tasting BBQ!

They don’t look at me weird when I order pounds of meat off the to go menu then eat them in-house. This is a big plus. Thank you for reading.

I haven’t eaten @ Pratt’s since I was a child and I really could not remember anything about it. I ate there this afternoon for lunch and as soon as I put the beans and bbq pork in my mouth, I INSTANTLY went back to my childhood. I have NVR in my life been 100% satisfied @ ANY restaurant ever! Hands down, the best Restaurant in town! I say that as a former Chef, and I would say that I’m very hard to impress with any Restaurant period. Absolutely Best Bbq in America By far!

Pratt’s is among one of my Dad’s favorite restaurants. So, what better thing to do than drive a hour out of our way to get this Kingsport classic? Upon arrival I quickly realized this had been the wrong approach to the question. We were greeted and seated with friendly faces and warm smiles. Drink orders were given and menus passed out. Once the menus were actually cracked open however, the smiles began to fade. Their menu had changed! For someone like myself I was fine with the new adventure. My Dad was a different story. It seems they had discontinued some of their local favorites. My Dad being heart broken over his beloved fried mushrooms no longer being available. While they are delicious, I do feel like the south’s love of battered and deep fried foods has went to the extreme and this might just be Pratt’s way of helping us dry out. My Dad didn’t quite see it that way. The fried mushrooms’(which I’m pretty sure he would leave my mother for) absents was like a slap in his face that continually ruined the rest of his meal. As for my order, I went with the new pulled smoked turkey. Well, what I thought was turkey turned out to be the equivalent of a salt mine wrapped in meaty package. It was unbearably salty but nothing a little BBQ sauce couldn’t fix, right? Wrong again! The BBQ sauce seems to have went down hill. I’m not sure if they had changed some of their sauce recipes or if they just got a bad batch of all six. The worst of the six was what is normally my favorite: «Tennessee Whiskey». It tasted like straight whiskey on the smoked turkey rocks. All in all the service was great. The new menu not so much. But, at least I can say I left all sauced up without even being carded!

I was in town for a client, and I decided to try Pratt’s when I saw it on Where Locals Eat and saw the sign that tempted my southern soul: All You Can Eat Fried Catfish. The place itself is really cute, and my waitress was equally so. And sweet too. She was attentive, helped process my order quickly so I could get to the airport, and offered to give me soda to go. But the catfish was absolutely amazing, along with the fried okra and«greens.» Everything I had was some of the best this southern boy has experienced, and particularly at a restaurant. And all for $ 11.99. I especially was a big fan of the thick batter that they used on the fish and okra. I took a pork sandwich home with me to NYC, and I enjoyed it today. I’m quite picky on bar bq, but I prefer Middle Tennessee hickory smoked style. This was pretty good, but not my favorite. All in all, a great Tennessee experience.

Pratt’s is a hometown favorite! Love the atmosphere and the entire staff! Love to go for lunch and split the BBQ nachos with friends. Sunday Buffet after church is great too with lots of selections and good eats. I definitely recommend for catering as well! They did an excellent job catering our wedding. Our guests were very complimentary of the food and the setup was beautiful! Definitely must try if visiting Kingsport!

**This review is specifically as Pratt’s as a caterer** Pratt’s catered my wedding 2 weeks ago. This was really the only part of my wedding that went well. And let me tell you, that does not even begin to cover it. Everyone at Pratt’s was super helpful and nice. Karen, the catering coordinator made the process go very smoothly. She was very understanding when things changed again and again and again, as well as with my disorganized craziness. On the day of, they did a gorgeous spread, of which I will hopefully get photos uploaded. The decorations were beautiful and the food was delicious. Everyone commented on how great the food was(the bacon-wrapped scallops and the roast beef au jus were incredible!) I can’t begin to thank them for everything they did to make our wedding amazing!
