Dania

Me and my family were searching for some furniture, and Dania was so-​so on that part. No beds were more stable then our current one, and the couches seemed hard and stiff. I did enjoy one, which was the only soft one I saw. Dania, please buy some kind of variety! We continued shopping, despite the lack of confidence that we would find anything worth buying.
To make it worse, about ten minutes later, there was an extremely loud and disturbing noise. Apparently one of the employees was packaging a table, and it was as loud as the whole world could get. I also have a deathly fear of the sound of plastic, but this sound was taking it to the maximum. Please do that in the employee workspace or somewhere other then the middle of the whole store!
Also, the sign with the paint on it was a little, no, A LOT, chipped off. How long has it been since you’ve maintained your store? Even the front of the sign had paint chipped off. Seriously! I probably will not come back to this store. I know I am exaggerating, but perfectionists like me cannot stand imperfect items. Don’t test your chances in this store, they are about as annoying as the bug that was bugging me the whole day, and the selection is terrible.

Came in here today (⁸⁄₂₁) after another furniture store recommended them since we were looking for modern furniture that would match the style of our new home. Not one single person greeted us or even acknowledged our presence after we walked the entire store.
There were only two other customers in the store and three employees behind the sales counter who could only bother to look up at us without uttering a single word as we walked by. We were also passed by another associate who looked our direction but kept walking past as I said hello with the hopes that she would stop and help us, but she did not. Ikea has friendlier people than this place!
The sad thing is, there were some great bedroom and office pieces that we liked but since no one wanted to help us we ended up walking out. I’m beginning to think this is a Seattle area problem since this is the third place we have gone into to shop for furniture and been completely ignored. Are people here just that socially retarded since they can’t even bother to speak or acknowledge customers who step foot inside their stores? That is not how you get business and this place is one of many that need to get its act together!!!

Dania has a great selection of furniture at a reasonable price point for the quality. We’ve purchased several items from this store in the last few months. However, customer service has been subpar on multiple visits compared to that of other similar furniture stores. Talking with store associates on the phone is anything but a pleasant experience… nothing but bad attitude like I’m inconveniencing them by asking a simple question. I’d think twice before coming back here (at least to the Kirkland location).

I was a very simple sale. I walked in with cash in hand, knowing exactly what I wanted, and I knew it was going to take a few months for the bedroom set to arrive from Italy.
I called the Kirkland store about two and a half months after the order was placed to inquire on the status. The salesperson looked up my order and said «your order will be here in two weeks». I spent the next weekend traveling to Oregon to pickup my new Cali-​King mattress and moved our old bed to the guest room. All excited to have our new bedroom!
I called the Kirkland store to inquire on the day that the set would arrive and they now say it’s not going to be here for another month and a half!
So now my wife and I are sleeping on a mattress on the floor. I’m not a happy sleeper, and am not a happy Dania customer.
I don’t mind waiting for something, what I do mind is sloppy misinformation. I’m going to talk to a manager today and see if I can get some satisfaction. I’ll update my status depending on the outcome of the conversation.
Update:
I called the store last night and talked to the manager. He was very apologetic and took ownership of the error. He said he would look into the issue and get back to me. He called me back early this morning. As a customer this means a lot to me. The order looks like it might only be a few weeks later than what the sales staff told me last week. I am upgrading my review from a 2 to a 4 star. Yes we had an issue, but they handled it by owning the issue, doing their best to rectify the problem, and they treated me like they cared about me and my issue with their service.

1. Bad customer service. Staff is not friendly and almost condescending.
2. Be ready to assemble your furniture. I’d have gone with
or even ikea if we knew that.
3. They will ask you to come back another day even if they have the item in the warehouse. Totally ridiculous and wasting customer’s time.

Do not buy anything at Dania!
They are dishonest. If they run your credit card in the store. Which they always do. If you go around to the back and they refuse to load your furniture. Which they did to me. Then you cannot reverse the charge. The rules of credit card processors say, that if you signature is on the credit card slip, then you must have received the item, even if you didn’t.
In my case, the loading person signed his name to the pick up receipt left blank where the customer signs and it was considered proof of pick-​up.
Beware. Do not sign your credit card slip at Dania.

This place is huge with an enormous selection of contemporary furniture. True, the quality is not high-​high end, but it’s not cheap either. I’d consider the quality mid-​grade to above-​average. The big bonus is, you’re not paying über-​high prices, either. I really like this store. The sales people give you free reign to browse and they don’t hover over you; yet, when you need them, they’re there and have the answers to your questions. (When we were last there, we were helped by Amanda, who was great).
My black leather sofa had lasted 30 years, but it was definately showing its age. I was reminded of Frasier’s dad’s armchair, with it’s holes and duct tape. It was badly mishapen, with rips and flat springs. So we checked out Dania and found a few pieces that would work (it’s not a conventional length. Smaller than the norm). And then we stumbled upon THE piece: a black leather sofa, with perfect dimensions, on the floor, on a huge sale! And they were able to get us a new one out of the warehouse and deliver it to our house in TWO DAYS. (If we had opted for a custom upholstery, it would take 3 – 4 months or more). TWO DAYS. In the furniture buz, that’s unheard of. We also found some intense accent metalic throw pillows and a floor lamp, too.
Another bonus? For $ 60, the delivery people would take away our delapidated sofa that’s falling apart. (For those of you who know how hard it is to get rid of junk furniture that’s not accepted by Good Will, you know this is a great deal).
Two days later, like clockwork, at exactly 2:30 pm as scheduled, the delivery guys came with the new stuff and took away the old stuff. They were pleasant and professional and were only at our place for about 10 minutes. Done.

