Been enjoying this Teriyaki for 20 years, best in town. Generous portions, family run, recipe has never changed so you know exactly what you are going to get every time. Some people may be overly critical on the type of teriyaki they are used to, I think this place has more of a cult following. The people that like it, LOVEIT, and I am one of them. I hope they are there for years to come.

The cucumber salad is worth going back for. The portions are large, but the teriyaki sauce is a little overly sweet. The staff is super sweet and worth overlooking the mediocre sauce.

Five stars all the way. This is a family owned business and they are all very nice. I always get the chicken teriyaki special, but sometimes I’ll get the yaki soba, also delicious. Great food at an affordable price. I go here once a week, at least! If you haven’t tried this teriyaki before, go there right now and I guarantee you’ll be happy.

I really like this place. When I lived in Kirkland, I ate there at least twice a week for nearly 2 years. The quality is consistent every time :) I don’t eat pork or seafood, so I can’t comment, however, I think the spicy chicken is really very good. My regular meal is chicken teriyaki with a beef skewer on the side(shared with puppy) with the cucumber salad on the side(I don’t like mixing of flavors). The cucumber salad is probably the best item they make as the dressing is just right. Wait times during busy periods can be longer than McDonalds, but the food here is much much better. In my 3 years of coming here, the prices have risen a bit, but nothing like it has in Seattle. I will continue to come here whenever I am passing through Kirkland.

I am honestly surprised by this place. It is the strangest teriyaki I have ever had in my life. We like teriyaki at my house, heck we like food in general to be honest. I would also like to think we have reasonably good pallets and this place just didn’t do it for us. We live very close to this place but have never been until today, we just finished dinner actually and I couldn’t stop myself from writing this review. We usually go to another spot in Woodinville(I won’t name drop them because it is not fair to this place) but I am not feeling well so we wanted something a little closer and faster so we decided to finally try this place. It wasn’t bad enough that I would ask for my money back or be angry but it was very disappointing and not good at all unfortunately. We both had the chicken teriyaki and an egg roll. The chicken was good, cooked very well, moist, no complaints. The rice was cooked well also. The teriyaki sauce however was very interesting, it was thick and even colored like a sweet and sour sauce but tasted prominently of teriyaki sauce. Very strange to me. The other thing I found weird was their side salad. I would have to ask why they even call it a salad. It didn’t have any dressing on it at all. It was a bunch of cucumbers thinly sliced and in my take out container at least it was sitting in a small pool of water. I like cucumbers, my fiancé does not but even I didn’t like their version of a salad at all. I would like to end saying their egg roll though was delicious. How can you really get a deep fried treat wrong? The wait time was alright for a take out order, not too slow, maybe 20 minutes. I do think though we probably will not be back again… Super sorry.

Teriyaki Madness meets teriyaki sadness. Although I’m no certified food critic, I do consider myself a pretty serious teriyaki snob. While I realize that cooking chicken to order is very time consuming, the chicken in my to-go container was dry and tough. The sauce wasn’t too bad and there was enough to drown the chicken so I could choke it down. But this«special of the day» with more chicken and rice was going to the tune of an eye popping $ 9(after tax). One reviewer stated the special is always the same. I went at 1:30 and was expecting some kind of lunch special that most teriyaki places offer, but there were none. I had been here once before and never went back and now I remember why. For about $ 2 less, I’ll go down the street and get a teriyaki and gyoza lunch with free drink. As other reviewers stated, don’t expect to eat in; there’s two very small tables with two chairs each.

Closet sized restaurant, downtown quality teriyaki! Living in Capitol Hill during college at SU, there wasn’t a shortage of great teriyaki in the area. Now a parent and living in Kirkland, a few good places exist that aren’t your $ 80 plates. In an unbiased opinion even though this plate is very close by to my house, this plate has come great teriyaki. Now this place is a no frills, no jazz joint, but just a happy family owned business that has some good chicken. One of the only places I’d get teriyaki in the area. GUAPPROVED!

We’ve been coming here for 15 years. We have always ordered the special-it’s good and plenty of food. It used to be $ 5! I understand inflation and prices go up-but we’ve seen a pretty steady increase and it’s now priced at $ 9 which is almost double what it used to be. We can’t understand the justification for this kind of increase without an increase in quantity or quality. Our visits here are few and far between now.

Smaller than original madness, smaller portions too but food comes out quicker. SPICY chicken is really good. Lotsa rice. Sriracha the plate if you want your nose to run

I think I entered during the lunch rush. The place itself is small and has a small counter for dining in. Most customers seem to opt for the take-out option. I did the same and ordered a regular chicken teriyaki to go. Service was not that fast — about a 15 – 20 minute wait. The food: (i) Although great in quantity, the chicken was tough and drowning in the very sweet sauce, too sweet for my taste. It would have been a lot better to provide it separately so that I could add as little or much as I wanted. [1/5] (ii) The rice was cooked properly, not sticky, and I had no problems with it. [3/5] (iii) The cucumber salad was actually about half a sliced cucumber lying in a watery sauce. It stayed untouched after the first bite. Teriyaki side salad is usually bad, but I think I might have even preferred the standard iceberg lettuce over the cucumber weirdness. [1/5]

The spicy chicken is killer. And the cucumber salad that comes with most dishes is light, tasty and refreshing.

I am puzzled by the number of 5-star ratings. I went there for the first time today. I tried the spicy chicken. It is spicy. It is chicken. It is not teriyaki. At least it did not taste like teriyaki. Not the Japanese style teriyaki I am used to getting from most teriyaki places. I would guess that there is some other influence in the kitchen — Korean perhaps. The cucumber salad was unusual, and an interesting change from the usual lettuce with yellow dressing served by most other teriyaki restaurants. Portions were average size. But the taste just did not measure up.

The place itself is very small, so I’d recommend not even trying to eat there, but instead make a take out order. They have a special that apparently has pretty much never changed, but the special means you get extra food on your order. The food on the other hand is simply delicious. The side they have is not your average salad, but instead a cucumber salad!

I work nearby and come here for dinner at least once a week. They are fast and friendly and I can always count on delicious food! I order the white meat chicken which is delicious and I’ve had a coworker order the pork teriyaki and he loved it!
