The owner and wait staff are wonderful. Family run business as well. Food quality and alcohol selections are great. I love the Caesar Salad, best I have ever had. We come to Ecce terra quite often because we have never been disappointed, and it all stated with a Naked Cosmo.

The menu looked interesting, so we decided to have lunch here, despite the fact that the interior was not promising. The food was a disappointment. The onion soup tasted like it was canned soup and my husband pulled a piece of hardened bay leaf out of the bowl. Very appetizing. His burger was over done and he said it was just OK. My grilled Halloumi cheese & tomato platter consisted of lots of pita bread, 3 small, translucent pieces of tomato and three small pieces of grilled cheese. For $ 11.00, too much bread and too little cheese. Tasted OK, nothing special. A sullen waitress and ugly interior completed a depressing lunch. The best I can say about this place is that it was clean.

Staying in Kingston for a ski weekend at Belleayre. Our usual go to restaurant could not accommodate our party, so we decided to look elsewhere and came upon Ecce Terra — and so glad we did. The food was excellent, as was the service. I had the Cesear salad– which I usually do not order, because most restaurants glop massive amounts of dressing on a Cesaer– but the menu said that the salad was made with figs and walnuts– two favorites of mine– the salad was perfectly lightly dressed, and the figs and walnuts made it even better. For my main, I had the black bean burger– obviously homemade, with a delicious spicy spread on ciabatta – highly recommend for any vegetarians in the group. Couldn’t pass up dessert, because they had one of my favorites– pistachio ice cream– homemade and chock full of pistachios. My husband raved about his rigatoni arrabiata(and his caprese starter), and my normally picky-eater son inhaled his stuffed chicken Parmesan(as well as his bread pudding dessert). My brother in law had to share his portobello mushroom soup with the table, and finished his massive zuppe de pesce in no time flat. Grilled Haloumi cheese starter, shrimp scampi and grilled scallops rounded out the rest of the orders, and all agreed were delicious. I think we’ve found our new go to restaurant!

Dropped in on a whim to Ecce Terra from a Google search for the Kingston area. I got the house salad with my Rigatoni Arrabiata. The salad was dressed perfectly, and the Rigatoni«tossed w/house made spicy sausage, tomatoes, garlic & a touch of cream» was wonderfully al dente. The sausage was full flavored and just enough of it to add a nice little kick to the dish. My dinner partner, had ordered the onion soup to start, he was served the Carrot Ginger… but decided to keep it because it looked and smelled so good, he left none of it…(the young woman who took our order did come over and apologize for the mistake, which we appreciated). Also ordered, the Chicken Kalamata, was eaten in its entirety too, along with the bit I had left of my dish. Everything simply tasted fresh. The restaurant is intimate with a nice vibe; when we were there, earlyish on a Saturday night, it had tables of couples, a few small families… We really enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere of Ecce Terra, we look forward to returning.

Went there for dinner tonight and had a great meal. All the dishes were fresh and cooked to perfection. Bridget, the owner, served us, and was a pleasure to speak with. She goes to Gill’s, the local farm, each day and buys the freshest, tastiest greens and vegetables available. We started with two appetizers — zucchini flowers served with red sauce, and Jumbo Butter Beans roasted in olive oil and tomatoes with crumbled feta cheese and dill. For our entrees, we selected Chicken Parmesan stuffed with ricotta, eggplant and spicy, hot sausage topped with mozzarella cheese and served with delicious fresh, crunchy, buttery green and yellow beans, and Seafood Stuffed Jumbo Shrimp served with pasta cooked to perfection. The entrees were accompanied by a green salad with tomatoes from Gill’s Farm. We selected an excellent bottle of White Bordeaux recommended by Bridget. Although this restaurant has been around for quite a long time, Bridget took it over last fall and it definitely deserves a second look. I would give it a 4−½ star rating if it were possible.

Excellent food Appetizers amazing! The octopus is fab, and the mussels a must! Cheers to the chef! They will even cater to food allergies — for example I am gluten free and they have gone out of their way to serve gluten free food to me.

Went here last night for dinner and everything was great. The atmosphere, prices, and service were excellent! There was only one other table in restaurant when we arrived. I am guessing it is because we got there around 8:30pm but there was also a small bar crowd. The entrée prices were quite fair(Ex: $ 22 for Lamb Chops and $ 20 for jumbo fried shrimp… both came with side dishes and salad). The food was very good but I just wish their menu was a bit bigger(or just had more seafood entrees). The grilled octopus appetizer is awesome!

This restaurant is really good, and the atmosphere is friendly. Tasteful decorations. The ‘real’ Mediterranean food is at the top of the menu, in the Appetizers section. The main dishes are more generic international fare. I recommend the Gigandes(Giant Beans), and the Imam Baildi. The Briam was very good, although not like any I had tasted elsewhere. The grilled octopus was a treat! When we go, we just order a huge selection of appetizers and have a feast, accompanied by an excellent Greek white wine. The owner-chef, Tony, is from Greece. We had fun chatting with him.