Spacious showroom, the staff are nice and no pressure from them. Most of their stuff isn’t our style, but in the back corner there is a clearance section with extreme mark-​downs and we found a couch like nothing else in the store!
The best part is the super easy pick up. The staff in the back are quick, professional, and nice. Simplest pick up of all the furniture we bought recently!

I like the furniture in this store and went there a few times, I already know what I want to buy but I will NOT but it in this store! The service is horrible and I feel like they do not deserve my business. The sales reps are not trained to try to get a sale they are not nice and not welcoming and they do not act like they appreciate their customers. We were coming TO BUY and left empty handed because of their refusal to work with us and no urgency in making the sale. The store manager was rude !! Sorry, we will be taking our business elsewhere.

Very easy transaction. I found what I wanted on the website, called them up and ordered the furniture. We decided on a delivery day. The day before I recieved a call letting me know the approximate delivery time. Then they called me 20 minutes before arrival to let me know they were on their way! Decent furniture, it’s not Ethan Allen, but it’s definitely not Ikea. I am more than happy with my Dania experience.

As nice as their furniture is customer service is equally worse. We bought a large painting but instead of paying the $ 95 for delivery my husband rented out a van and picked it up. When we unpacked it later at home, we found the back of the frame was broken in half. When I called the store they refused to swap it out and asked us to either pay the $ 95 or bring it back ourselves to swap it… it was their product that was defective not our fault, so I would I do the hassle again? All the manager had to say was a curt sorry! Whereas I had a similar situation with Kasala and they immediately swapped it out without a question. I don’t think think I am going back to Dania again!

We came here right after shopping at My Home, just up the street. The difference was incredible. The sales staff at My Home were friendly and helpful. At Dania, we found them to be cold, unhelpful and impossible to locate. Even though we were one of only two groups in the entire store, we couldn’t get a sales person to stick around long enough to answer our questions. They kept running off back to the front desk, which was too far away for them to see or hear if we needed more help. Maybe we caught them on a bad day, but our couch shopping actually brought us here twice on two separate days with different sales staff on duty but with similarly disappointing results.

Nice furniture, though a tad modern for my taste.
However, there were a few pieces we were actually interested in. Unfortunately, we were first approached by a sales person who could not have been less into us if she tried. I mean, she came over, but than had her eyes constantly looking beyond us to see if anyone more interesting came along. It was like being with a guy, who is always looking for someone better — or maybe she was thinking about her next manicure. She obviously thought we were «just looking», and not deserving of her full attention.
It’s too bad, because there were plenty of sales people who looked sincerely helpful, but asked us too late. We were already trapped, and left unimpressed. We did end up purchasing a sectional couch elsewhere — where the customer service was more in line with our expectations.

The couch arrived on time and just like we ordered. The delivery guys were very professional and put together the sectional properly. I would definitely go back here.

I love Dania’s furniture, it’s very modern and simple. Some of the furniture can be quite pricey but it’s much cheaper that Scan Design that has similar stuff. I bought a few things from there including a sectional. It looks amazing! Customer service is just right, friendly and quick. I’m a fan.

I bought a leather couch from this store, at a very competitive price. The selection of couches and décor is better than I expected. In fact, the selection and pricing were superior to all of the other furniture stores I visited in the Redmond, Kirkland, and Lynnwood areas. I picked up the couch a few days after paying for it and the warehouse personnel loaded it into my brother’s truck. I will visit this store again for furniture purchases.

Yeah, I’m a fan of Dania! Prices are decent, furniture and home décor items are nice and the staff were ok. Reason it’s not getting 5 stars is because I had to spend several minutes walking around the store trying to find a store associate to come assist us.

This is a ridiculous shopping experience at the Dania store in Kirkland.
Called last week to see whether we can pick up a dining chair that was missed in their first delivery 2 weeks ago, and was asked it would be ready for pick up today. Called this morning to see when we can come in, and the store rep told us to come in after 1130am. We did, but the warehouse manager told us it’s there but not assembled yet! Not assembled! Why the hell you asked us to come in then?!
To make it worse, the warehouse manager blamed us not talking to the right person — who the hell we should ask to talk to if your store rep told us it’s ready for pick up — and couldn’t promise us when it can be assembled and ready for pickup…
Well, one thing I can promise you — I won’t buy any piece of junk from Dania again!

I would rank shopping for furniture in the top 10 things I dislike most about moving… but Dania is very open and casual so you don’t have the swooping vulture salespeople clawing at your back while you look. They have classic and modern furniture, a pretty good selection, measuring tapes to help you map out things better, and reasonable prices that are reflective of the product quality.
We haven’t purchased anything yet as we’re still trying to decide, but we really enjoy walking around and getting ideas for our new home at Dania.

Whew! What a relief to find a furniture store with modern stuff on the Eastside! And reasonably priced, too.
After visiting countless stores in Seattle, we found everything we needed at Dania: bedroom set, dining room table, chairs + buffet, and a sofa. (All found on 3 different occasions — we didn’t furnish our house all at once.)
Though on 2 of the visits, it DID take a while for a salesperson to come to us. What’s up with that?
Whatever the case, we’re just so happy to have found furniture we like… and that’s why we are repeat customers.
