Happened to some how end up in this place during the BBQ festival in Kinston. Just to clarify the situation, the BBQ festival is where the entire downtown corridor is cordoned off just for the festival. The Red Room is a part of this section. They have over 80 teams cooking their own hogs all through the streets the night before the festival. You are allowed to drink what ever you like while the cooking is going on. So there are patrons and team members all throughout downtown the whole night walking around with a beer in their hand. The Red Room has a roll up door in the band room area that opens to the street. They had this open on this particular night with customers coming in and out regularly. There was live music and we enjoyed it for a bit. We had been walking the street just to get away from the cooking and were having a beer just like everyone else. All of the sudden this beer Nazi bartender lady runs from behind the bar and start screaming«get those cans out of my bar!» The 3 of us were kind of taken back and it took a minute to realize she was screaming at us! We obviously had a beer can in our hand just like everyone else that had walked in off the street. She kicked us out of the place whilst muttering something about being stupid rednecks drinking Miller Light. Later I found out that they are basically beer snobs and don’t respect anyone who doesn’t drink craft beer from their Mother Earth tap. Now I can understand if this was a regular night and we slipped them in under our jackets or something, but c’mon. That is no way to treat prospective customers that didn’t even know you were there. We had no idea that you couldn’t walk in this place with our beer that night. And screaming at us and calling us names was most certainly not the best way to handle it. She must be one very miserable lady.
