I love its puff so much~ coffee is so so, omlette, umh~ not very tasteful, but very healthy. Anyway, it’s still one of my favorites of this town.

Service is extremely slooooow. We ordered basic premade bakery food(bagels, rolls, and a quiche) and it took over 40 minutes to get our meal. We had coffee refilled 3x before the food came out. I also ordered the filled french toast and it was overly saturated with sweet cream cheese making it unedible. I couldn’t eat it. The waitress was nowhere to be found during our meal. The tables that arrived after us were served whole meals before us(bacon and omelets). When the waitress finally appeared I mentioned the French Toast was too sweet and I could not eat it. She asked if I wanted it to go. I said no its too sweet and I cannot eat it. She said that’s how it’s made and maybe I shouldn’t order it next time. I ended up asking for the manager. She took it off the bill and apologized. I would not recommend or return.

As soon as I spotted the Mini Poop Pile Cupcake, I knew I had to have it. It was a moist chocolate cupcake with raspberry filling and milk chocolate frosting. Looks can be deceiving, it was delicious!

Never disappointed. Try their Mediterranean pinini, and of course their baked goods are the best in the region.

Great deals. Quiche for $ 4, awesome baked goods. Most meals can be combined with soup or salad. Basically standard diner but with a little extra added to the repertoir. 4 stars seems generous, but 3 not enough.

Deising’s is mostly known for its bakery, which is fine. The restaurant is another matter. I have eaten lunch there a couple of times, and the meals were not noteworthy. Several months ago I met an out-of-state friend there for breakfast, and I was surprised that my breakfast wrap was sitting in water in its dish. But today’s experience, with the same out of town friend, requires a write up. The service was AWFUL. We waited for our food for almost 40 minutes. The waitress never checked with us and did not offer any refill of our coffee. I had to flag down someone else for that. This other person failed to bring cream for the second cup of coffee. When our waitress came to give us our check, she added an extra item to our bill. I could not get her or anyone else’s attention by waving, so I had to go and find her and tell her there was an error on our bill. She acknowledged the error and brought a corrected copy. With all the choices of restaurants in Kingston, we will not come back.

Home of the shrinking cake and inflating cost. If seven layer cake gets any smaller it will need to be placed in the cupcake section.

NOT a cool place. Took our disabled cousin there for breakfast late one Saturday morning. He traveled a great distance and we wanted breakfast. They told us we had to wait for a table. We did — 45 minutes. Once seated they told us breakfast was no longer being served. Can anyone say diner??? I suggest Stadium Diner right around the corner where the service is prompt, friendly and 24 hours!

If you are looking for winter comfort food like I am, Deising’s will fit the bill. Wedding soup was hearty with a very«home made» taste. Absolutely the best hot pastrami sandwich I have had in 10 years! Baked goods looked so good, I had to take some home! Apple cranberry strudel– Delicious!

We love this place, and go there every time we are in town! Phyllis and Joan in particular are so welcoming and wonderful, but everyone is just so, so nice. And the breakfasts are great as well! Our kids are addicted to the cupcakes. :)

Tried to have breakfast there last week, like I said tried. I was seated and given a menu than sat for ten minutes before the bus persons, not waitress asked if I wanted coffee. Another ten minutes passed while two waitress chatted nearby. Mind you not busy at all. I tried to flag /wave to one of the waitress and was ignored after she looked at me. Waited five more minutes and got up and went to Hostess and said I had been waiting 25 min and no service… She said OK and nothing else so I left. It was not a flute as the last time we went it took 30 minutes on a slow weekday to breakfast served. never again.

We went here for lunch and had a terrible waiter. He didn’t bring things that were supposed to be included in meals. He also neglected to notice we needed drink refills, and just disappeared for long stretches of time. Lunch took two hours as a result. The food: Okay, with the exception of bakery products, which were amazing. Next time I’ll get a bagel at the bakery and call it good.

