Doo salon is just about as cool as it gets! You can enjoy amazing art while there, and the atmosphere is hip, comfortable and welcoming. Michelle did the most amazing job on my highlights, and she made it look easy! You can tell she is an expert in her field. I am now a devout fan of Doo, and Michelle!

I have been looking for a great salon since leaving San Francisco and saw this place had great reviews. Called Tuesday during the normal business hours, but the call went to voicemail. I left a message requesting a call back to check for available apointment times for a hair cut. It’s been 48 hours and still no call back. I found another great salon a little further out, but about $ 15 less. I guess they are not taking new clients or maybe had no available apointments, but a call back would have been nice! I’m only giving 1 star because it was the only way I could complete the review.

Had a great time with Michelle on my first visit to Doo. She took her time and was very thorough with my cut and style. I will definitely be going back for all my cut and style needs.

Jill is phenomenal. She was great with my short hair, she’s confident and creative, and a super conversationalist, too. Will certainly be heading back soon!

It took me years, but I finally found a FANTASTIC hairdresser! After being disappointed a few too many times other places, I serendipitously stumbled upon Michelle at Doo and could not have asked for a better haircut. Right away I felt comfortable in the tastefully decorated salon, and was grateful when offered tea. Michelle knew exactly what I wanted and we had a great conversation about local restaurants and awesome DIY projects! After an affordable fee of $ 50, I left feeling very relaxed and so happy about my new look. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Another vote for Danielle and Doo, as well as the rest of the staff. Danielle knows what she is doing and after so many years cutting hair is accomplished at dealing with lots of different people. Very relaxing place, clean and open interior, in quiet and pleasant downtown Kittery, ME. Plenty of on street parking. Recommended.

After living on the seacoast for 3 years, I have finally found MY salon. This place is awesome, and Danielle gets another vote from me. She is incredibly good at what she does and is easy to chat with. During my last haircut at yet another salon that I was indifferent to, my hair was butchered into a thousand layers. Danielle cleaned up this woman’s work perfectly, and will let you stop by to get your bangs trimmed free when they start to get too long. The cut was $ 50, which is pretty normal on the seacoast, and she quoted me $ 65 for a single process color, which seems inexpensive. The salon gives off a cool, eclectic vibe — they apparently use the space as an art studio for different events and whatnot. Also, two thumbs up for using Aveda products. Things to know: –They don’t take credit cards. Checkbook or cash only. –Parking is free on the street right in front of the salon. –Without a receptionist, the stylists take turns answering the phone. Since Danielle was the only one in the salon, she had to answer each call during my visit. I wasn’t in a huge rush, so this didn’t necessarily irritate me, but I’d imagine some folks would be annoyed if they were interrupted a few times.

I visited Doo for the first time this past Saturday, and color me impressed. Danielle has been cutting my hair for almost four years now, and this was the first time I’d been to her new digs. I came in on 95, and minus a small detour getting off the highway, the place is easy to find, and it’s just a quick hop over to Portsmouth or the Kittery outlets if you want to combine a haircut and shopping. Parking on the street in front of Doo is easy, and it’s free. The salon is small but open and spacious with big front windows and shiny hardwood floors. It doesn’t have a lot of the clutter of other salons, which was a refreshing change, as was the casual, laid-back atmosphere. They had fun music on and plenty of kinds of tea to choose from. I wouldn’t drive an hour to get my hair cut by just anyone. Danielle has a great rapport with clients, and she always asks what I want and is able to give recommendations in a friendly, flattering way. I get a great haircut that looks and feels like me. I also really enjoy chatting with Danielle and catching up every time I see her. I was lucky to be booked with her on my first visit to Judy Jetson, and I’m sticking with her!
