Hands down the absolute worst dining establishment I have ever had the misfortune of going to. The eggs tasted like rubber. The bacon had the consistency of cardboard(same taste as well) the sausage looked as if it was raw. The service was absolutely terrible. I wouldn’t feed this food to a pig. The home fries were so bad that I can’t even express it with words. It is nothing but a big waste of time and money. We took 1 bite of each thing and asked for the check. They didn’t try to fix the situation at all. No offer to make new food or get a discount. The place needs to be shut down.**** I have it one star because it won’t let me pick no stars. The place sucks****

Breakfast started with the worst coffee I ever had. Had blueberry pancakes that we’re very dry with very few blueberrys. only had one type of syrup tasted store bought so didn’t the orange lady had bacon omlette and it was overcooked and the bacon was hard and fatty. would not recommend Breakfast at this restaurant.

The quality of the food is excellent. The homemade bread and salsa were yummy! They cook the eggs perfectly and I loved their french toast and baked beans. This place is also very kid-friendly. They have toys and books for kids. So appreciated!

Firstly, it’s about the food. I got the NHDOT breakfast which comes with 2 eggs, home fries, toast, sausage links, bacon, ham, and French toast. Optional subs are pancakes and beans. — Eggs over easy were perfectly cooked, runny not raw. — Homefries are an indicator of the cook to me. These are REAL homefries, not deep fried potato cubes with no flavor. These hand cut tubers were slow cooked on the griddle with a nice balance of seasoning within their well earned outer edge. — Toast was made with home made wheat bread that was moist and had a touch of honey in it. Almost a crime to make toast out of such good bread. — sausage links were good, no gristle and not fatty — bacon was cooked perfectly if you like a crunch without crumble. Not overly salty and had about a 70/30% meat to fat ratio. — French toast was thick, airy and moist with a nice browned finish. The egg dip had cinnamon and maybe a touch of nutmeg. Think eggnog. It’s not a trendy, cute, or hip atmosphere/décor but, as I said, it’s all about the food. Go there.

Cute little dinner. Dated but clean. Food was your standard breakfast choices. Fun place to find locals who like to chat as well.

I’m sitting here with Stephan R. We walked in one hour ago, ordered 50 minutes ago and no sign of food. I’m ready to leave, don’t even want to eat here now.

Breakfast the day I went there was not very good. Pancakes were doughy and the coffee was lukewarm. They were short on person so the service was awful as well.

This review is based on breakfast at Josiah’s Restaurant(formerly Mr. Nick’s), which is located in the Kingston Plaza. This restaurant is under new ownership and management and named after Josiah Bartlett, who was a NH statesman and former NH Governor from Kingston, NH. The breakfast menu at Josiah’s is very similar to the Mr. Nick’s breakfast menu with similar offerings including eggs, bennies, scrambles, omelettes, pancakes, French toast, Belgian waffles, breakfast sandwiches, hash, and breakfast sides. They brew Donahue Bros Coffee and the corn bread is homemade. Specialty Breakfasts(#1-#11) have been retained from Mr. Nick’s menu and additional Mexican inspired Specialty Breakfasts(#12-#15) have been added on the Josiah’s menu including the #12 Corn Bread Benedict, #13 Mexican Scram, #14 Fiesta Bowl, and #15 Chili Benedict. They still have the popular #8NHDOT($ 8.95) on the menu which includes 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, or 2 Texas toast, bacon, links, ½ ham, home fries or beans, and toast. The prices have gone up slightly since it was Mr Nick’s, but still reasonable, most breakfast dishes priced $ 2.95-$ 6.95 and specialty breakfasts priced $ 5.25-$ 9.25. Egg Beaters and egg whites are offered for an additional $ 0.50 per egg. An Early Bird Special(served Mon-Fri until 7AM): 2 eggs, home fries or beans, bacon or links, toast, and coffee is $ 4.50 plus tax. Like before, the layout of the place consists of the main cozy dining area, which has counter seating, booths, and tables and a slightly larger dining section with tables and booths. Kitchen area in the back. I stopped in here for Sunday breakfast, seat yourself. I was offered fresh brewed coffee($ 1.65) as I sat down and the menus are laminated placemats on the table. For breakfast, I ordered Specialty Breakfast #13 Mexican Scram($ 8.50): 3 scrambled eggs on homemade corn bread topped with ham, peppers, onions, cheddar. salsa, and sour cream. This breakfast dish was definitely a great choice which was very tasty and filling. The homemade corn bread was grilled and had a soft texture and a slightly sweet taste, no corn kernels though. The service was good, as the food was served in timely order(10 minutes after ordering) and I was given top offs on the coffee, which was brewed just right. I would return here again for breakfast!
