The only thing I expect out of a haircut is for the stylist to listen to and respect what I ask them to do to my hair. I went to Sugarz asking for a trim and to take the least possible amount off, because I love the length of my hair. I left in tears because apparently my stylist thought my request was open to interpretation. She cut a solid 5 inches off my hair and when I realized what was happening her response was «honestly most of this is dead anyway.» You couldn’t pay me to go back here.

I stopped in to see Summer for a massage and had a wonderful experience. The salon is clean and neat. The massage was great, Summer has great skills and can get the knots out. I felt relaxed when she was finished. If you are in the area, massages here are great. I am sure that the other salon services are great too. From what I hear the hairstylists are booked well in advance, this tells me that they are great.

I have lived in the area for a little under a year and tried at least three or four different salons before arriving at Sugarz. No one else was as friendly, affordable, and qualified. They don’t accept gratuity but ask that you «tip» by coming back. What a treat in an area where it’s pretty pricey to get your hair trimmed. Marlene does and EXCELLENT job and is such a joy to chat with while I’m getting my hair cut. She is efficient but not rushed and is glad to offer local tips for me as a new resident. I will definitely be using Sugarz from here on out!