This bakery is seriously awesome and the prices are great. I haven’t had a chance to eat in the restaurant yet, but I have tried many of their cookies and they were all great! For Thanksgiving, I bought little pastries in the shape of turkeys with fondant and icing. I wasn’t expecting much because I’m used to creative pastries like that being too sweet and really just a novelty, but they were excellent, and this place always has a lot of really artistic and skillfully done themed cakes for holidays, etc. I grew up in NYC and recently moved somewhat local to this bakery and this quality would be much more expensive in the city. Another thing I really like about this place is the wide selection of German cookies, cakes, etc. I’m not sure what the other reviews are talking about when they mention long waits and rude service. I’ve never had a problem. Highly recommended!

Service is very slow . Otherwise everything else is good. Its a diner /bakery and I’ve never had a problem with the food, but please either add more staff or train the staff. Its very frustrating to order 2 scrambled eggs, home fries and toast and have to wait over 30 minutes. It makes me not want to return.

I am so incredibly disappointed to have to write this review. We got our wedding cake from this bakery and when we went in for the tasting, everything was absolutely amazing(which is why we went with them). The service was great, the samples were great, and the problem became narrowing down the things we liked into a single cake, rather than finding things that appealed to us. Unfortunately, the cake order was wrong; they put incorrect fillings in two of three layers. I know it sucks that they only get one shot at perfection, but that’s the nature of the wedding cake business, and they blew it. Further, the roses – the only detail we wanted, mind you – were supposed to be burgundy, which apparently to someone’s mind meant«really dark brown” – which I wouldn’t mind, except that the concentration of dye that was used left them downright bitter-tasting. Plus, seriously, explain this to me: If a third party(in this case, the bride’s mother) is handling the cake, has done all the communication with the restaurant throughout the process, has put down her deposit and already scheduled an appointment to come in on the afternoon of the Monday before the wedding to approve the final plans and pay the bill, what on earth would possess someone to call the bride at 8am that Monday and leave a voicemail saying only, «A payment in the amount of [considerable] is still due. Please call» instead of doing literally ANYTHING else?

Oh my goodness — Deising’s! I had heard about this place for years before I ever got to try it — and it was worth the wait. If I am in Kingston, and they’re open-this is where I’ll be. The pastries are fantastic and the breakfast servings are immense. Service has always been spot on, and you can tell its a neighborhood staple.

Dining areas extend pretty much everywhere. Food is solid, diner type breakfast and(I believe) lunch. Reasonable prices. The pancakes are the size of dinner plates, I should’ve ordered one! So then we decided we HAD to get some pastries, since we were there! I feel like those prices were reasonable too– a 5 pack of their cider donuts(so delicious!) and a loaf of pumpernickel bread for a little over $ 5! I really liked what a tight ship they run — lots of waitresses, no empty coffee cups or water glasses. Lots of ladies behind the counter to wrap up your breads and goodies. Did I mention that they were collecting money to donate to a LOCAL hospital for breast cancer research and care? And we’re having an employee costume contest? And had cute skeletons reading the paper at one of the tables? I like the atmosphere here. They don’t make places like this anymore! Can’t wait to go back.

I’ve been here several times for breakfast, whenever I am in Kingston visiting friends/family. This seems to be one of the better diners in the area. I’ve never really had a truly bad experience here. The portions are pretty big for the price. However, this past visit, the waitress seemed a little slow. I ordered the garden omelette with bacon. Maybe it is because of the veggies, there was not a lot of flavor to it and I had to keep peppering it. The home fries that I had were a little burnt. The dishes that my group ordered seemed to fare better. The also have a great selection of pastries by the entrance. Check in on Unilocal and get $ 3 off your $ 30 restaurant check.

Deising’s is the best bakery in Kingston hands down. The location Uptown on North Front St is superior to the one in Midtown on Broadway. There’s always a better selection Uptown and the staff is far superior. The hard rolls, black/white cookies and chocolate croissants are all family favorites. Deising’s also makes really good breakfasts in their sit down dining room.

An excellent breakfast on the way back from Vermont. The eggs were cooked perfectly over-medium. The mound(mountain perhaps!) of bacon was done extra crispy just like I asked and the multi-grain toast was perfect. The server was super friendly and when she forgot what kind of toast my husband had asked for, she just brought him a set of white and a set of multi-grain which allowed me to have extra toast. I will definitely go back for breakfast if I am ever in Kingston again at breakfast time.
